Sorry! Its Babysteps Day 13!

(Not with it yet!)

Morning Everyone

I had a busy day yesterday, so hopefully today is a bit less hectic.
I went to welsh, had to go up to school to get DD1, who had complained of sore eyes, and them fallen asleep on the mat! I bought her home and gave her some calpol and she fell asleep on the sofa. She seems absolutely fine this morning, no sore eyes and full of beans, so I have no idea what that was!

Went to my first keep fit session too last night....oh my do I ache this morning!!!

I have also realised that it was probably the large amounts of Coke I drank which gave me sleeping problems. I watched a programme on the effects of high caffeine levels, and sleep problems was one of them. I haven't touched a drop of coke since New Year's Eve, and I am sleeping soooooo much better! I would wake at the slightest noise and then not be able to sleep for hours after, and I'd wake up knackered, drink more coke to perk me up...and so the cycle went on.
These days I go to bed and I'm dead to the world! I woke this morning to find DD2 in our bed, and DH asleep in her bed....I have no idea what went on as I didn't hear either of them come in or out!
Its all good!

Anyway....better go and get dressed....if I can manage to walk up the stairs! My legs are killing me!

Morning Luda thanks for the thread. Well done you going to keep fit I really need to start something as my baby tummy is getting biggerGlad you are sleeping better & dd is ok.
TMH thinking of baby L.

Weather is awful here today so I think we maybe house boundDue to meet friend with twins bot we will have to rearrange.
Mission wise I wipe out & empty the bin each day as part of my s & s. It so Ellie doesn't empty the contents of the bin. Ellie's room was decluttered last week as was the remainder of the house so my mission for today is to wash footmuff/nappy bag of my arial buggy & scrub the buggy to put in loft.
Done most of my morning routine & Tuesday Routine wise will be kitchen day.
Will be back with a list.

Hello to all that follow

Off to change a very stinky bottom[pongy]

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 08:47

Morning Guys.

Glad you're sleep problems are better Luda. You may find you lose weight too as coke is full of sugar

We've cancelled trip out and have friends coming over instead as the weather is so bad. Have to go to hospital this afternoon for DD1's eye check up though so hope it stops raining

Busy morning. Any advice for me about buggyboard connectore removal or DD2's spotty mouth most welcome

Morning routine complete. DH back late tonight so may get chance to do mission too.

Shannaratinger · 15/01/2008 08:54

Morning everyone

Luda well done on the keep fit, hope your muscles recover soon . Will remember that about the caffeine, think DP has too much as his sleeping sounds just like yours.
EHM the weather is awful here too, hopefully will clear up by the time i have to take dd to playschool.

I've got my course today so will be staying at playschool and having a picnic.
Am still trying to get DD to eat her breakfast, has been eating it since 7:45 , then can do the washing up.

The w/m has just finished.

I am also going to buy a polariod camera for my neice and give her one of my scrap books. L is really poorly scans reveled blow brain function and my SIl is so angry as it looks like it is down to medical negligence (half cm progression in over 13 hours and she was begging for a section)

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 09:24

Welcome Indigomoon. Hope we can help motivate

TMH - everyone will be very angry at the moment I'm sure. The scrapbook is a nice idea.

Well I've managed to tidy up the living room enough for visitors and have run a babywipe over every surface so it doesnt look dusty anymore

TheMadHouse · 15/01/2008 09:44

~Kitchen S&Swiped
~D/W unloaded/reloaded and running
~All dirty clothes picked up

Whole house needs a good vaccum...will start upstairs...do the stairs, then do downstairs.

Clean landing window and front doors plus big window beside it. (too much to do allthe windows in one go, involves gymnastics and something simliar to circus solie).
breakfast dishes in dishwasher.
bed tidy.
windows open.

better check out the missions I suppose. Then do some studying.

Scramble · 15/01/2008 10:43

Ok I have emptied the bathroom bucket so I suppose I could clean it .

BiancaCastafiore · 15/01/2008 10:44

Morning

I droPped the kids at school and went straight out to the supermarket so now need to get the fridge cleaned and everything put away.
Very very wet here this morning, lots of flooding on the roads to and from the supermarket.

TMH the scrap book is a great idea x
Luda well done on the keep fit!
FGS I still buy babywipes to use a dusters in a hurry
Indigo, sleepycat welcome
shanna hope the course goes well.
EHM have a good day

I need to have a bit of a go at dds bedroom today so will plan that once the shopping is put away.

I must not forget to sort some bits for dds art project at school - will someone remind me later please?!

ludaloo · 15/01/2008 11:33

I have now hoovered the whole house top to bottom...and have just realised, as I started just after my last post, it has taken me an hour!!!!

I can't belive it was an hour! Ah well its done now.

Going to have a breather, and have a nice cold juice

BiancaCastafiore · 15/01/2008 11:34

Yay, holiday booking has just been confirmed

Just watching this extremely brave mum on This Morning who gave her daughters organs for donation after she died. Amazing.
I need my dd to cuddle now

Better go and tackle her bedroom instead and make it all nice for when she gets home from school

Janni · 15/01/2008 11:38

Hello all. Welcome to indigomoon and sleepycat To do:
mission - will tackle DS toys as part of that
-hang laundry and put dry away
-change beds I HATE CHANGING BEDS. What's the least often I can get away with without being considered a slob?? Alternatively, does anyone have any tips for making it a nicer job?

BiancaCastafiore · 15/01/2008 11:47

Tort if you come on later (I would txt but my mobile is playing up) - I have several pairs of girls tights, would you like them?

Hmmm.....I have taken over the running/planning of the schools Gardening Club. (Its after school on a Tuesday)

I've been looking on the internet for inspiration.
For our first meeting we are going to make Scrap Books. We only have about 45 mins each week so hopefully we can get these made tonight, and then each week we can draw a picture of what we have been doing!

Next week we are going to make Cheerio bird feeders (involves threading Cheerios onto some string tied to a stick at one end, and then hanging up on trees for the birds) And of course they can draw a picture of their feeder for their books.

All sounds great on paper but trying to get 15 4-7 year olds to do it is a completely different matter!

BiancaCastafiore · 15/01/2008 12:34

well done Luda the ideas fo ryour gardening club sound great Our school has the occasional gardening weekend for parents and children to get involved in but nothing after school. They do the odd bit within school time though, including growing some veg which are then added to the school dinners

I've cleared and tidied dds wardrobe, drawers and desk I was worried that her clothes were getting really messy and over-crowded but actually it was just stored badly and put away in a hurry ( I do hate putting laundry away)

On to do the wardrobe in ds room next, although I think I may need him with me to try things on...I'll make a start and see how I get on.

Yaddayah · 15/01/2008 14:26

Well I should be sorting the house but instead i'm worrying about this

ds hearing

Its knocked the wind out of me a little bit .. I know its only minor.. but hes my baby...

MIL is due round in half and hour and the house is tip better get on...

madhouse goes without saying I'm wishing all the best for baby Lincoln

Janni · 15/01/2008 14:51

Yadda - sorry to hear about that. There were some good ideas on the other thread, I hope you get some help/reassurance.

Luda - well done!!

I seem to be always busy in the flat and yet there's always more to do..It really gets me down. My middle child is SO messy and so difficult to train - his room is a constant challenge, shall we say!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 14:57

Yaddah - hope you get the hearing issue sorted. Might it be that he just cant concentrate in group situations?

We're back from hospital for DDs eye appointment. The glasses are correcting her vision which is good. She may have a slight squint which is not so good.

EHM · 15/01/2008 15:20

FGS hope that barrier cream helps with dd2's wee face. Ellie has similar when she is teething I use vaseline really works.Good news about dd1's eyesight being corrected with the glasses.
indigomoon welcome hope you find fly threads as motivating as I do.They really are a lovely bunch of ladies.I've said it before but I say it again couldn't do it without them
