Looking for a new hoover. Have a Dyson but a bit underwhelmed, suction keeps going and there is now a hole in the hose. Which do you rate?

Another vote for Henry here

Have a Henry whiich is excellent. I lust after a Roomba (robot hoover) though so I don't have to do it myself!

claricebeansmum · 09/01/2008 15:13

Same as Whoosh - SEBO.

Absolutely brilliant, easy to change bags, vacuums up everything and good range of attachments

I have now seen Sebo's in two upmarket hotels and I have had mine for over 7 years without it going wrong.

claricebeansmum · 09/01/2008 15:14

Hate Henry - have never used one that actually works, back breaking and don't you want to just kick that smiley face? What is there to smile about????!! You are doing the hoovering...again

Onlyaphase · 09/01/2008 15:18

Following this thread with interest as we usually replace the hoover every 2-3 years.

Does the Miele (cat and dog) have bags or is it bagless? How much are the bags?

We have 2 labs and 2 cats and during the semiannual moulting session would fill a bag a day, hence we ended up with a Dyson animal with no need for bags. have been 100% happy with it so far, but like to keep my options open!

preggersagain · 09/01/2008 15:18

Roomba- [probably not as effective but a hundred times more fun

Bridie3 · 09/01/2008 15:20

I have a Dyson and a Roomba.

SheikYerbouti · 09/01/2008 18:39

Good thing with Henry is that DS1 loves him (he kisses him after doing the vacuuming )

This means that the annoying smily face actually menas that my 3 old son will happily vaccuum the carpet in the sitting room. Result!

cleaninglady · 09/01/2008 19:16

Dyson and Roomba here as well! the Roomba is fab for day to day stuff and the Dyson does a thorough clean when necessary - I did try the Miele but found it heavy or maybe im a weakling
I did see the new Henry - the pink one called Harriet is it? not sure if any good though!

josben · 09/01/2008 19:23

SEBO - Really good - and my local John Lewis store rates this hoover at one of the best aswell

Bridie3 · 10/01/2008 12:49

Yeah--that's how I use them, cleaninglady! The dyson is actually a bit sniffy about roomba and says he's a wimp. I have to keep them apart.

sasquatch · 10/01/2008 13:53

Meile cat and dog . no contest

Alyss · 13/01/2008 09:33

Kirby. They are found second-hand, complete with tools and manuals.

No machine like it.
