Right for this seasonal thread of the Fledgings, I invite you to pull up a comfy chair around the fire pit and pour yourself a mug of something that you fancy.

We loosely follow the flylady system and her babysteps. But we have our own spin, our own abbreviations and have been around for far longer than some of us would like to admit. If you are new to these parts welcome in, we'll get you up to speed in no time. But we have rules, yes rules!

Rule 1: No fledgling left behind.
life happens. If you fall off the thread, jump back when you are ready.

Rule 2: If you wouldn't say it to someone else, don't say it to yourself
Be kind to yourself, the world is still crazy, and life happens. Just do what you can, when you can.

Right that's the rules now for the fun part. Acronyms and autocorrects!
Amongst others (and there are others but we'll have to explain as we go along)
It's all gone a bit ponty pridd - tits up, pete tong, wrong etc etc we get to thank auto correct for this
WOW wash out Wednesday - humps days often don't go to plan and get washed out
LOL round these parts it is load of laundry

Urm... Yeah about that fire pit and comfy chair... Dibs on the big floofy one with fluffy blankies... Last one in brings the marshmallows!

willow very tempting arrangement.i favour lil zoo to shedif I'm feeling extra evil, otherwise be DS as he's good with arachnids!
Hills not a great start to day.is contact lessening on D's side or dad's?hope you get some downtime whilst he's gone

I've begun the landing..
It's not clever moving a plastic set drawers that's not moved in 12+ years without try wipe around it first the dust.fuck me.ds and I had evacuate to doorstep as we were overcome by the cloud and both started gasping for air!!
Drawers emptied into bags to be sorted at my leisureas I want finish job at hand
Carpet scrub as mouldy softened kibble in it
Once that's had a bit if time will move slightly bigger unit into place for zoolets towels and bedding then toys from landing can go in understairs where drawers were and laundry baskets can go were toys are now.well, that's the plan anyway!

Need the pointy stick pronto! I have squandered the morning. I think I needed to just hibernate for a bit though, there’s a lot to adjust to ATM. And in my defence my period arrived super heavy overnight 🙄 so I am feeling rubbish.

Absolutely must get on with stuff now though, apart from anything else if I stay in bed any later I won’t sleep tonight 😳

po3.1
❗️Get dressed
❗️Maths with DS (he’s done other work with DH)
❗️Book parkour and message friend about it

ScreamToTheSky · 15/10/2021 14:09

po3.2
❗️Bit of work - emails etc
❗️Have a look at new laptop and phone which arrived (was expecting it to take a bit longer)
❗️Put dryer on

MrsTidyHouse · 15/10/2021 15:06

Had a horrible feeling of overwhelming doom wave over me in the middle of the morning. Beautiful weather, which normally lifts my spirits, but this was completely out of the blue. It's abated now, and I'm going out to the garden for a while and take the discards out to the garage for the next dump run.

Zoo reading your post I realise that I have a similar set of drawers in my kitchen. You've inspired me to empty the trays and sort out the guddle.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/10/2021 15:06

Tada
Landings bit better...
Swept floor once clear
Playmobil now(clogging up ) cupboard understairs
Laundry baskets in their place
Wider plastic drawers replace other unit, contains all zoolets towels now
Cat baskets for vet added to cupboard understairs
All stuff from old drawers in piles
-Obvious recycling
-Stuff to go thru
-Rubbish
Rubbish and recycling removed.rest into 2bags and put my room for now til I have more time go thru it properly
Xmas tree understairs
Xmas decs too
Need find home cat food and litter
Still isn't as neat as I'd like but more room to move so I guess it's a win, even tho cupboard understairs now cluttered...

Eek, I hate moving things and discovering how long it is since it was last done, zoo. DH rearranged the living room in July and I am still finding strange dusty bits of room and bits of wire he should have dealt with. This weekend's DIY task is a Special Glass Shelf for the Beloved Turntable. Honestly, the turntable is meant to be mine but I don't understand, apparently, I just want to play my records on it 🤷🏼‍♀️ not wig out to Noodle Jazz written in 47/8 and recorded on the nose-flute, at a calibrated optimum volume, a given distance from the speakers.

Next bit of ta da
💚 Get up to town to collect DS2's prescription. Discover they have refused to honour it due to the date but no-one thought to ring me. DLMS but it was a close run thing.
💙 Went to big Tesco for Friday sweeties, packet roast potatoes for Sunday and a bottle of wine
💜 Ate half a packet of liquorice allsorts and had an hour's nap.

Now onto the next bit. To do:
🍁 Put dinner in the oven on the timer
🕸️ Check client printing and contact client
🍁 Help DS3 with English homework - someone needs to review his writing for What Went Well and Even Better If, before he writes it again.

Right. Will make a cup of tea and do those three.

YupIFreakilyHave · 15/10/2021 18:41

Oh no zoo. Thank goodness DD1 is okay. Lots of idiot drivers around. Poor DD2 for feeling down too. I'm not surprised you cba as there's too much going on. Thanks

merryhouse · 15/10/2021 19:47

yikes zoo that's scary. Is her husband (Smile) with her now? Make sure you all go easy on yourselves this evening, you'll be feeling a bit shaken by association.

Will the budget stretch to the chippy? I'd be straight on to fish and chips but I haven't got your various intolerances straight in my head Grin

Dancingtomusic · 15/10/2021 20:39

Zoo- omg thats awful your dd1 was involved in a accident. So glad to read she is ok!
Yes as merry said do take it easy.

(Forgive me for short posts- but i think i have chest infection....so struggling to think/type clearly with coughing fits.)

Waves to everyone reading.

THOSEcobwebsareDECOR · 16/10/2021 08:44

Right

Help me

Where can i find more hours for my days Hmm

StillUpSpooking · 16/10/2021 09:09

Yum, thanks Zoo. Hope Dd1 is recovering from her shock and has not woken up to sore this morning.

Maybe I could find a way to donate all the hours I seem to be wasting just sitting at the minute Those. At least one of us might then make progress.

Tidy I’ve never heard ‘guddle’ before but I like it and may have to adopt.

Star for lack of shit losing Willow.

I had to leave work early to pick up a coughing DD and take her for a PCR (result still pending). She was quite hot through the night too but seems ok in herself. She slept til 8 so I read a bit of the Nigel Slater Christmas book, and I’ve fed us both with french toast. DH is working this morning. I should be productive…

StillUpSpooking · 16/10/2021 09:10

*Too Hmm

Hope the coughing subsided and you feel better soon Dancing.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/10/2021 09:29

Today i need to get my car booked in so it is drivable after repairs. Yesterday was a right off.

Family fun day

Redsquirrel5 · 16/10/2021 11:41

Morning everyone.

Oh dearZoo what a horrible thing to happen. Glad she is more or less ok.
Found crumbs in naughty corner. Moves bed into there.

Hope PCR negative Up have you had double jab?
I haven’t heard of guddle either.

Dancing sorry to hear you are not well. I hope you can rest a bit today.

Hills Hope day improves and people are behaving themselves.

Got up for a bit yesterday but back still crap went back to bed and got up for tea and couple of hours. Definitely better lying almost flat. I have a memory foam mattress so better than lying on sofa which has cushion right where you don’t need it. Going to try a few stretches and rocking but if not it will be Osteopath next week. Bet that is about £50 now.
DH is going to make me a bacon sandwich. Says wedding on so I might open the curtains and see. Haven’t heard but sometimes people ask to marry there as pretty church. Don’t think old rules apply now. Attempt to get out of bed as need a wee, sorry if tmi.

Redsquirrel5 · 16/10/2021 11:43

Don’t have Nigel Slater book and Booths book will be out now 😫😢😭

StillUpSpooking · 16/10/2021 12:12

Apparently the Nigel Slater book is reduced in store in WHSmith Red if you’re near one. Hope the back ache eases up. I’m double jabbed and has my booster through the week. Still no result as yet.

Definitely a gentle day here Hills. Still in my dressing gown Blush. Hold on tight to that broom stick, it’s breezy. Hope the car is sorted.

I did some things:
🕷 DW rotated
🕷 kitchen tidied and benches wiped
🕷 LOL 1 of 4 on
🕷 5 minutes general tidying

Redsquirrel5 · 16/10/2021 14:46

UpYes, there is one in the city. I have only been in once in the last year. Lots of shops closed down. Trouble is I don’t really need or have room for another cook book. I have filled my kitchen bookcase.8

Glad you have had your vaccine.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/10/2021 19:02

ta da

Dancingtomusic · 16/10/2021 20:24

Hullo, i feel alot better today....its moved from my lungs.

Tadas-
🏵Washed/dried all school uniform.
🏵Bit by bit cleared another corner of my sitting room. It actually looks and feels lovely in there- with my millions of cushions in icecream colours.
I treated myself to watching the Jackie Collins documentary - it was great- what amazing woman.

Been worrying alot about stuff. Trying not to but.........
My lovely alopecia is back. 50p sized section of hair is missing 🤦‍♀️. Its the stress and strong antibiotics. I need to start eating healthy food again.

Todo- Tackle the hallway.

MrsTidyHouse · 16/10/2021 20:28

Plodded on with the storage tetris. Emptied the set of drawers in the kitchen and put it in the understairs cupboard. It fits exactly into the space, and makes much more sense than in the kitchen. Sorted out the bureau drawers at the same time, and a lot of it got moved to that cupboard as well.

Everything takes up so much less space when it's tidied and sorted.

Also had a go at the wee piles of pens, pencils, etc, that gradually grew in the living-room during the past term of school, and put them all in one place. Found a small collection of tiny bits and pieces that need checked out eg old money, adaptors and needles for ball pump, and half-a-dozen baby teeth amongst the mess. Will finish this tomorrow. Then get kitchen under control for school starting again on Tuesday. Get things nice for when it's dark so much earlier.

YupIFreakilyHave · 16/10/2021 20:29

Red - was there a wedding? Did you see it? And Nigel Slater has a new book out? He helps me make my roast chicken dinner and crumble. Also, sorry to hear about your back.

Dancing - are you taking care of yourself? A teaspoon of turmeric in hot water, but ideally hot milk, does wonders.

Hill - hope the rest of the day went well.

Ta-da - yesterday
Went to opticians and bought new glasses
Went to print shop and printed 4 pics and 4 frames
Bought milk and bread
Filled up car
Went to Homebase and bought decorator tape
Went for a walk in the woods
Went round to parents and managed to upset my mum
Lots of washing up and dinner made

Ta-da today
Sorted paperwork (I always get stressed when I do this)
Tidied and cleaned half the countertops in kitchen
Lots of washing up
Followed a new recipe to make chicken gumbo
Went round to parents to help dad with computer problems and chatted to mum without upsetting her. Phew.

Put pic of us 3 into frame I bought yesterday and put it on sideboard with other photos. It's from the wedding in the summer. I look gorgeous Smile not like I normally do. Put the other pics in frames and deciding whereabouts on bathroom wall it should go.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/10/2021 21:10

Word of advice though - do not do the turmeric thing if you have any medication for heart or blood pressure. Turmeric at that dosage can interact and worse case end up with collapse and a&E. Know your contraindications for medicinal dosages. All things natural can be poisionous it is all about the dosage and interactions!
