Just been quoted £20 for non-agency cleaner in the Home Counties.

Is that about right these days?

It includes a bit of petrol expenses as I've asked if she can come to our new house about 9 miles from our current place.

£15/hour (home counties). £16 if they bring their own cleaning products. I think that's the going rate around here.

WellTidy · 20/02/2023 17:31

£15/hour south east of london, within the m25. I provide everything in the cleaning front. I think this is probably on the low side and will speak to our cleaner about it. Ours is 6 hours/week cleaning and ironing.

BlueRaspberry7 · 20/02/2023 18:08

Ah ok - I misread and she is charging £22 with her own products, but it seems quite steep. She's really good though

£22 an hour? That's a lot. I pay mine £12.50 an hour, although I provide the products. I'm just outside the M25.

Pfeiffle · 20/02/2023 18:11

How many miles will she have to travel?

280NeuerNamen · 20/02/2023 18:13

£18ph. South but not Home Counties or London.

It is the going rate around here, several are charging £20ph. She provides products and is a lovely lady but not an amazing cleaner.

Springintoabetterlife · 20/02/2023 18:14

£15 ph in the NE. This prices will was last summer so I suspect it has gone up since then.

londonloves · 20/02/2023 18:18

£15 per hour in zone 3 south east London, we provide products. She recently put her prices up from £12 an hour, j think she's still too cheap tbh for London. We tip v generously at Christmas and on her n birthday.

LividNC · 20/02/2023 18:18

Mine’s just today gone from 15 to 17ph. NW.

Hedjwitch · 20/02/2023 18:20

14 per hour and bring own products

BlueRaspberry7 · 20/02/2023 18:27

Not sure where she lives but the new house is about 8 miles from our current house - I currently have her through an agency and pay her £13/hour and the agency about £4 an hour monthly(?)

I pay £19 per hour to independents (£38 a week…one hour of cleaning, two cleaners) Cotswolds. Seems about the average for self employed cleaners here.

Starryskiesinthesky · 20/02/2023 19:04

£15 per hour and I’m in Edinburgh.

TotteringByGenteely · 20/02/2023 19:06

We pay £17.50 per hour in SE London which is slightly on the high side for our area where the norm is £15ph. The cleaners do bring all their own products and equipment.

Namechange12908 · 20/02/2023 19:07

£15 per hour just inside M25. She brings everything. If she increases her rate I’d be okay with it.

£22 is a bit more than the average but she may be factoring in extra travel time/costs and insurance.

BlackberrySky · 20/02/2023 19:11

I pay £12 per hour. That's on the low side for my area so I think we are due an increase soon.

sixfoot · 20/02/2023 19:14

£15 ph, SW city. That’s with their own products and hoover but they do use our mop

YerAWizardHarry · 20/02/2023 19:17

To be fair if she’s doing an extra 16 miles (there and back) it’s not unusual to charge 50p per mile m which would add another £8. Heck even 25p a mile would be add £4 on to the bill.

Badbudgeter · 20/02/2023 19:19

I’m rural and £20 an hour is fairly standard round here when people have to travel 10 miles or so to get to a property. She pricing it up to include her time and travel.

Gooseysgirl · 20/02/2023 19:21

£14 ph, Zone 5 London

Gooseysgirl · 20/02/2023 19:23

Should say we are planning to increase to £15ph shortly as that is now the going rate where we live - she's too nice to ask us herself!

nothingmoreatthemo · 20/02/2023 19:25

£18 ph/Cheshire

OldTinHat · 20/02/2023 19:26

£10 pH, South East.
