Morning

I'm still doing a really rubbish job of FLYing. I will need o start the babysteps again if(when) dp goes back to work. Having him home alll day wrecks any rouines I have

BiancaCastafiore · 08/12/2007 08:52

I have a day off work today which is not a bad thing considering the late night I had last night followed by ds coming in our bed and fidgeting for ages...feeling a bit fragile at the moment
It was a great night out though, lovely to get out with all the other mums Luda and Jen how are you this morning? Hope your eves out were fun too

The kids and I are going to catch the train into town today and get the last couple of Christmas bits we need - they are sooo excited about going on the train. I'm not quite so keen, it's peeing down with rain and is cold and miserable here this morning.

I need to continue my sort out later. I did the wardrobe and drawers in my bedroom yesterday and have created a big bag full of clothes fo rthe charity shop. I'd like to sort the books on the bookcase today as I'm sure there are plenty we don't need to hang on to and we have a new Oxfam bookshop locally now so I can take them along there.

Better go and get ready, it'll be very disappointng if we miss the train!
See you all later x

Morning Jas I'm the same whenever dh is home - much as I like him being around, I can't deny I like it once he goes back out to work and I can settle back into my normal patterns in the day. Hows the work coming along? Almost finished?

OP posts:
Jas · 08/12/2007 08:59

Not even close to almost finished There is progress, but mostly the stuff you can't see once it is done still.

We need to go out and choose bathroom fittings and tiles soon, and that should be good. All the really messy stuff is doe for a bit, oo, so we are goin to put away as much as we can and get the Christmas decs out this weekend.

BiancaCastafiore · 08/12/2007 09:03

oh dear. I takes ages to get any work like that done doesn't it...and soo frustrating when the progress is hidden away under the floors etc! We still haven't finished off our extension which was built almost 5 years ago! Enjoy choosing the bathroom bits and pieces, that sounds like fun And enjoy getting the decs out, we'll do ours next weekend

Morning all

bianca Glad you enjoyed your night out - what did you wear in the end?
Jas I hate building work - Dh was working from home yesterday and he seriously upsets my routines, so I do not know how you manage.

I need to pop to the book shop this morning, not sure I want to rely on Amazon this time of year - I had a parcel posted on Tuesday from M&S and it is still not here - pah

BiancaCastafiore · 08/12/2007 09:14

TMH Hope you get to and from the shops without any stresses I ended up ringing round a couple of friends who were also coming on the night out and asking what they were wearing so ended up in a black skirt, plain black vest top thingy and a grey/silver sparkly cardie Most people were really quite dressed up so I'm glad I asked and didn't go in jeans. I was complimented loads on my weight loss, a huge confidence boost

Morning All

I had a lovely evening too...very late, I got home about 1.45am!
No hangover, but I am feeling very sleep deprived, I too had a wriggly child to sleep next too for the rest of the night!

Well its food shopping day today...should have gone yesterday, but DH had the car all day. I'm contemplating driving to Carmarthan to Tesco.

I have been very spoilt and had 2 xmas presents already A new pair of boots and a set of pans....except I have nowhere to put the pans!!
Have a few bits and bobs I need to get so a trip out to a bigger town might be needed.

See you all in a bit

gibberish · 08/12/2007 10:25

Morning!

Glad you both had a lovely evening. Turned out I too had a fab evening. MN'd until 2am talking nonsense to gigglewitch. Very funny. Am knackered.

Jas You'll finally get to the stage where you can live with the chaos. Now all the major work is done it will get easier. We are at the stage we just need floors and tiling done. Getting the tiles for the kitchen hopefully this afternoon.

Got loads of FLYing to do as I've been a lazy slob all week. Better get on!

Hello.
Glad those who went out had a good evening.
Bianca Have fun going on the train.

We had to walk to the shops today just for washing powder. Got absolutely soaked! Also posted Hawkins bazzar order. I am leaving it a bit late but it should still arrive in time. Its mainly stocking bits!

Still haven't heard from wii seller. Should i email him again? I know he has had a load more wiis for sale since i got mine.

Forgot to say SW cancelled at 3.15 yesterday! She was due round at 4. Coming Minday instead so i have all weekend to get tidier.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 08/12/2007 13:13

I love the festive smilies!

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 08/12/2007 13:42

Happy Weekend Everybody

What an awful day it is...bluueerrrgh

Been on a fruitless hunt for a specific bourbon for DH for Xmas. I've now tracked it down to Harvey Nicks in Leeds. Arrrgggghhhh. MIL might pop in as she's going to town with bil.

I'm going for a greek meal tonight with the PTA. I'm kind of looking forwards to it. I MUST NOT drink. I'm in polite company and I do not want to make an arse of myself.

Ed is at the IL's so I've been doing a bit of FLYing. I really should tackle the cat litter and the kitchen floor tho. I must stop procrtastinating and just get it done.

See you later

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 08/12/2007 15:17

Well we are back from the shops, not too bad actually. I think that everyone was staying in because of the bad weather.

we are all going to chill this afternoon and watch Barney - he he he

BiancaCastafiore · 08/12/2007 15:21

We are back from the shops too - bloody awful though, crowded, too hot, very wet, kids running off.... completely exhausted now!
We too have a Barney DVD to watch (spooky TMH) but I'm not sure i can face it so we're going to write letters to Santa instead and perhaps make some Christmas cards for the Grandparents.

Very very very very very tired......

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 08/12/2007 15:29

Glad shopping trips went well other than the weather!
Bianca How is DS's ear now? DD2 is compaining of hers hurting today!

We don't have Barney DVD! used to have a video but no-one watched it so i sold it.
I have been busy putting washing away. Such a boring job!

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 08/12/2007 16:11

Send santa a letter. Get an instant personal reply!
DD's were very impressed.

BiancaCastafiore · 08/12/2007 16:13

Hello Tort Ds said his ear was better this morning but by lunchtime he was complaining it hurt again and the poor chap went quite downhill and had another sleep. He's quite bright again now though Hope your dd is OK.

I've come upstairs to "hang some washing up" which is my secret code for "going on MN" (I doubt it's very secret though, really!)

OP posts:
ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 08/12/2007 16:21

Aww poor DS.
DD2 seems ok now she has had calpol.
Lol @ your secret code!

JingleyJen · 08/12/2007 21:02

OOhh

I love the festive smileys!

So have felt delicate for most of the day but thankfully Dh let me sleep in until 9.30am before I headed out to do some errands for the old lady I help out. Back for lunch - then out with DS1 to a birthday party until 5ish.

Did manage to do today's ironing whilst Dh cooked a lovely roast dinner. Boys in bed - after a glass wine I feel better now than I have all day!

Anyway hope everyone is well.

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 08/12/2007 22:17

Evening all

Ermmm it seems that ear infections are all about at the moment. I think DS2 might still have one, although we had been putting his previous one down to teething and he could be teething now.

I am glad that everone had a good night out.

DH has been looking at Mary Poppins tickets as the are touring (MIL and FIL paying for Christmas) and they are in Birmingham next year. we went to see it in Lonson BC and it was one of the best days out of my life - Tea at the Ritz with all the christmas decorations and a choir, they even sang happy birthday to me and also a trip to Tiffany's. So it looks like we may be staying with the boys godparaents in Hereford and me and the boys god mum having a day out in birminham

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 08/12/2007 22:30

TMH Hope DS2s ear doesn't get worse. DD2 seems ok so far tonight. Gave her Medised before bed. She is quite clingy at the moment.
My DS1 would love to see mary poppins. Sounds like you will have an amazing time again.

BiancaCastafiore · 09/12/2007 08:39

Morning

Hope all the poorly ears are doing OK this morning? My ds hasn't complained about his yet today so all is well so far

TMH Mary Poppins sounds great! I'm thinking about booking for dd and I to see Starlight Express in the next few weeks sometime - anyone know if it's any good?

I seem to have woken up with a need to get on and a general urge to get rid of stuff
So, my general purpose for today si to sort as many hotspots/cupboards as possible. We plan to get our decs up next weekend so I'd like to feel on top of everything before then.
We have been invited to a drinks party this afternoon so thta should be fun and provide a good break from the sorting I bought dd this dress yesterday as a Christmas present from me but I think she can have it early as we have a few birthdays and parties before Christmas which she could wear it for

Well, had better crack on, lots to do! Bye for now x

ludaloolovesmincepies · 09/12/2007 08:45

Hello and Good morning

Well I have only just picked myself up off the floor to post on here...Dh actually came shopping with us yesterday!
We had a lovely day, went into town and had a good potter around, then went to do a food shop (except with Dh with me we spent more than I normally do ) Then we went for supper in the cafe, so we didn't have to rush home to cook . So I'm generally a happy little ludaloo today

Oh and I meant to say yesterday, that it occured to me whilst I was sat in the pub having my xmas meal, that it is the first time I have actually been out since the smoking ban! and it was really weird! Nice, but wierd to not be in a smokey pub! And for the first time in my life, I had actually come home from a pub smelling nice! It certainly made a nice change anyway!

Well today is catch up on the house work day, as I didn't FLY at all yesterday.

See you all in a bit

JingleyJen · 09/12/2007 09:20

luda I agree about the smokless pubs - really great to not smell awful after a night out!

Hope all the pooly babes are feeling better today. earache can be so painful!

Have managed to do some flying this morning - washing machine is unloaded and reloaded as is the dishwasher. Have done my ironing.

We are about to go and choose a Chirstmas tree then going to choose a bike for DS1 for Christmas.
It is the Christingle service in church this afternoon.

TMH I went to see chitty chitty bang bang a couple of years ago with my sister - wow it was brilliant I can't wait for the boys to be old enough so I can take them to things like that!
bianca I feel very old hearing about starlight express - I remember it first opening in london we went the 2nd Christmas it was running as a treat with Mum and Dad.

Anyway - off for now -
