At least once a week for all and the kids extra when neccessary.

NAB3littlemonkeys · 04/12/2007 12:54

BTW There are other threads on this is you want to search.

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 04/12/2007 12:54

I used to do every week but was persuaded by threads on here that every 2 weeks is fine and much more environmentally friendly. I pull the duvets down every morning to air the bed a bit.

NAB3littlemonkeys · 04/12/2007 12:55

if

nappyaddict · 04/12/2007 14:34

is it minging to wash them every 3 weeks?

Not unless you're having lots of shag-fests

I aim for every 2 weeks (air them daily) - I used to wash weekly but the house was constantly full of drying/airing bedlinen. Have been known to leave ours for 3 weeks occasionally - not much loving going on in our bed anyway, in fact I spend half the night in DS's (8mths) room persuading him that it's still night time...

Hulababy · 04/12/2007 14:45

Every 2-3 weeks. Aim for 2 weeks but if away for weekend or extra busy it will be 3 weeks between washes. I do the bottom sheets a bit more frequently than the duvet though,as don't always do both together. I cetainly don't have time to do it weekly!

flack · 04/12/2007 14:46

You do whatever you like, Nappyaddict, presumably you put out fresh sheets for guests and no one should otherwise care what you personally sleep on. I used to only manage it once a month. Not a very big about that because It'd be once/year if I left it up to DH. Now I do it fortnightly, with the occasional missed weekend.
Obviously I wash more frequently if any hint of wetting or mess!

nappyaddict · 04/12/2007 14:51

i have left my duvet cover 4 weeks when i was a student

OP posts:
amazonianwoman · 04/12/2007 15:01

4 weeks as a student is clean Sure mine was only washed a couple of times a term

When I met DH he NEVER used to wash towels. He couldn't understand why they'd be dirty because you only use them after the shower when you are clean

kittylouise · 04/12/2007 15:12

I tend to change mine about 3 times a week, dd's about once a week.

I end up with unwashed sheets everywhere, which is a pain, but I really like the feel and smell of clean sheets.

Dee3 · 04/12/2007 15:15

I think airing your bed is very important - warm slightly moist environments are where little nasties live and breed! Yuck!

That said - if you do air the bed I think 2 weeks is ok... but nothing beats climbing into a nice clean freshly made bed!

agree nothing beats climbing into clean bed but i HATE making it! all that tucking in of sheets (don't have fitted sheets) hurts my hands! so we leave it AGES between changing sheets... need to do it soon though, as there are milky patches on my side of the bed from early morning BFs

weekly (but our cleaner changes the sheets...)

charlieandlola · 05/12/2007 23:26

I wash the bedclothes twice a year ( when my cleaner is on holiday). She changes all the beds once a week.

lenaschildminding · 05/12/2007 23:35

jura, I'm with you on the pillowcases, they get done every week, duvet covers 2-3 weeks, beds aired daily (saves making them )

DS doesn't sleep under his duvet anyway! He kicks it off, even in winter!

Ours is a superking, so it takes alot of effort to get the clean one on! DH tried it once! OMG! Never again!!!

MrsMuddle · 06/12/2007 00:28

Far less frequently than the rest of you!!!

coldtits · 06/12/2007 00:35

Often enough, considering I sleep alone and in pyjamas.

slim22 · 06/12/2007 01:06

monday & friday and more often for DS if wee accident

Joash · 06/12/2007 01:18

At least weekly - have been known to have clean sheets on daily (although that was when I had more money than sense and a cleaner)

foofi · 06/12/2007 01:39

About once a week for our bed but only every 2-3 weeks for the kids at the moment. (Well they are less sweaty!)

nappyaddict · 06/12/2007 18:34

so 3 weeks is acceptable for my bed aswell as ds'?

OP posts:
stripeymama · 06/12/2007 18:35

Yes!! I hope so anyway cos ours gets left longer than that

Minum · 06/12/2007 18:37
