Where do you put 'worn-once' clothes?

What do you do with clothes that you've only worn lightly? So, they're too clean to be washed (ie could be worn the following day) but are too dirty to go back into the drawers-full-of-really-clean-clothes?

I put them on the chair in my bedroom.

ineedaholidayandwine · 01/09/2021 13:38

Hook on the back of the door

Trinacham · 01/09/2021 13:40

Currently on the floor! Not what I want but I don't have anywhere else. I always have this problem as I wear scrubs at work - no point washing clothes that have been worn for 6 hours max.!

womaninatightspot · 01/09/2021 13:41

Valet stand, I think it was less than 20 quid from amazon

WisestIsShe · 01/09/2021 13:41

Floordrobe!

dorothygaleandtoto · 01/09/2021 16:43

In a pile (of varying size!) on top of a chest of drawers in the bedroom.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 01/09/2021 16:45

@WisestIsShe Ha! That's what I'm trying to avoid... @Trinacham - it's such a pain isn't it!

@MountainAshley - that sounds fancy & nice, but I don't have room for a chair, sadly.

@ineedaholidayandwine - I would need a verrry big door, as I do seem to accumulate quite a few of these clothes... (plus I don't really want to drill hooks into my door...)

@womaninatightspot - this is exactly the sort of thing I need in my life! Thank you! Have you got a link?

Someone just asked this

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/09/2021 16:53

Chair in my bedroom. It currently has:
2 pairs of jeans, both worn for one day only
t shirt worn for 2 hours
Hoodie which really should go in the wardrobe but I'm lazy
black bra, worn for one evening
Random cardigan hanging off the back which I will probably wear later

WisestIsShe · 01/09/2021 17:10

Although I bought this in ikea today so hopefully I'm cured Grin valet hanger

Pissinthepottyplease · 01/09/2021 17:12

I have a toddler - my clothes on survive one wear and they are instantly smearing in unknown substances.

MrsTophamHat · 01/09/2021 17:15

Sometimes on top of my shoes in my wardrobe but i'm trying to just hang them back up really to stop them piling. If theyre too smelly/dirty to hang up then I just wash them.

Baconking · 01/09/2021 17:17

I put them back in the drawer or wardrobe.

They aren't going to contaminate the clean clothes

Crazy8 · 01/09/2021 17:23

Always had this problem until we redecorated. I have now kept a drawer empty in my chest of drawers for once or twice worn clothes. Seems to work.

IWasBornInAThunderstorm · 01/09/2021 17:25

Genius! And only £2.

I might get two and reclaim my floor space!

FKATondelayo · 01/09/2021 17:25

I put them back in the wardrobe. Apparently this is beyond the pale.

Esspee · 01/09/2021 17:26

I use the chair in my bedroom and every week I play hunt the chair which by the end of a week is completely swamped. Some things get consigned to the laundry basket, others go back in the wardrobes.

Notaroadrunner · 01/09/2021 17:26

I put them back in their place in the wardrobe - be that hanging up or folded on a shelf. They're not so filthy that they cannot touch the washed clothes.

candycane222 · 01/09/2021 17:27

I hesitate to put them back as I fear they'll attract moths. So I have a xhais and two piles on the little chest I keep shoes in and the floordrobe for gardening clothes. This weather I have everything from shorts to cosy leggings in and out of use...Blush

candycane222 · 01/09/2021 17:27

Xhais?? That sounds fancy!! Chair ffs!

moofolk · 01/09/2021 17:28

Spare basket in the bedroom.

If they don't get worn soon that turns into a linen basket

GemmaRuby · 01/09/2021 17:29

I have wooden coat hooks drilled into the wall in my bedroom for this very purpose. The door wouldn’t close with over the door hooks.

starfishmummy · 01/09/2021 17:30

Set of hooks that fit over the door. Or on the floor. If I'm in the bedroom then I am asleep so it doesn't bother me

imnottoofussed · 01/09/2021 17:33

Usually hung on front of the wardrobe doors but occasionally there are too many. I also sometimes hang them back into one section of the wardrobe

adrianmolesmole · 01/09/2021 17:37

I keep mine on my desk chair in my bedroom. And when I'm working I toss the lot onto my bed! And I do this constant transfer of clothes back and forth on a daily basis. FML!
