Mission

Day 21

OP posts:
ludaloo · 25/01/2008 06:30

Morning All,

I was woken at 5.45 this morning by DD2...closely followed by DS!
Decided it would be less stress to just get up rather than have then both get in our bed and wriggle and fart around for an hour or so.
DD1 woke up not long after we came down too.

The older two have a disco after school (In Wales it is "Santes Dwynwen" which is their Valentines) DD1 (at 6 years old it makes me ) already has a boyfriend..called Reece, and she is very excited! Has told me how they are going to dance together and EVERYTHING! He is in class 2...so I shall be keeping an eye on him! LOL!
DS wants to be Spiderman...but I have had to explain that it won't really set the mood if he goes as Spiderman!

I'm at home all morning, and am going to attempt to take DD2 swimming again A friend and her DD2 is comming today, so I won't feel so when DD2 screams blue murder! and hopefully if she sees my friends DD2 going in, she might want to try.....we'll see! I don't have to rush back either, as I don't pick the other two up until 5.30pm.

Then Its a whizz home, get changed and go to Keep Fit!

busy busy busy!

My friend is picking me up at about 1.30pm for swimming, so I have the morning at home to do a tidy.

Morning

Hi HN Good to see you back (I was shouldbe)
Enjoy your swim Luda FGS* hope work goes OK
TMH music and movement sounds fun

I've had a horrible morning
Dd was messing about in a daydream not getting dressed, I eventually got cross which then prompted an awful sobbing account of how awful school is and how several boys in her class are being really quite mean to her at playtime it was awful to suddenly hear quite how bad things were for her. She says she's lonely at playtimes because by the time she's dealt with the boys pinching her hat/scarf/shoes in the cloakroom and got out to play, the girls have already started a game and won't let her join in so then she sings and dances on her own (bless her ) for a while before the boys see her on her own again and start to take her hat/scarf again
Spoke to the teachers this morning who are aware of all this to a certain extent. They're going to move her peg away from the boys to hopefully avoid the probs in the cloakroom and make sure a girl friend waits for her to come and play before they go out and start a game without her. I hope it does the trick.
I've been feeling tearful since leaving her, and horrible for being cross with her in the first place this morning I love my dd but she does frustrate me (she's such a dreamer, and can't seem to focus on getting on) I know I am irritable with her sometime and feel really bad about it Any tips on keeping my patience?

Anyway! She has chosen a friend to come and play today - a v sweet little girl we don't know v well. So I need a great activity to do with them at home after school - any ideas?

Must get the housework sorted too. Got most things tidy yest so need to hoover and dust today...oh, and strip the beds...

Back later x

gibberish · 25/01/2008 09:54

Aw bianca So sorry to hear about your bad morning, and how upset about school dd is...

Can't give you any tips I'm afraid with mine not being at school. But at least the school are aware of it now. Let's hope they nip it in the bud...

Busy busy day. Not going to get much painting done Off in 10 mins to take the girls to their art group. Then rush home, grab some lunch then we are all having a family afternoon out at the new fancy cinema that has just opened here Seats are on special offer which is why we can afford all of us to go! Going to see 'Enchanted'.

Speak to you later. Have a good day! x

EHM · 25/01/2008 09:58

Morning Everyone

luda maybe your lo's have contact with Ellie we where also awake & up at this time.enjoy the swimming. at your dd having a boyfriend how sweet. A super hero could be romantic saving a damsal in distress
TMH movement & music sounds great fun. have a fabby time
FGSHope work goes well & you enjoy your weekend away.
bianca so on your & dd's behalf & also very after reading your post. What if dd & her little friend made friendship bracelets? Dont be too hard on yourself, you are a great mum both dc's knw you love them. I don't have great patience & I too can be irritable with ellie & she's only 20 months Hope you day improves & the school keep a closure eye on dd.
gibberish any news on the braxton hicks?

Hello everyone to follow! My back today feels the best it has since being pregnant & having Ellie. Can't believe the difference after one session.

EHM · 25/01/2008 09:59

gibberish have a fab time at the cinema

ludaloo · 25/01/2008 10:16

Bianca awww and for your DD. She is such a little poppet, how awful she is having a hard time. I think you definately did the right thing by talking to the school, and like gibb says...lets hope they nip it in the bud.
Don't feel too bad about this morning, you weren't to know.
Maybe this evening you could make cup ckes or something with them? (I know my DD1 would love to do that with a friend)...if you can bear the mess! Friendship bracelets are also a great idea.
And I agree with EHM you are a lovely mum...you don't have any less patience than the rest of us believe me.

EHM So glad your back feels better. The sessions must be doing the trick
I did actually think about Spiderman being a hero type (the upside down kiss and all that!) But when DS is Spiderman, he is more the "charge around trying to fly" type!

Oooooh Gibb let us know if it is any good! (my kids want to see it too)

Right well..
~Hoover
~Empty Bin done
~Attack the cooker (It keeps setting the fire alarm off every time I cook!)done
~More washing
~Unload and reload the D/W done and its running with all the dirty oven trays in it (gosh, doing a whole sentance highlighted is a mare!)

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 25/01/2008 10:27

Thanks, but I'm not a very good mum, I have no patience these days, I snap at dd over every little thing And I'm so with myself for not realising how bad things were at school - we knew she had probs with one boy and I should have asked her more about it sooner. Her hat comes home muddy all the time and I tell her off for not taking care (she's so clumsy!) when it turns out it's these wretched bioys throwing her hat in the mud Poor dd said she even tried to tell one boys mum how mean he was after school one day but she wouldn't listen
And it's maths and spelling test day today, she hates Fridays and the pressure of tests

My house is getting a good clean cos I'm so and

We'll probably make cup cakes or cookies. I haven't got anything to make friendship braclets with today, but may keep that in mind for next time.

Yaddayah · 25/01/2008 12:06

Cakes or cookies excellent idea
Bianca you sound like a lovely mum to me (I too am guilty of the snapping thing .. arn't most people ?)

Well I'm doing well this morning: HAVE

Dusted main bedroom
Sorted out big box of clothes and repatriated
Ignored ds's soldiers as they're guarding his room whilst he's at school

Arggh got to go and pick up dd .. back later !

Grouchyoscar · 25/01/2008 12:32

Grouchyoscar · 25/01/2008 12:39

Just had a call from school, Ed's just started with the D that goes with the V , Lovely! Got to collect him

Nutsaboutchocolate · 25/01/2008 12:42

Hi luda FGS bianca and everyone else.

bianca Dont be too hard on yourself. Sometime we make mistakes as long as we learn from them and can make thing better then its a good side. Sometimes mistakes need to be made to find out what we have done wrong. Like you today with your DD. If you never got upset with her, you still would not know she was so unhappy at school. You know now and can do things to make things better. I dont know why the school did not tell you though that there were unhappy times at school for your DD.

Cooking sounds a great idea for this afternoon. Most children like to cook and then eat what they have cooked.

Today I have done.
Cleaned all the work tops in the kitchen
but
Then DD and me done some cooking so made a little mess again. All cleaned up though.

We made dinner for tonight. Chicken cottage pie. Yummy and the DC love it. The veg is ready for cooking later.

Then we made a pineapple upside down cake. DC love that with custard.

Mum is taking DD out later to the park while it is nice out (though very cold out) and will get DSs from school while I have a little nap. I have to rest in the afternoons or I feel so tired but 5pm and then the aches and pains set in.

I might see you again later.

Take care
HN xx

EHM · 25/01/2008 13:05

HN can come to your for tea sounds yummy!
gibberish how wonderful I am not ashamed to say I shed a little tear of joy when I read the post on the thread.

EHM · 25/01/2008 13:18

anyway grouchy take care of you & hope little ed is on the mend again very soon.

TheMadHouse · 25/01/2008 14:43

Afternoon all

I have not managed much today, took the boys to Music and movement, did lunch and then had to lie down.

I am so cold and head bloody hurts. I have to collect a delivery and then we will all just snuggle - wish I didnt have to out it is so windy.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 25/01/2008 14:44

Bianca - what's important is that your DD told you know and you can deal with it together. Sounds like being a good mum to me.

we're off to my parents this weekend so not exactly a holiday....

IndigoMoon · 25/01/2008 14:54

It's 3pm Friday, Mark Kermode is on Radio 5 and I think it's my time now. Got to sit down anyway as legs are going flaky again. Oi Boris, back in your box NOW

ludaloo · 25/01/2008 15:52

back from swimming DD2 actually got in! Clung to me for dear life...but at least she got in! No tears either (she did sit on the wall for the first 10 mins though)

I'm going to get supper ready for when the kids come out at 5.30, then quick settle them eating so I can go to keep fit at 6pm

Bianca I know it all feels really awful now, but you have done all the right things...and I like what HN said...you'd have never have known would you...cheer up, and enjoy your cakes...give her lots of huggles and you'll both feel better. Hopefully her day at school has been ok now the teachers know.
Poor thing...give her a hug from me xx
