Just realised we filled up Thread 2 without a way to link to this one, can’t see that anyone else has started one?

I did drop back the borrowed boots, go me!

didn’t tackle the umbrella pot/dumping ground though

stealth that stuff's all good. I think that's because of living in a small space.
sorry, I realise maybe this isn't the right thread? I do need to sort stationery and art stuff next, so I think those are my jobs for the week - thank you for saying stationery, I do need to sort that.

EllieQ · 12/02/2023 23:36

Back to the age 4-5 clothes today and put three 3 pairs of joggers, 3 dresses, and 1 pair of PJs into the charity bag. That seems to be the last of the age 4-5 clothes, unless there are more lurking somewhere! But I think I have done most types of clothes (dresses, tops, leggings, joggers etc), so that should be all.

Onto the age 5-6 clothes next. I know some are in the box of outgrown clothes, some are in the bottom of the wardrobe, and some are still in the drawers, so my first task will be to gather them all together.

Oh stationery. I spent a time the other day doing this. Im a notebook hoarder apparently. So. In the spirit of use it or lose it I took a load into work for my desk so I can use up instead of the boring ones we have in our work cupboard.

dowsnt help that a wonderful client of mine bought me a new stash of moleskine notebooks as a Christmas new years gift. All the limited edition lunar new year of the rabbit designs. So so cute. Big books and small books.

anyway. Do the stationery.

Pineappleapple · 13/02/2023 12:33

Charity shop drop off this morning and managed to part with the handbag I mentioned. I walk so only drop off what I can fit in the pram. Glad to have got that done.

IndianSummer78 · 13/02/2023 17:53

Three pyjama tops and four bottoms to the textile recycling.

One magazine read and recycled.

One used up mascara gone.

Total is 83.

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 13/02/2023 18:58

Binned two crumbling rubber rings (dog toys)
Pack of six dried-up water bombs.

LivingInaBuildingSite · 13/02/2023 19:20

Hot water bottles have a flower sign printed on them that tells you their manufacture date. I forget how long they’re meant to last but a Google will tell you. I realised mine was made about 15 years ago which is waaay longer than you’re meant to keep them so I binned it. Have just used DDs since as she forgets she has one.

some random crap listed on FB was collected this morning:
5 plant pots
a bottle of weed killer stuff with a spray thing
too small wellies

i started my new training for my new job and it was good, phew, first day over!

Given away via local FB group: scanner (we have a printer that scans so no need to have a separate scanner too); four rubber belts for a Dyson we no longer have.

More shredding done. A few books in charity shop box.
I went through a box of computer CDs. DH took some to work to shred in their industrial shredder. Some we are keeping, but at least they all fit in the storage box now.

I felt we were doing quite well with the getting rid, then DH brought back another three crates and a small filing cabinet that were in our NDN's garage. So we start he starts again.

LifeOfBriony · 13/02/2023 21:27

@LivingInaBuildingSite Glad the first day in your new job went well!

IndianSummer78 · 14/02/2023 02:19

Binned a pair of knickers with all shredded elastic 🥴 I don't even know how that happens. Total is 84

I bought a new hot water bottle a few years ago when I realized the old one was stamped "Made In West Germany" and thought I might be pushing my luck a bit! Quality lasts, luckily for me 😆

ememem84 · 14/02/2023 06:44

Pulled some things from my wardrobe yesterday for charity bag.

I worked out I have two of a lot of things. Two pink wool jumpers (same colour) same with sandy beige ones. Kept the one I wear most. Bagged up others. Same with button down shirts. Kept the ones that fit properly.

ins yeatersay. I visited oaoerxhase and picked up a few more notebooks. In the closing sale. Sad face. But I will use them.

Gassylady · 14/02/2023 09:59

Bag of outgrown (but barely worn) kids pyjamas to a charity shop along with three cookery books. More socks to fabric recycling bag along with some very loved and worn to threadbare tea towels. Started another bag with several pairs of now too big shorts I won't need this summer but these will need to be replaced

stealthninjamum · 14/02/2023 11:07

The hot water thing bothers me, dd2 had a fluffy one that she loves and I have a feeling she will never let me throw it away so I know that is clutter waiting to happen.

livinginabuildingsite well done on your first day.

I am still sorting out Lego, Duplo and also playmobil. I advertised a playmobil furniture set yesterday, all boxed with instructions, and no one’s interested yet. I think I said a few weeks ago that people don’t seem to want to buy things that would normally go like hotcakes. Oh well at least I feel like I’m giving a good, well looked after toy to a charity shop.

I am still chucking out ‘bits of crap’ that got in the toy boxes like feathers, dolls shoes that have long gone, old pictures, woolly fluff, unidentifiable plastic crap really.

I’ve also got so many books to go with ziffit that they don’t fit the four boxes I got from sainsburys. I use wine boxes as they fit a good number but don’t get so heavy they split / I can’t carry them. So I need to go to sainsburys every day so I can get some more. They don’t seem to have them every day.

Anyway total 283 / 2023

Hope you recover asap Flowers

I thought I was coming down with something last night as I was dropping with tiredness. So no tasks done. Of course, when I left this morning I had that urge to just to do a bit of cleaning...anyway, out tonight and I think tomorrow and Friday too. But the little I did last night cleared my brain a bit.

BigMacExtraPickles · 14/02/2023 18:29

Oooooh hello lovely thread 😍

IndianSummer78 · 14/02/2023 19:13

One coat that doesn't fit to the charity bag.

Pineappleapple · 14/02/2023 20:03

More tidying than anything today, must try harder tomorrow! Lots of bits of rubbish gone though, like the top of some bubbles etc. All helps I suppose.
Welcome big Mac.
Hope you feel better soon separated mum

seperatedmum · 15/02/2023 10:53

thanks @EmmaEmerald
@stealthninjamum is it the actual hot water bottle DC's attached to or the cover? could you just replace the actual hot water bottle?

my microwave seems to break plates so one's gone but that's a neutral coz I'll have to replace it 😕
the olio-er isn't coming 🙈

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 15/02/2023 13:02

Yesterday's declutter -

Bed and underbed storage dismantled and taken to flat.
One pair of shorts and a jersey claimed and rehomed.

Eight fruit crates finally left the garage to be taken to pyo farm.

Boardgame to family member for any visiting dc.
Three dud lightbulbs waiting to find out how to dispose safely.

Skater's too-small kneepads in donation pile.

I'm quite tired today. I had to make all the decisions. Only the busted lightbulbs could conceivably be called my responsibility, and that's because I'd prefer not to fall down the stairs.

Anyway, stuff got out the house.

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 15/02/2023 13:08

Oh forgot another thing that was mine to decide about. Four stacking storage tubs! I said if they stay in the house I'll find something to put in them instead of discarding/donating. They are now with the person who is moving flats. Huge win for me!

IndianSummer78 · 15/02/2023 15:20

Went through a drawer unit and recycled a pile of tissue paper which I received gradually as packaging inside deliveries. I'm never going to use it for anything so out it went and I now have an empty drawer. Total is 86 (I'm counting the whole pile as one).

IndianSummer78 · 15/02/2023 22:25

Went through the hallway cupboard.

🗑️ Random bit of string type thing binned, no idea what it was for.
🗑️ Electronic pest repeller, given as a housewarming gift (yes my relatives are weird) 10 years ago but never used, donated to a friend who currently has mice.
🗑️ Obsolete Kodak Advantix camera into the electronics recycling. It's a decent camera but film was discontinued in 2011! So it's time to go.

Total is 89.

IndianSummer78 · 15/02/2023 22:38

3 instruction manuals for equipment I no longer have. Total is 92.

EmmaEmerald · 15/02/2023 22:40
