How often do you clean your mobile phone and how?

I use an antibacterial wipe on the phone and wash the case under the tap with washing up liquid.

I probably clean it every other day or so but we have a toddler in the family who likes to put phones into his mouth.

I give the screen a wipe with a screens wipe every now and then.

Bestcatmum · 14/01/2023 19:51

I work in the NHS and take photos of manky wounds on mine so I clean it with clinell wipes which kill anything and I've got a hefty wrap around cover on it to protect the phone. That can be taken off snd sterilised if required.

Nicecow · 14/01/2023 19:56

Never 😷🤢😵

shinynewapple22 · 14/01/2023 19:57

@Bestcatmum umm - is this a work phone you are taking photographs for medical reasons - or are you just randomly taking pictures of your patients' wounds ?

UsingChangeofName · 14/01/2023 20:14

Never.
Well, I might wipe it on my sleeve if something splashed on it.

Umm, sometimes when the screen has a lot of fingerprints on it I give it a wipe on my jeans

Thank god

Never. Why would I?

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 They have more bacteria than a toilet seat

and yet I have never been made ill from touching my phone.... 🤔

You need to get a grip.

SoupDragon · 14/01/2023 20:49

I mean, where is it picking these nasty bacteria up from? Do you regularly wipe your arse with your phone or something?

🤦‍♀️ There is faecal matter on almost everything. Use public transport? Door handles? Self service machines? Your hands are constantly picking up bacteria and unless you wash your hands every time you pick up your phone (which you clearly don’t if you can’t wipe a screen once a week) then the bacteria is transferred onto that screen.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/01/2023 21:48

🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t care about bacteria, exposing myself to it has given me a robust immune system.

DuncanBiscuits · 14/01/2023 21:49

trevthecat · 14/01/2023 11:10

Wipe mine on my boob occasionally 😬

I've never seen such a polarised thread. 😂Very frequently or never.

Ostryga · 14/01/2023 16:50

I lick the screen and wipe it on my trousers if I’m being 100% honest.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 14/01/2023 21:53

Um I replace my phone approximately every 2-3 years

Blahburst · 14/01/2023 21:53

Never.

DillDanding · 14/01/2023 21:59

I don’t actually even care if my phone is covered in bacteria. Ditto door handles or myriad other things I touch in a day.

RewildingAmbridge · 14/01/2023 22:01

When the screen gets blurred from fingerprints , with the sleeve of whatever I'm wearing, usually after breathing heavily on it.
Don't give your toddler your phone.

WednesdaysPlaits · 14/01/2023 22:02

I have never even contemplated cleaning it

Haha no its an NHS app. The photo goes straight to my work email.

Sigh.

Unless you are wiping everything every second of the day there is no point.

but you do you. I'll carry on somehow miraculously not being ill even though I don't dip my phone in bleach every 5 minutes.

crashbandi · 14/01/2023 23:01

I clean mine every other day with alcohol wipe

namechangeforthisoneeee · 15/01/2023 06:31

Before I go on holiday in case any party remanence is lingering 🙃

Theoldwoman · 15/01/2023 06:41

Every night before bed with a wet wipe.
