Morning all

Off for my first cuppa pf the day. Ellie slept from 12pm until 715 this morning without waking. I know not impressive really given that she is nearly 20 months. Although impressive by Ellie's standards

Thanks for the links.Tesco direct had a few things more in our prce rang, but dp didn't like any f them. (Or any of my other ideas. He's decided he is making everything.

I'm going to paint the ceiling once ds is in bed.

TheMadHouse · 12/01/2008 19:43

evening all

I have had my 2 hours of peace at the hairdressers, but both the boys were screaming for me all morning and were little monsters with daddy. He took them out, but they all ended up coming back early as they were that bad.

So we had lunch and then went out and got a replacement remote for the TV as they had killed it. we also managed to get DS1 some boots and slippers in the clarks sale £18 in all - so not too bad. DS2's last week were £35 eekk

DS 2 is tucked up and DS1 will be soon just watching the end of a movie with daddy and then it is bathtime and relax for me.

I have the new James Patterson, so am planning a read fest.

DH commented that I am nesting, he thinks that it is incase I get a positive result.

TheMadHouse · 12/01/2008 19:44

Dream Argod are out of sock of loads at the mo - they told me it was to do with the new catelog and item numbers chanhing - it is due in a couple of weeks

tortoise · 12/01/2008 19:47

Argos book out nxt saturday so alot of stock will be out at the moment. Might find something better in the new book.

Janni · 12/01/2008 20:33

TheMadHouse - I'm getting my two hours peace at the hairdressers tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

I'm fed up with the state of our computer room/study. Really need to blitz it but just don't know where to start. It means I don't really enjoy being on the computer because I'm looking round seeing the mess and papers everywhere.

Kitchen is spotless though!!!

DontDreamItBeIt · 12/01/2008 20:40

Thanks tortoise and TMH I think I'll stop menioning it to dp, and see what there ois in the new book then.

Shannaratinger · 13/01/2008 08:12

Morning all

Dream is DP's DIY skills good enough or will you end up on DIY SOS?

Yesterday went eally well. We wnt out to lunch and both DC's behaved really well . Dad went off to a Mason's meeting and so Mum stayed until 6pm before going to pick him up therefore saw DP's parents as well.

Forgot to mention yesterday (or Friday can't remember). Did anyone see Martin Lewis's new money saving program:
petrolprices allows you to find the petrol prices of all the garages in your area.

Anyway cold is getting worse, so will take it easy today, except Tesco and Matalan of course.

TMH lol at DC's playing up for their dad.
Janni enjoy your 2 hours peace today

Have a good day.
BBL

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 08:12

Morning to you all

Janni hope you have a relaxing couple of hours this morning Going for anything different?

TMH I expect subconciously you might be nesting, your instinct would be to care for all your nearest and dearest I would think. I hope it all goes well anyway. xx

Bewilder Hello I haven't seen you around for a while. Did you have a good xmas? How is all the building work comming along? Hope you are feeling a bit better today

Jas, I know the feeling when your other half decides to "do it himself" our computer table is one he has done himself (from and old sideboard)

Well as it is sunday, I have promised myself I'll go easy on the Flying, I always end up doing more housework at the weekends, so really I don't ever get a break!
I am going to tidy until lunch time I think, then have a rest. I have to take a look at my welsh, and make a concerted effort to play with the kids for a bit. DH has to go to work for a while today, and Ds has been pestering to go out on his bike, so if it isn't wet, we'll do that this afternoon.

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 08:14

x posts...morning shannara
Have an easy day today too
(my dad is a Mason too!)

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 09:08

Right, we are all up and dressed (apart from dh)
I'm going to get stuck in for a couple of hours.
Washing needs to go in the machine
Breakfast things need clearing away
Living room needs tidying
Kitchen needs doing too
Bedrooms need straightening up also

Righty, better get on with it

Bewilderbeast · 13/01/2008 09:19

morning all

I'm just waiting for Ds's bottle to cool before I make dp and I a cuppa.

luda it's good to see you too I confess that once I went back to work in May I became the most useless flyer ever. I have decided that this year I am going to stick with it - even the veg lady has commented that the house is tidy . THe building work is done pretty much, the roof is still leaking despite a significant number of repairs grrr but it will all e sorted eventually I hope.

morning shannara EHM I hope ellie had a good night again

I have lots to do today flywise so I shall be back to post my list later.

have a good day

BiancaCastafiore · 13/01/2008 09:53

Morning

Good news this morning is that (after much deliberation) our holiday is booked Such a relief to have something sorted. We've spent a little more than we planned and gone for a large villa on an estate in N Cornwall (use of pool, tennis courts, general leisure facilities) We google-earthed it last night and it's in a great location fo rthe area we know and love

We're off swimming in a minute as part of our resolution to do more family stuff on Sundays

Morning all

Not do goof this am see this

I am livid, we are supposed to do family stuff too, but I can not face it today in the slightest

Grouchyoscar · 13/01/2008 11:43

TMH I have posted and I really sympathise. I should have learnt by now as he never helped with Ed's night feeds either

Hello ALL sorry I wasn't about yesterday. I was kind of busy then I had to have a nap at 3 ish as I'd overdone it

DH actually got up with Ed today and has told me I can stay in bed! (maybe my huffy session yesterday with him worked TMH?) SoI have. and my done list is

Dust the top of the towel cabinet

And that was only as Ed has taken an affection to the 'cuddly and soft' fluffy dusters I got yesterday. BTW FLY ladies, they are fab. so my lovelorn DS brought it to me to see. I thought 'better give that the once over before I chuck it away'

I'm going to get up after 'Just a minute' if it's on.

Grouchyoscar · 13/01/2008 11:47

Bianca Put the wheels in motion for booking ours yesterday too. Hope we get the week we've chosen. It was less than I'd budgeted for too which was nice. Thanks for the kick up the bum on Friday

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 12:07

Bianca your holiday sound lovely!

GO your dusters sound great, I need a new duster.

Madhouse you have my sympathy too...I have posted on your thread too....MEN!

Well the house has had a once over...took me a lot longer than I hoped, as upstairs was a pig sty.
I stopped half way through and decided to make a Malteser Cake, so that is in the fridge setting as I type!
Kids have been playing on Cbeebies so I have just got to the computer to find about a hundred pop ups all over the place!
I have tidied their room, which I think they are busy un-tidying for me.
Its raining and wet so we can't get out on the bikes. I might do jigsaws with them instead.

Janni · 13/01/2008 12:08

Hello ALL Bianca - congrats on getting holiday booked. Something to look forward to on these cold days!

TMH - sorry you had such a horrible start to the day. I liked Colditz' suggestion on the other thread. The trouble is our DHs see us ANGRY rather than fit to weep. I know mine just goes into a sulk if I'm angry but he's MUCH more helpful if he can see that I really am not coping and am fit to drop.

I've had a good morning. Luda - just the usual cut and colour but had my eyebrows/upper lip waxed too, which is the closest I ever get to a bit of glamour!!!

Kids have just gone out for a bit with DH. Need to tidy up then keep on with my mission of sorting out our computer room. I'm trying the 'ten minutes at a time' technique, so should be done by 2009

bossybritches · 13/01/2008 12:15

saunters in pretending not be terribly impresesed by all you efficient fly-ladies

I am an fledgling FL & have been dipping into the website for inspiration without going the whole FL hog just yet.

Errr..sad question but... anyone got the FL feather duster(s) are they as good as they seem? Also did you have to pay extortionate p&p to get them from the states. Can't seem to find out from the web-site?

(Can't believe I'm asking this question ......moi the ultimate NON Domestic Goddess???)

Grouchyoscar · 13/01/2008 12:19

They are great luda and they are on offer in Tesco atm. You can dust without having to move everything

Grouchyoscar · 13/01/2008 12:20

I'm getting up!

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 13:51

Hello Bossy I haven't got one, but I have always wondered about them too...they are ostrich feathers aren't they?
Grouchy was just saying though, she has got a good one from Tesco...no good for me though as our nearest Tesco is about an hour and a half drive away!

I have pigged out on Malteser Cake...which is not good....but I do start keep fit tomorrow. (It should be called GET Fit not Keep Fit!!!)

Bewilderbeast · 13/01/2008 14:16

hello again

done

been to tesco to pick up the bits I couldn't get from morrisons yesterday
Played with and read to ds
baked 'pizza' muffins for lunch today and tomorrow
made flapjack
washed up
dw unloaded and reloaded
wm unloaded and reloaded
had a 5 minute kitchen declutter
wiped kitchen surface and high chair

I'm just going to try and get the very obviously sleepy ds to have a nap and then I'm going to write some recipes up in my book

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 17:14

Hello

I got bored, and decided to sort the cupboard out under the sink. My neighbour then came round as she was bored, and we then tidied out the other cupboard...we were both sat on the kitchen floor surrounded by tupperware, baking stuff, pots and pans...god you name it! All sorted and put back tidy. Then we did the medicine cupboard, the top of the fridge and also moved the fish tank back into the living room!
I cleaned the breadmaker (which had been on top of the fridge and was a bit sticky (IYKWIM)) Now that is where the fish tank was, and all ready to use!

We did loads, and I'm chuffed, I'll help her next weekend, she wants to move her kitchen round now too!

ludaloo · 13/01/2008 17:14

BTW....What are Pizza Muffins Bewilder?
