Morning GO Morning All who follow

I am only managing to get on here once or twice a day Our Broadband connection keeps failing. After numerous phone calls to our supplier, and DH loosing his rag and switching to SKY broadband, we have discovered that there is some kind of work going on at the local junction box (or whatever it is) BT have been rewiring apparently. So DH loosing his rag with Orange, and switching to SKY was not entirely necessary, but I am sure it made him feel better! Anyway, we are still as we had no warning of this disruption, and as DH does lots of work on here in the evening, he has been very too! It seems to go on for about an hour in the morning, a bit in the afternoon, and then it is off all night.
I have been trying to dial up all morning, and it has only just come back on now.

So I apologise for missing posts and not being around! Hopefully they will be finished soon. It has been a week now we have had trouble

Anyway....

Kids have a party to go to at lunch time.
A friends DD2 is comming over this afternoon to sleep over with DS, and My DD1 is going over to her to sleep over with her DD1.

I would also like to get into town at some point, but might have to leave that until tomorrow.

Hopefully, will see you all in a bit xx

Hello to all. Thanks go for the thread.

I've read the threads from the last few days but won't try to re-cap at all, just pop on a couple of times this w/e if I can and chip in with this thread. All those with worries and concerns, I'm sending you positive vibes.

I must go and get showered now. I've been up 2 hours and I think I can do it now without disturbing people who are still sleeping too much. See you later.

Simply · 02/02/2008 08:46

Sorry luda, I cross posted with you there! I hope to catch up with you later and sorry to hear about the failing connection. It's very irritating, isn't it?

DontDreamItBeIt · 02/02/2008 09:02

Hello again

I was going to have a lie in but

IT'S SNOWING HERE

Proper snow is my favourite weather, I find it stunning,it is so beautiful. OK I don't drive etc etc and I can't see the hassles with it but I just love the snow. I get so excited.

So another Saturday Morning lie in scrapped. All the kids played out, Ed got togged up and the whole family went out to play in the snow. Snow balls, snow angels, everything. I was rolling round in it. All this at 8am.

The family next door have a teenager from Africa. It is the first time she has seen snow and she was loving it. It was wonderful to share the experience with her. She made a snow 'sculpture' and I've taken photos of it so she can mail the pictures home.

I am exhausted but very happy with it.

FLYing will be odd today. I need to tidy the bedroom as I had to pull all the clothes out to find winter ones, and

so DONE are

Tidy the kitchen (at 3am, I couldn't sleep as I was in pain and needed my meds to take effect, at least it got done)
Dress Ed for the snow
Play out
Bath Ed
get snuggly PJs on.

TO DO

Sort out Ed's bookcase (it's a real mess and there are books we haven't read as they are 'lost' in the chaos
Sort out the bedroom
Make beds
Tidy front room
Play with Ed
Vac staircase

Yesterday was brilliant. I loved working at the school, it felt great and I'm sure it is the type of job for me. I intend to send the head some flowers as a thank you for giving me the opportunity to gain this vital experience.

Listening to @Fighting talk and resting up for a bit. I'm having a really nice day . Hope you all are too

Afternoon all

No snow now just ice. We are having a bit of a day. DH let me have a lovley long lie in and as the boys were excellant for him, we decided to pop to the nearest large town get milkm and take them to MacD's. DH was in the que with DS2 when DS1 threw up everywhere. I had to strip him in there and shove him in my coat and run to the car with him.

DS1 had his in the car and we are home and DS2 is tucked up in his cot. He is full of cold, still has sore eyes and now is being sick. I just want to squeeze him. Poor mite

Grouchyoscar · 02/02/2008 15:48

Hi there TMH I thought my snowy enthusiasm had scared everyone off

Done

Tidy Ed's Bookcase (The kid has LOADS of books, too many really but some lovely ones. I love getting and sharing books with him)
Made the bed
Make Ed's bed
Tidy ed's room
make lunch
Make dangerously choclotey hot chocolate
Empty dishwasher
Clear draining board
Put away
S&S worktops and cupboard front (rather grim they were)
S&S hob

Ed is shattered. I am paying for going full throttle this morning so I'm taking it very steady...I have to, my legs aren't working properly now . I'm trying to instigate a nap. DH is at football and I'm on my own with Ed for the next 2 hours

Bye for now

TheMadHouse · 02/02/2008 15:53

It takes a lot more than smow to scare me off, but DS2 has been sick again, whilst he was in his cot. So I am waiting for the washer to finish so I can pop in his bedding and bears.

SO I have changed his bed and am going to make the pizza dough for tea. The men are in the conservatory watching a DVD and I am in the kitchen making a cuppa

Grouchyoscar · 02/02/2008 17:36

Snow has gone ...You were only here for a little while, but when you were you made me smile.

Poor DS2, hope he's on the mend. There's a lot of tummy bugs about at the moment. It might just be the 24/48 hr one. It's awful trying to keep up with the laundry tho. Took us a week to get on top of it.

Bianca Pull ups just can't cope with night time wees I was always stripping off Ed's bed when he slept in them. It was back to nappies for the night shift.

EHM Hope you get a better night's sleep and Ellie is feeling better

I am so tired today. I doubled up on the anti fatigue meds but I really shouldn't have gone snow silly this morning. Ed woke me up, I'd dropped off in the armchair I'll help with his school work tomorrow when we're both in the mood. He's playing with his leap pad so I suppose that's educational

DH is home now so he can take the household reins. I'll pop back tomorrow.

Have good evenings All

Afternoon All GO I thought it was fab when we woke up to snow this morning, am very peeved that it has gone now.
EHM thanks I was pretty pleased with myself as I often struggle to do much beyond the kitchen during the week
luda hope the kids enjoyed their party
waves to simply thm and jas

Had a fairly relaxed day today as I'm working overtime tomorrow morning, I will be in work at 7 .

Done

quick tidy of bedroom
quick tidy of kitchen
scrubbed a bit of grout in the bathroom - by the way my top tip is if you use those facial cleansing things that are like a little pocket do your face with them while you are in the shower and before you chuck them in the bin do your grout, works wonders
lamb and smoky aubergine salad made for lunch
been out to by friend a birthday present and a few other bits
just got home and done the finances - cue yet another huge row chez Bewilderbeast
Going to make some sort of tart for tea
then its bath time, bed time for ds and I'm going to chill out with some booze

TheMadHouse · 02/02/2008 18:21

Evening Ladies

Ds2 has been sick again, so baths for the two boys and they are ready for bed, ready books and doing jigsaw puzzels (quite time).

I have just put another load in the washer. Its the bedding thats the killer, washing pillows and getting them dry etc. He is only in growbags, so that is not too bad really - could be worse, it could be duvets.

I am hoping that it is just beacuse he has a nasty cold. I have given him some medised, to try to dry up his nose a bit.

Groucy and BWB The best things often leave you crying out for more - not a lyric that one.

I am going to do mince, onions and yorkshire instead of chicken tomorrow, so I may prep it all and pop in the slow cooker tonight.

Home made pizza for me and Dh for supper.

Oh and guess what - my mum rang and offered to babysit tonight (she has never done this ever) and it is a year since me and DH havbe been out, but with DS2 unwell - we had to deline . Whats betting she never offers again, as I turned her down

DontDreamItBeIt · 02/02/2008 18:57

Evening.

DS managed to get onto the table and smear weetabix on dd1s homework before I got to him this morning.

Oddly, I've been sorting books wih the dc, too. I have a sack full of grl books and baby books that ds is not remotely interested in to go to the charity shop.

Not much else done today though.

DP washed up - He never washes up! - so most of evening routine is done.

I've dried my washing on the line today, while you've all had snow

Lmccrean · 02/02/2008 19:08

Evening ladies - Ive had the day off so far, just washed dishes before we went into town. I decided (finally) to give up tesco for a month and see how I go. So, this morning was spent going into and chatting to staff in a load of shops in my local "town" (its awful) Two bakeries, one okay butchers (had brief chat with him to find out where his stuff comes from, and he told me hes moving across the road, so more room and is going to expand to locally made jam and bread) and one greengrocer with v ropey fruit and veg. the huge tesco is 10 mins walk from the town, so likely to have an impact. Will be spending some time tonight looking into local organic box schemes and finding health food shops...unfortunately, northern ireland seems pretty slow on the uptake

Also found a charity shop I didnt know existed, and dd chose 2 fab elc games plus mouse trap, all for £3 Tis nice cause they havent spent loads fitting it out with fancy shelves etc like some do

Oh, and found a teeny craft shop...but managed to walk away with only something dd had chosen from her pocket money. phew

Then went to cinema and got bus home - took us to 5pm.

I realise most of that should have been on another thread in um..Other Subjects? But its sort of about being organised...no really, it is!...lol

Now, gonna iron til dd finishes jigsaw (gives me about 30 mins)
make lunch for work tomorrow
do dishes and S+S
mop/vacuum (will be trying soda crystals for floor!)
and thats me.

Grouchyoscar · 02/02/2008 19:21

LMC Charity shops are fantastic aren't they? Ed looks like the spoiltest kid around and most stuff has been picked up for under a quid at charity shops.

Then you go to Toys R us or ELC and seee the same things at £14.99 a throw you feel rather smug.

Hello to all. Sorry I can't post for long now but wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you, esp go and TMH's ds2. Hi to EHM. We don't seem to be on here the same time very much, do we? Bb Sorry to hear of the finances row.

ludaloo · 03/02/2008 07:49

Morning

Have internet connection this morning!! Was off all day yesterday

Sleepover was fine thankyou EHM My friends DD2 is only 3, and I was a bit worried she might not settle, but she has been absolutely fine She has had a tummy ache though, and got into our bed last night as her tummy hurt, she seems fine again this morning.

Kids had a good time at the party too, thanks for asking Bewilder. DD1 won Pin the tail on the Donkey, and DS won musical statues!
DD2 was very put out.

I did my food shop yesterday afternoon, and bought myself Davina's new Fitness DVD. I haven't done it yet but it looks great.
We hired Chicken Little for DS and friend to watch. It was sooooooo cute, she fell asleep on DS, right on his shoulder, whilst watching the dvd. DH laughed and laughed, and told DS he'd get used to his girlfriends falling asleep! LOL.

Well, Friend is comming sometime later this morning to pick her up, and drop my DD1 home, so I am in all day today. Need to catch up on some housework, do my fitness dvd, and get the kids stuff ready for school.

DD2 Starts nursery on Tuesday I can't believe it!

No snow here...I'm quite pleased about that actually....I usually love the snow, but I don't fancy it this year...I'm sick of winter, and just want the sun.
It is just cold and very wet

well if I can get back on...I'll catch you all in a bit

TheMadHouse · 03/02/2008 07:55

Morning Luda and waves to SImply

Both the boys are up and dressed. DS2 had a rough night and I have more bedding in the wash. I had just managed to get him back off to sleep when DS1 woke him up erg it was 6.45. I think the sickness is down to the coughing.

I am considering ringing the out of hours doctors, as he is not well.

Not much on today, but we really need to go to farm and get the VAT done and start on the books. DH does the VAT and between us we sort the books.

I glad all went OK with the party and the sleep over luda

Simply · 03/02/2008 08:16

Hello to all. I've been awake since 6.30am again. I'm still not sleeping properly.

luda I've got big dark grey clouds passing me in a westwards direction. Are you sending them to me? I don't mind anyway because they seem to be passing through quickly. Maybe it'll dry up and become sunny later? Sorry, scrub that. I've just checked the weather and you and I are due heavy rain today. Ah, well. I hope your dd2 enjoys nursery. I remember the first day I left dd in nursery. Leaving a building without a child to care for, for the first time in years must have been a big event for me to remember it as I don't seem to remember much about anything! Try to have something planned to occupy you for the first time she is there so you'll be distracted with some activity.

TMH Sorry to hear that ds2 is still unwell. I hope you are able to be seen by the doctor as you have concerns.

Right. I am very fed up of tippy-toeing around the house each morning so that I don't wake others. It's such a waste of time. At least I've had brekkie, put a load of washing on and I think I'll do some work on the PC. I have some things to reply to. See you later!

ludaloo · 03/02/2008 08:32

simply yep it is just beginning to rain quite hard...has been that awful drizzle.
Thankyou, I shall have to find something to do in the 2 1/2 hours she is gone [gulp] I don't think I have EVER had 2 1/2 hours without at least one of the kids!!!!
It might be a good chance for me to do my fitness dvd
I have the opposite problem to you in the mornings....I never ever get up before everyone else! The kids were all up at 6.45 this morning. DH has been up quite late redesigning his buisness literature etc. so he can have a lie in today.

ludaloo · 03/02/2008 08:34

mad I hope ds gets well again very soon. I hate it when they are ill. I know that awful cough too well too....and how it makes the poor mites sick. I would call the doctor if you are concerened...will put your mind at rest if nothing else

BiancaCastafiore · 03/02/2008 08:41

Morning

TMH I hope you can see a doctor - your poor ds2 Have a good day (if that's possible with a poorly one x)
Luda dd2 starting nursery has come round quickly! Is she excited about it? And how about you, are you looking forward to some time to yourself? How often will she go?
simply hello, good to see you

Dh has gone out already today so the kids and I are on our own. Dd wants to go swimming but I'm not sure I'll manage the two of them in the pool on my own (ds is nervous and dd over-confident) I may ring round and see if someone can come along with us, otherwise we'll find something else to do. Dd has Christmas money to spend and we have a couple of childrens birthdays coming up so we could do with getting to a toy shop...
I need to do soem laundry (as always) and a little bit of pottering round to maintain the general order of the place but that'll do for today....although, thinking about it I could also do with doing a weekly shop....wonder if the kids'll co-oporate if I suggest that?unlikely I think!

Right, better get up and dressed.
Back later x

ludaloo · 03/02/2008 09:15

Morning Bianca

It has come around quickly! I think (I hope) she will be fine. My good friend (who's DD2 I have ATM)Is the new leader. The lady who worked there before (and was horrid) has left!! Hoorah! So my friend has taken over as leadaer. It is great, as DD2 loves her to bits, and will stay with her quite happily. (she looks after her while I have my welsh lessons) Another friend has taken over the helper position and she is just as lovely, and together they have made the nursery a much nicer place to be.

I think DD2 will be fine.

I am actually looking forward to the few hours of peace. I'd like to use that time of a morning to do some excercising, as I can't get any done while the kids are around. I could build it into my routine then.

She only goes 3 days a week at the moment, until she turns 3, then she can go for 4 days.

Have a good day today...whatever you end up doing. I did my weekly food shop yesterday with all 3 kids...nightmare!!!
