Please help me decide on a name for my cleaning company

Sole trader, mainly domestic properties - I really need to come up with a name! I don’t want to use my name or initials, and I’m trying to think of something which might stand out to my target client - someone who values attention to detail, proactivity, reliability, professionalism and punctuality.

I do seem to make fussy people very happy, those who have been left a little disappointed by their previous cleaners. Don’t get me wrong: I’m absolutely NOT only looking for the more discerning clients - I’d just like to (hopefully) find a company name which would stand out to them!

I live in an affluent area of West Berkshire, if that helps?

If you were looking for a cleaner, and scrolling through a list of potentials, are there any which might stand out to you?

I’ll be building a website too, so the name is just the start!

Ah I wouldn't use it if there's another company in the same area with that name - it's a nightmare for social media/web presence for one. Shame!

@NautaOcts

In the short term, I would like to build a full round for myself (rather than partly my own clients/partly via other friends who have established businesses that I provide my services to). Once thats done, I’d like to expand and build a small team. Specifically people who share my ethos, and would be well-paid for doing exceptionally good work. This is where the name comes in - I’m thinking ahead.

This made me smile. We are further east in Berks., where good cleaners are v hard to come by and only every really passed on by word of mouth when someone actually leaves the village, so the idea of choosing from a range of possibles is almost amusing.

I'd go with something like Arora Group for northern lights. It's vaguely clean and bright and happens to be high in the alphabet. It will also work when your empire grows and takes over the world.

Good luck.

SmileyClare · 16/09/2021 19:09

@BrilliantBetty

I prefer a name. If I see it is an individual rather than a company I assume I will get a better £ rate and a better service since it's not likely to be random cleaners each time. A name makes it more sincere somehow.
This. Anything too gimmicky sounds like a chain or cleaning agency. I work as a self employed cleaner and find clients want a person who they can build up rapport and trust with and found along with word of mouth, that's my best selling point

That said, if you want to expand and take on staff then I'd say use your name "Smith's cleaning company" or something simple like Professional cleaners of Eastbury (or whichever area you're targeting)

Sorry for such a boring answer.Grin

This. Or better Berkshire Domestic Cleaning

Way better for SEO -if you want to add something jaunty - have it as a strap line.

Coffeemakesmehappy · 16/09/2021 19:36

@Aquamarine1029

Definitely can’t use anything like ‘Whirlwind’ - I worked as a team with a cleaner recently who was so fast and actually described by the client as ‘like having a whirlwind through’. She made me question how good I was, as I felt incredibly slow in comparison. On the surface it appeared all was ok, but after a couple of weeks there were complaints about her work as so much was missed. And they asked for me to come back without her.
