DD chose a very strong colour theme in her bedroom of 3 walls shocking pink and 1 wall black. It looks very effective. She has a black blind (which is against a pink wall) and a black lampshade.

DH has said she can now have some new bedroom furniture to the grand old tune of £300. Her bed is a metal (silver) colour, so would try to keep that, was after dressing table, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated before DH changes his mind!

How old is she?

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 21:43

ikea?

Pannacotta · 10/02/2008 21:45

Agree with IKEA though it depends on her age...

mynaughtylittlesister · 10/02/2008 21:45

13 yrs old.

We thought about ikea, trouble is its a good 3hrs away from us, so a bit far to get there and back before sch ends!

They do offer on line ordering in many places now, have you checked out if your area is covered?

mynaughtylittlesister · 10/02/2008 21:50

No! Will look into it - thanks!

ooh, look at this... is chest of drawers and dressing table in one... then you just need wardrobe www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70121254

Pannacotta · 10/02/2008 21:53

V nice Snappy, I'd have loved that as a 13 yr old!

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 21:55

fits in with the black/pink thing she has goin on anyway...
theres this for a wardrobe.. youd need to make a curtain to go over the front... something in fabric with black/pink maybe?

Pannacotta · 10/02/2008 21:57

This is smart too (maybe bit too modern?) and you can get drawers & wardrobe to match

Poor DD feels hard done by as for the last 6 yrs she has had to have one of those canvas efforts! (in her words) personally I cant see the problem. Think she would moan at having a curtain across the door (so to speak) - crumbs that does make her sound ungrateful!

Though perhaps we are getting carried away (not sure if they deliver to you) - can you tell I have 2 boys!!

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 22:00

have a flick about on here for inspiration... and since you wont need much (you can back it with plain black cotton or something) you could maybe stretch to getting some fabulous fabric to front the wardrobe and really give the room an expensive looking feel

mynaughtylittlesister · 10/02/2008 22:00

Pannacotta, think DD would like that, plus not too many places for her to hide rubbish!

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 22:02

i saw that pannacotta... like that too. it comes in the black also and the dressing table has velvet lined drawrs for jewellery etc, which sounds nice.

hey, its ok if she doesnt fancy fabric... know how she feels. but maybe the sumtous fabrics might sway her??

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 22:04

theres this for 229, which would cover chest of drawrs and wardrobe... how much was the dressing table? [keeps looking]

mynaughtylittlesister · 10/02/2008 22:04

She is such a Tomboy, was amazed that she went for the pink to be honest! She hates wearing skirts, she is a very plain dresser.

SnappyLaGore · 10/02/2008 22:05

ok, so malm dressing table and that last wardrobe/drawers thing comes to just slightly over budget... then youll need a mirror...

Pannacotta · 10/02/2008 22:05

I thought I had linked to the black table (in the first link) but obv not!
This is nice in black

Wouldn't purple, white or lime green be better? I mean it's a lot of black!
