I really like Fisher & Paykel's ovens but realise they are on the pricey side. Otherwise, brands like NEFF and AEG are really good.

cobblers123 · 31/03/2022 10:53

Thank you theeaimee, Neff and AEG are two that the kitchen supplier has. I have to say I haven't heard of the other make. Smile

Neff and AEG are both fine. If you have space get 2 single ovens rather than a double which tends to be more like 1.5 (and the smaller not fan assisted if electric).

cobblers123 · 01/04/2022 14:35

Thank you SockFluffInTheBath, unfortunately my kitchen is not big enough for two separate ovens so a double it will have to be.

I hate my Siemens. It gives me the rage.

BonnyandPoppy · 01/04/2022 15:15

I love my Neff hide and slide

@LadyCordeliaFitzgerald

I hate my Siemens. It gives me the rage.
Can I ask why LadyCordelia, they are quite pricey and probably not in my budget but I thought Siemens were a really top brand for household appliances?

We are in the middle of a kitchen refit right now. The fitters have just fitted in an AEG oven, so I will let you know soon whether it is any good.

cobblers123 · 01/04/2022 15:33

Thank you all for the replies so far, it's much appreciated.

The last new kitchen I had done was in 2006, so I am completely in the dark over what is good or not in the range of ovens available now.

That would be really helpful Rampantivy Smile

We've got a neff hide and slide single oven. I love it!

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 02/04/2022 22:03

Ok have a zanussi single oven and I like it a lot. Used to have a Neff which I also liked. Left that at my last place. There was an indesit here when I moved and I hated it, and was secretly pleased when it died and I could replace it.

Elasmotherium · 02/04/2022 22:04

Just had a new kitchen fitted and have all Siemens appliance including two fan ovens and a microwave/combi oven.

We really rate them, quiet, simple controls, heat up quickly, pyrolytic cleaning programme. Great design, works really well. What's not to like?

DramaAlpaca · 02/04/2022 22:07

I've recently replaced my elderly Neff double oven with another Neff double oven. I'm just as happy with it as my first one.

OutTheOtherSideAndBeyond · 02/04/2022 22:14

I have got this Neff oven and I hate it.

I replaced like with like when my old oven stopped working (it lasted 15 years). Gawd knows why. The large oven isn't big enough for, say, a roast, plus a tray of roast potatoes and anything extra, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, pigs etc., etc..

If I replaced again I would go for a large single oven.

RampantIvy · 02/04/2022 22:18

Reporting back. Our new AEG built in oven is excellent.

cobblers123 · 02/04/2022 22:42

I will be looking at these ovens over the next couple of weeks, thanks for all the input. I know Neff and AEG are available from the kitchen supplier but I will also check out Siemens and Zanussi as well.

I'm quite excited at the thought of having not only a decent kitchen at last but an oven that I don't have to get down on my knees to see how things are cooking.

Yep to Neff Hide and Slide!

ciencien · 02/04/2022 23:03

Neff hide and slide

loopylindi · 02/04/2022 23:10

We've just had to replace our fitted oven. Did so with a Neff slide and hide. I'm quite short so it really suits me to be able to get up close and personal with the food. Make sure it's pyrolytic though.

gingergiraffe · 05/04/2022 10:28

I would also add, make sure to get self cleaning oven linings. I didn’t as I bought in haste and have regretted ever since. The roof of my small oven which contains the grill is really difficult to clean.

wonkylegs · 05/04/2022 12:59

I have had my 2 NEFF single ovens (stacked) for 8yrs now - top one is slide and hide bottom one is a regular one
I love them they are great, never had a problem with them.

JudgeRindersMinder · 05/04/2022 13:04

Neff and Bosch are great but both have massive supply issues at the moment with no end in sight, so that may influence your choice.
I had a Baumatic for a few years and it was horrendous so I definitely wouldn’t recommend that

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 05/04/2022 13:06

I have AEG and regret it every day. It’s not worth the extra money, it looks and performs like cheap and nasty, it’s filthy no matter how often it’s cleaned (pyrolytic), over engineered. We have it and also built in AEG microwave/ combination oven too.
I wish I’d gone for Fisher & Paykel.

TheDogsMother · 05/04/2022 13:07

Neff Slide and Hide which we have above a Neff combi oven. That one serves as a secondary oven and grill and is also a microwave.

TheDogsMother · 05/04/2022 13:08

Yes to PP. Get pyrolitic if you can. They are brilliant.
