I dropped off my vinted sales and listed a few new things. Have also listed stuff on local buy nothing group. Have decided to keep everything online a month, and if they don't sell/get taken, I'll donate/chuck them. Thought I'd get more done today but DC not feeling well.

Out today
Baby food pouch
3 swim nappies
4 tatty gift bags
Pile of papers, mainly nursery art and brochures
Baby blanket to textile recycling

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/04/2023 19:12

I've just posted a dress sold on Vinted, also shredded a few bits of paperwork. I've got some more stuff to list but I do get Vinted fatigue every few weeks or so and we are going away for a few days so will leave it until we get back.

Gassylady · 10/04/2023 19:57

Yet more holey socks into rag bag but they will get replaced. Two outside lights have been damaged and taken down currently occupying a corner of the kitchen floor until a time slot can be booked at the tip. Lots of cardboard to go too. A sleeping mat and travel pillow to be discarded too after latest scout camp -both damaged after lots of faithful service 😀

PopethYnIawn · 10/04/2023 20:07

5 and a half pairs of shoes/trainers.
Some old magazines.
Rearranged the utility room and made it more user friendly!

toomanyhobbies · 10/04/2023 21:04

We’ve cleared out the eves cupboard in the spare room. Wasn’t too much on there but it had all just been shoved in. Went through the camping bag in there and got rid of most of the bits to either go in the shed or bin/donate.
listed lots of old games and a tv and some shelves on Fb. Tv and shelves gone.

Also got some bits out of the loft to sort. Got a box of ds baby clothes to donate when it’s open at the end of the week.

Went through 2 boxes of paper work and the file box. All in a bag for friend to take to work for shredding.

Bag of clothes for charity shop
1 duvet for dogs charity
box of baby clothes to go to charity
big bag of books to go to nursery after Easter.
bag of clothes for the clothes bank

hopefully most of that should all be gone by the end of the week.

if the games done sell on Fb will give
to the school.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/04/2023 21:31

30 items sold on eBay ready for posting tomorrow and 10 clothing items in the rag bag for recycling.

IncessantNameChanger · 10/04/2023 21:45

My vinted stuff isn't getting many views. Maybe Easter is a slow time, but like you pigtails, I'm going to start bundling up after a month, I might try then then on ebay but got to put a time limit on things going out the door.

heartbroken22 · 11/04/2023 01:49

I've not done much today. Just sorted kids toy box after the declutter a few days ago and it looks so much nicer. I actually played with my 2 year old today using some of her kitchen set and it felt so good.

Also have a whole load of clothes parcels to return/declutter to the store. I need to stop buying things in the sale online as I don't know what they look like.

I decluttered some pieces of paper from my kids school work etc. every little helps I guess!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/04/2023 14:48

I've gifted 4 large toys, a board game and some old pan lids today, its cleared a bit of space in one of the cupboards which is nice!

heartbroken22 · 11/04/2023 19:14

I've gone and given away one pair of branded shoes, one dress that was too big for me and worn out. I felt a bit guilty giving away a dress of dd5 as it shrunk in the wash after one wear and was that scratchy material. A relative gave it to me and I felt a bit guilty I had wasted her money as she only wore it 4 times.

IndianSummer78 · 11/04/2023 22:06

Heartbroken it's not your fault the person who bought it bought a shrinking scratchy item. These things happen. It's the thought that counts. You got what use from it that you could.

Out today 2 pairs of too small trousers. Total is 482

Nordicmom · 11/04/2023 22:16

We’re still away on a trip abroad so no further decluttering as such but I did help my mum look through my kids toys at their house with DD and we decluttered about 15 things and emptied 2 boxes from her cupboard making some space for their own stuff so she was happy about that . She’s little by little going through their house too ( as is my MIL) and now that our kids are older and no more definitely coming they’ve been able to get rid of the high chair , travel cot etc bigger things and younger kids toys in the last few years .
I feel like DD is shooting up in height constantly so I’ll have to try on all the summer dresses we’ve kept for trips to hot places this winter and her winter coats etc in her wardrobe . I feel like more clothes will have to go . Might have to let go of several pairs of sweatpants for long legged DS too they’re now looking a bit short unless worn really low down . I’m itching to get back to decluttering when I get home although have to first unpack and wash a thousand things etc . The snow boots can now definitely go next winter DD will need the next size up …

heartbroken22 · 12/04/2023 03:42

@IndianSummer78 thank you...you always make me feel better ❤️

heartbroken22 · 12/04/2023 03:47

@Nordicmom I didn't know how freeing it was to remove toys. I honestly feel better but could get rid of a few more. I'm glad u posted about the sweatpants and summer clothes as I often declutter every few months as things get worn out and feel really guilty. I know some people get 2 years out of clothes but it really rare with my 5 year olds clothes especially with leggings and T-shirts. Even if I buy them a bit bigger they get worn out so easily because we have less to start with.

I've made a promise to myself that every time I go Asda I need to take a bag of clothes to recycle or donate.

BertieBotts · 12/04/2023 07:38

Yes I find it really helpful to have things to take on the way to other things.

DS3 is attempting his nap at nursery today so I've got to be vaguely nearby at 1pm, but DS2 is feeling ill. Hmm maybe I'll go and drop off the broken electrical items for recycling at Ikea.

ememem84 · 12/04/2023 09:11

Chair picked up yesterday. Woop.

i have stuff in the car to go to the dump but annoyingly it’s closed until today and todays my day in the office. Will take tomorrow afternoon.

IncessantNameChanger · 12/04/2023 10:59

I have just counted up the hanging items in my wardrobe and it's 193!!! That doesn't even count the things in the wash. I'm going to list 10% of it on Vinted. After Easter, I'm going to bundle up the kids things I'm selling on Vinted too. I'm going to set myself a target to get rid of 100 items of clothes by the end of May. I have too many I never wear and too much I can't easily find

Deathraystare · 12/04/2023 11:44

Shedload of stuff to get rid of! Of course I don't mean shed, I mean my bedroom. I am going to stand up put on my big girl pants and do it. I am why haven't I done it before???

Spent all last night moving stuff out from under the bed! Including a bathroom scale (I already have one in the bathroom!).

Mostly it is rubbish though lots of CDs and make up. The excess make up I can bring to work as we have a beauty box for the patients.

Allshallbewell2021 · 12/04/2023 12:13

Do you think anyone takes dvds any more? Thanks

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 12/04/2023 12:45

I have a day off work today so while decorating our bedroom I'm trying to find things to get rid of.
10 more items for the rag bag at the tip and a baby swing seat gone on freecycle. The swing has freed up a surprising amount of space. We'd never even used it.

EllieQ · 12/04/2023 13:22

Back to the decluttering after a busy couple of weeks. One out last weekend - I’d put the travel cot on a FB freecycle group and it was collected on Saturday after much to and fro-ing about collection times.

I also sorted through the top shelf of DD’s wardrobe which was full of Moses basket and cot bedding as I thought, plus a couple more sleeping bags and snow suits, and a bag of newborn-size baby clothes which I hadn’t realised was there. Have kept two blankets but the rest can be donated/ recycled - 21 items in total.

I’m going to use the space at the top of the wardrobe to store the baby/ toddler clothes that I decided to keep, instead of them being in two boxes in the corner of DD’s room. Might take the time to go through them again and see if I can reduce the collection slightly. The travel cot was under the bed so another box can go under there instead.

EllieQ · 12/04/2023 13:23

Actually, the bag of baby clothes isn’t included in that 21 items as I haven’t sorted though it yet, so there might be more to go!

IndianSummer78 · 12/04/2023 23:24

Gone today after tidying up the coffee table

3 magazines
4 leaflets
1 shoelace

Total is 490

Nordicmom · 13/04/2023 09:29

We are now home and I’m itching to get back
into decluttering but still have some unpacking left and lots of laundry ,jobs and admin to do so it’ll have to continue to be along side of them . Will be trying on kids thermals etc before packing them away .
A couple of bits now hopefully more later …

-7 travel toiletries from my stash
-1 of my books finished
-1 DD unused sticker book to charity
-a pile of newspapers and magazines
-another DD bath bomb used up from her previous presents

And DD snow boots are now going finally after this trip . DS are ok size wise ,I’ll have to clean them and check if they’re in ok condition still before packing away into the ski bag …
