Yaddah - that's my prob too! I'm abstaining, at least for this evening

Off to the supermarket now, my trusty list in hand, meal plan done. Am starting to feel better now

TheMadHouse · 04/02/2008 13:41

Afternoon all

I am positive - pants new really

I am, now waiting for an appoinmnet to discuss removal or ovaries and tubes verus full hystorectomy (less HRT needed if you do not have a womb) and also removal and possible reconstruction of breasts. I am also waiting for a call for an MRI of my boobs, as Mamogramms are usless prior to 40 as brast tissue is too dense.

The boys can be tested at 18 and any children of theirs at 18. I am feeling a lot down at the moment, but will give myself a big kick up the backside and be OK later. Boys are asleep and DH is taking mum home

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/02/2008 13:52

You are allowed to feel dow TMH It is alot to think about

OP posts:
tortoise · 04/02/2008 13:53

Bewilderbeast · 04/02/2008 14:29

ludaloo · 04/02/2008 14:35

Oh TMH sorry to hear that.
Have a special luda hug, of course you are feeling down hun, perfectly normal

Yaddayah · 04/02/2008 14:57

Awww crap madhouse
Hugs

FunkyGlassSlipper · 04/02/2008 15:17

I'm still unwell so not doing housework but couldnt lurk and not post to TheMadHouse.

I imagine you are in shock right now. This is hard news to take BUT it is news that means you can have some control over what steps you take next. That has to be better than knowing you have the gene but not being able to do anything about it. (I think? Obviously not talking from experience thous so tell me to shove off if I am wrong). Lots of hugs coming your way xx

BiancaCastafiore · 04/02/2008 15:41

Oh heck TMH Lots of love and best wishes as you come to terms with this result x

I hate pooper scooping! I got dog poo on my finger!! Is there an easy way of doing it other than hand in a bag? I couldn't get it all off the path either.

Have to get tea cooked very soon because both ds's want to go to monday club. Normally ds2 goes on his own and catches a lift with a friend.

BiancaCastafiore · 04/02/2008 16:39

TMH you know where I am if you need to chat (MSN or email if it helps) x

ewww Tort, the pooper-scooping is always our main reason against getting a dog!

Welcome back Dame congrats on number 4 () All the advice from earlier posts about routines etc is good, I've found getting into a routine is the only way I'd ever manage to stay on top of the housework.

Ruby Fridays play date went well thanks Got a dvd from library, found popcorn in cupboard...dd and friend played dressing up and didn't give the dvd a second glance She seems to have had a good day at school today and we have another friend here this afternoon till 5 All good so far. The teacher thinks she knows who is responsible for stealing the pencil case and is working on collecting some evidence so we'll have to wait and see there...I'm not too bothered, I'm mostly worried about the whole feeling exculded business so am working on that.

Had a good morning at work. The lady I interviewed a few weeks ago started to day and was great so it looks as though my Mondays at work will be more bearable
Went to the supermarket on my way home and am now trying to put off unpacking it all....

Janni · 04/02/2008 19:00

So sorry for you TMH, not surprised you feel wretched. What can we do to help?

Janni · 04/02/2008 19:04

I have really not enjoyed today, am totally fed up and DD has been very very trying. Was impressed with my older DS though, who tried to settle her to sleep when I was at the end of my tether...

Am quite behind now because I've had to spend so much time trying to understand and deal with DDs moods today - perhaps we overdid it at the w/end and this is payback day.

Want to browse on MN for a bit, then need to:

  1. do DW 2) do school bags 3) hear reading 4) get DS1 to do HW and piano practice 5)prep laundry for a service wash tomorrow.
TheMadHouse · 04/02/2008 19:23

Thanks Ruby

TBH it is only the recover that is worring me. I can live without the boobs and other bits and so can DH, but with one who will be 3 in March and another that will not be 2 in June - well they really need mummy.

We will manage we always do. Mum and MIL are both in ill health and can not help with the LO's, but DH is a god send. I had sections and was driving after 2 weeks with both - you just manage.

I wouldnt worry about the tutu's etc DS1 has pink toenails when I paint mine and his fav colour at the mo is pink. We are really cool about Sexual steriotyping, as you can see from photo's they both lo0ve their kitchen - he he he

I am 34 now too - must change profile.

I am feeling a bit better - I would move heaven and earth to spend more time with the boys. Took 10 years to get them and I am going to enjoy them growing up and become the mad old mother inlaw
