Looking for a new hoover. Have a Dyson but a bit underwhelmed, suction keeps going and there is now a hole in the hose. Which do you rate?

Miele.Miele,Miele.

chipo · 08/01/2008 16:42

I second Miele, My gran has had one for at least 12-13 years and it's still going strong. I have one too and its great.

Jzee · 08/01/2008 16:47

Henry ! I've had mine 10 years without one problem and that's with it bouncing down stairs on numerous occasions. They don't have all the flashing lights etc, but mine has definitly been worth the £100!

orangina · 08/01/2008 16:48

I'm with norks

Indith · 08/01/2008 16:50

I asked this just before Christmas, the general consensus seemd to be a Henrey. Not that Dp has come up with the goods yet but Henrey was the man with the most votes.

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 08/01/2008 16:52

I always say Maytag on these threads, but no-one ever listens.

mumemma · 08/01/2008 16:54

Henry or Miele, definitely

dramaqueen · 08/01/2008 16:55

Oh no, I have a henry and find it clumsly and heavy to drag round. Is there such a thing as a good upright hoover?

Indith · 08/01/2008 16:56

I can spell Henry, honest! I just can't type on this keyboard for some reason.......stray es and ses everywhere

traceukw1 · 08/01/2008 17:49

Sebo or Miele.

SheikYerbouti · 08/01/2008 17:54

Whooosh · 08/01/2008 18:12

SEBO SEBO SEBO -life changing-honestly!

cinnamontam · 08/01/2008 18:13

i love my Henry

Alishanty · 08/01/2008 18:26

Defo Henry. I have done cleaning jobs over the years and they always use Henrys so they must be good. Easy to change the bag and cleans really well. Only downside is they can be a bit heavy for some people but I don't mind it atall.

ChubbyShcotsBurd · 08/01/2008 18:29

Miele (Cat and Dog if you - or your pets - have any hair issues) ... I would never go back to a Dyson ever again having had the Miele for 18 months.

justbeme · 08/01/2008 18:38

Can I ask all you Henry owners, does it flip sometimes and fall over? My current Henry type one does and it drives me MAD!

PrismManchip · 08/01/2008 18:39

Yes my Henry does fall over

I'm going to have a look at Maytag & Sebo

TheIceQueen · 08/01/2008 18:52

ooo I used a Henry (actually 3 of them as they took it in turns to break down and need to be fixed) at work and hated it.

Timely thread this as we could do with a new vac.....want an upright this time really though...

sophy · 08/01/2008 19:27

Sebo make the best vacuum cleaners. They are what professional cleaners use.

cinnamontam · 09/01/2008 14:48

My Henry has lost his footing a couple of times but I still looooove him

bratnav · 09/01/2008 14:49
