Anyone else got SLUGS invading their house?....

at night? They are never there during the day, but the trails are there in the morning. LOTS of trails.

How do they get in and how do I deter them?(I can't pin down exactly where they are coming in, and don't want to cover the whole of my room in salt!)

Charming Lilyloo, have you noticed how they are all really shocked at slugs being in your house!
Maybe it's only british slugs that like to come inside?

Further to my 'I got rid of mine' smug arsed comment earlier, I found slug trails on my stairs this morning!! They are coming to get me!!?!?!

Found a huge one curled up in the kitchen - thought the cat had missed her tray!

Not sure which was worse!

I can't believe it.. I didnt realise so many people had slugs in their houses, I thought it was just me because I dont manage to clean my house on a regular basis. They dont seem to be out as much now, dh says its because they dont like the cold?

Came down to the kitchen a few weeks ago in the middle of the night and there were SIX on the kitchen floor, it was like I hadnt really woken up and I was living a nightmare. And they manage to get into the dishwasher somehow.

Rather worringly, I do enjoy seeing them turn to mush under a pile of salt.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 26/11/2007 16:37

I am going to use the salt on them tonight. I little trail of the stuff all the way round the dining room.
(I realise that this won't stop the ones with parachutes or doctor goo in his miniature tardis, but something has to be done)

That is the most disgusting thing I have ever read.

I would never ever bath/shower in there and feel clean. My skin is crawling

Does anyone actually like slugs?

Fubsy · 26/11/2007 20:42

None have made it up the stairs yet THANK GOODNESS!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 26/11/2007 23:13

If my slugs were that productive they could stay

I also live in House of Slug, once got up at 3am and counted about ten on the floor, flushed them in the loo. But...I think they do live under the house. We've filled all the holes in that we can find, put grilles over our air bricks, and removed the skirting boards, and cleaned. Still the odd one appears, well its trail of slime. So gross isn't it?
