I need a new vacuum cleaner and I'm so confused

My Dyson has had it so I am looking for a new vacuum cleaner.
I have 2 kids under 4 so there's a lot of mess and the hoover comes out at least once a day. A mixture of carpets and wooden floors. I fancy a Henry for the suction but I've heard it's crap on carpets. If not then Henry then I like the idea of a cordless vacuum, but which one? Any insight is appreciated! Budget is around £300.

Henry is great on carpets with the Airobrush accessory.

bellac11 · 21/05/2022 20:56

I will only use a Miele but then I havent bought a hoover for about 15 years, so I dont know if they're still the same.

Nitgel · 21/05/2022 20:59

I just bought a Miele C1 and it's far superior to any vacuum I've ever used inc a Dyson which continually clogged.

DysonFury1 · 21/05/2022 21:04

Thanks for the replies.
Miele C1 looks good and it's not that more expensive than a Henry...

Shark anti hair wrap, I love mine

anyoneseenmycarkeys · 21/05/2022 21:12

Samsung Jet 75 pet cordless vac is bloody marvellous! Particularly effective with dog hair....Hadn't realise quite how shite my previous vacuum was and how much crap was stuck in the carpets.😳 Got a deal online at Samsung.com with 15% off at the moment.

Houseplantmad · 21/05/2022 21:22

Another vote for a Miele. Brilliant machine.

ThingammyBob · 21/05/2022 21:24

I have the Shark lift away, I love it. It has brilliant suction and can be dismantled easily for cleaning.

JulesJules · 21/05/2022 21:29

Miele cat and dog here, it's brilliant.

Greatoutdoors · 21/05/2022 21:31

I’ve had Henry, Shark and Meile. Meile is my favourite- Shark’s anti hair wrap gets all tangled with hair, disappointingly, and Henry did my back in.

FleeceNavidadfromtheSheep · 21/05/2022 21:31

Have you considered a robot hoover? I love my Eufy even if it does get stuck under the sofa.

That plus a cordless Dyson for the stairs or a quick whizz round.

absolutelyknackeredcow · 21/05/2022 21:32

Henry's are great but bloody heavy

ozymandiusking · 21/05/2022 21:40

We have a vax, which is an upright. It's absolutely great, and cost about £70 a couple of years ago.

Tagliatelevision · 21/05/2022 21:41

Miele Cat & Dog fan here - far superior to Henry & Dyson which I've owned

SmiledWtherisingsun · 21/05/2022 21:44

Miele is the best. Imo.

DurhamDurham · 21/05/2022 21:48

We used to have Dyson vacuums but then got a Shark and it's absolutely brilliant. Much better suction than any other brand we've tried. Only minus is the stupidly small canister which needs emptying a lot more regularly than the Dyson ever did.

We had a robot vacuum cleaner as well but we sent it back as it spend most of it's time getting stuck.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 21/05/2022 21:49

Miele c3.

Sprig1 · 21/05/2022 21:49

Henry, absolutely.

GuyFawkesDay · 21/05/2022 21:56

I have a Miele C3. It's brilliant. I love it. Deals with 2 kids and a dog who I am surprised isn't bald yet, the amounts of hair he sheds. No fuzz, just really good vac.

Hocuspocus99 · 21/05/2022 21:58

I’m a cleaner and highly recommend a Sebo vacuum. Pick up is superb and easily to maintain yourself.

nearlyspringyay · 21/05/2022 21:58

Vax blade pet. I love it.

cowsaysmoo · 21/05/2022 22:02

MIELE.

strawberry2017 · 21/05/2022 22:05

Don't get a shark, i have never had to unblock a Hoover so much. It drives me mad

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 21/05/2022 22:07

Halo capsule. Quick and easy for regular whizz arounds. Cordless, equally good on carpet and hard floor.

Got it recently when my 12-year-old dyson died.

MysteryBandit85 · 21/05/2022 22:14

Another vote for Halo capsule (it’s cordless, light and works really well). I still have my old Dyson ( not cordless) as back-up but it never comes out the cupboard as Halo definitely does the job and is so much easier to use.
