BiancaCastafiore · 14/01/2008 08:04

Not a very nice mission to start the week I'm afraid.
Are babysteppers on Day 12?

BiancaCastafiore · 14/01/2008 08:05

I'm going into work today so will be heading straight out after the school drop off.

Any news of the baby and mum TMH?

Hope you all have a good day, see you later.

Morning Guys.

I managed to give the bathroom a S&S this morning. The rest of my morning routine is dine.

I'm working this morning and we have a lunch date so I'll try and tackle the kids rooms this afternoon. They need doing so this is a good zone for me this week.

Hope you're all ok.

TMH - hope you get some positive news today.

Shannaratinger · 14/01/2008 08:19

Morning everyone

TMH Hope Mum and baby are doing ok.
Bianca & FGS hope u have a good day at work.

Did the mission Sat am whilst mopping the floor. Have really got to try and get everything back in order and done before Friday.
Morning routine nearly done, just waiting for w/m to finish, bit late putting on this morning. DD is "to busy at the moment to get dressed", why were we worried when she wasn't talking?
Better go and 'persuade' her.

BBL

Shannaratinger · 14/01/2008 08:29

X post
how many times a week does everyone clean the bathroom/ kitchen floor & hoover the living room?

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2008 08:32

Morning all

Thanks for the thoughts. No update this am, neice still hasnt seen the baby yet, although he does have a name Lincoln. He is still in an incubator and in critial condition. As soon as she is allowed more visitors I am going to go along with the pressies I already bought for her and Linclon. I think that we should try and be a little bit normal.

We are at playgroup this morning and I must pop in to the shop and get somemore milk and bread before we come home for lunch.

I will do the mission once DS2 is in bed. with DS1 now using the loo this is more important. I will do the downstairs and the ensuite too at the smae time I think if I have time.

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2008 08:39

I only hoover the living room once a week, but I have hard fllors downstairs and sweep it if necessary after each meal, as the boys are so messy.

Again re the bathrooms and kitchen, once a week major on a thursday and when necessary. The bathroom gets so wet after baths that I wipe it off with the floor mat and wash the mat.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/01/2008 08:46

I really shouldnt be on her

I hoover downstairs 2 x a week and upstairs I try once a week. I clean bathroom properly once a week and then S&S as much as I remember.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/01/2008 08:46

Scramble · 14/01/2008 10:17

Morning all,

Missions not too bad for me, young DS so I have to keep wiping there all the time .

I have Done a my Back to Rights routine (can't stand to call it home blessing) dusting round tops of doors and walls, hovver lampshades and quick hoover through house, wipe down work tops.

Wash on, well I can't hear the machine, must check I actually switched it on .

I hoover once a week but have a dustpan and brush and sweep up al the time.

Scramble · 14/01/2008 10:31

Ok Mission complete, even washed the loo brush holder. Hardly gets used but it is in the line of fire.

My "inventory" is complete in the bathroom so nothing to add to the shopping list there.

I managed to do a meal plan for this week and a shop yesterday, I am fes up with stuff going out of date but still never having anything for dinner, so I will plan ahead more.

EHM we will see you next week then once you get all that done .

Yaddayah · 14/01/2008 10:38

Morning all

So far I have done an hours walking and ordered presents for my best friends new baby .. born yesterday.

Have an hour before I pick up DD from nursery so had better get on !

Back with a progress report (i hope!)

Scramble · 14/01/2008 11:38

Just remembered I have a Bday card to get so I might combine it with a walk somewhere more interestng than my street. Should be studying right now .

Grouchyoscar · 14/01/2008 12:03

Morning ALL >

I've done my morning routines, done the ironing, tackled the laundry (2 loads in WM done, Load in the TD, house looks like a Chinese Laundry) and now there's just putting away to do.

I feel really odd today, just don't seem to have any focus or gumption, I seem like I am pottering on autopilot. Mind you I think I need to take it easy as I'm having AF from Hell atm. It's leaving me feeling feeble

Better pull my finger out and get something else done.

Grouchyoscar · 14/01/2008 12:04

Oh How Do to Scramble sorry I missed you

ludaloo · 14/01/2008 12:15

Morning everyone

I have read through, but forgotten what I was going to say!

TMH Hope your friend and her baby are ok.

Shannar I hoover the living room/downstairs once, sometimes twice daily (yes I know...but I'm a bit anal about crumbs and bits)
I have carpet in the bathroom (YUK...not by choice...we rent our house, and when we eventually have some spare cash, we might put something better down...along with the kitchen, which is also carpet) This gets hoovered twice a week...ish...

GO don't you go overdoing it today

Hi to everyone else too

I am all alone at the mo!!! Its weird!
DD2 has gone with my friend into town to do her shopping (she was going to have DD2 at 1pm while I go to welsh, but she wanted to leave a bit earlier, so took her at 11.30am)

I have already been into town to do my shopping, so poor old DD2 gets 2 shopping trips today! (although they are having a McDonalds so I don't think she will mind too much)

I have welsh at 1pm so have half an hour or so to have lunch and find all my books...and a pen pens are as rare as rocking horse poo in our house, no sooner do we have one, its lost and I end up scribbling notes down with wax crayons or ran out felt tips!

Anyway...catch you all later

Janni · 14/01/2008 12:24

Hello ALL
Scramble - well done for your meal plan. That's one of my aims one of these days!
Grouchy sorry you feel bad, today. I hate that feeling of having no get up and go.

Had a busy morning, still got loads to do.
Am in the middle of defrosting and cleaning the fridge.

To do: mission, laundry, move DDs cot out of her bedroom. That'll do for now. I've got poor DD doing the dusting - she thinks it's a treat. She just came and asked if she could dust me and dust her toes!

Question for people who are really on top of this housework lark:

Do you have specific jobs you do each day or do you do things when you see they need doing. I can't work out which is the better approach. If anyone DOES have a weekly routine that works, plese share!

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2008 12:38

Sorry ladies to burden you with this but the baby (they have named him Lincoln) is very unwell, he had a fit overnight and is on ventilation. He has a 50/50 chance.

I am so upset for both my neice and the rest of the family, can not bring myself to fly, infact I am off to cuddle DS1 on the sofa

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2008 12:39

he was 9lb 15oz

EHM · 14/01/2008 12:51

TMH hope the little fella is ok. how terrible for you & your family. especially the babies mum & dad.sending postive vibes.

padboz · 14/01/2008 12:53

Hullo - sorry to be ignorant - . new to mumsnet and been told to follow the fly lady thread - not sure how to find it .... Not sure what to do first - something to do with sinks apparently...?

padboz · 14/01/2008 12:56

oh god the madhouse just realised the juxtaposition of my meaningless question and your predicament - so sorry. I wish you and your family all the luck in the world.

must read from top to bottom before posting.

Sorry again

Janni · 14/01/2008 13:14

TMH so sorry for you all, hope he pulls through.

Padboz - welcome! I'm sure someone will come and explain how to start, there are 'babysteps' to follow and because Ia've plunged in somewhere in the middle I'm not the one to tell you how to do it!

Shannaratinger · 14/01/2008 13:18

Back again

TMH I am really sorry about Lincoln, am also sending loads of positive wishes.

Padboz Welcome, if you click on the Day12 link at the top it will take you to the website. On teh menu on the left click on Why Fly, this will start explaining it. Someone else will be able to help you better, but yes shining your sink is the first thing you do.
