Where do you put 'worn-once' clothes?

What do you do with clothes that you've only worn lightly? So, they're too clean to be washed (ie could be worn the following day) but are too dirty to go back into the drawers-full-of-really-clean-clothes?

I have a couple of baskets on a shelf

@FKATondelayo

I put them back in the wardrobe. Apparently this is beyond the pale.
It is for me 😏 I like to know what is fresh and what has been worn, particularly if I'm meeting up with people. Maybe I'm too fussy.

On the floor (jeans) or the top of the chest of drawers (bra, tops).

ANameChangeAgain · 01/09/2021 17:41

Floordrobe.

This is what "the chair" is for. We both have one in our room and I've just introduced one to 6yo's bedroom to save the floor!!

Apparently it attracts moths.

I use a drawer in my chest of drawers.

Musmerian · 01/09/2021 18:09

@Baconking

I put them back in the drawer or wardrobe.

They aren't going to contaminate the clean clothes

This. What a bizarre thread. It would never occur to me not to put them back with the other clothes.

I have The Chair for this ( just a standard wooden chair, my hoody hangs on the back of it).
Gardening clothes on the floor.
When I can't see the chair, I throw everything on it into the laundry basket.

MorriseysGladioli · 01/09/2021 18:17

I gave have a "worn before" drawer.

KineticSand · 01/09/2021 19:22

I once dated someone who had a drawer designated for this called "the sweaty drawer" 🤢

peppapigfangirl · 02/09/2021 07:31

Back in the wardrobe. If you're going to wear them again then they aren't really dirty so don't need washing. Hmm

thelegohooverer · 04/09/2021 21:22

I put them back in the wardrobe. They hang on the end of the bed or on a chair at night and in the morning get sorted into laundry or back into the wardrobe if they smell clean.

Dh used to keep his on the floor so I gave him a basket (like a big Christmas hamper basket) and he keeps them there now and I kick it under the bed as I pass.

Wildernesstips · 05/09/2021 15:49

I once read a tip on here about putting the hanger the other way in the wardrobe so you know which are the previously worn clothes.

NatashaRf · 05/09/2021 16:02

DH and I each have a set shelf in the wardrobe.

loopylindi · 05/09/2021 16:06

@candycane222 Clothes that have been once will not attract moths. They are very particular about their food and their preference is anything natural like wool or silk.

RosesAndHellebores · 05/09/2021 16:11

On a hanger inside out on the hook in my dressing room, then back in the wardrobe. Also goes for jackets/cardigans, etc.
