TheMadHouse · 20/11/2007 08:58

Morning all

Morning routine done and we are off to playgroup this moning, then back for lunmch and naps and card making this PM for DH birthday tomorrow.

I had a pap night too, must be something in the air, not helped by this mega cold that has been dragging and I can not seem to shift.

Visited BF and she is really down, she can not do much physically and is currently reducing the number of painkillers she is on and suffering. She is back at hospital next week and seeing a solicitor on Thursday.

BiancaCastafiore · 20/11/2007 09:10

Morning all

My name is Bianca and have too have multiple clothes piles am over-run by them at the moment, clean, dirty, ready to put away, needing ironing etc etc......

I was still pretty run down yesterday after being poorly on Sunday so didn't get a whole lot done in the end.

How did you bruise your thumb Luda? Sounds nasty. Sorry you slept badly.
Hello to simply, sorry you're sleeping badly too Fingers crossed re the au pair
SMS good luck with the presentation - what's it on?
TMH your poor bf Hope things improve for her.

I had a bad nights sleep too - ds wet the bed so I had to deal with that and all the laundry which goes with it. Then dd had a bad dream and took a while to settle

Today I need to get back on track with my routines. I also must make a start with homemade Christmas presents.
Ds has a friend coming back for lunch and a play.

Better go and get the beds made.
See you all later x

Yaddayule · 20/11/2007 09:31

Now you see Bianca I was full of sympathy until you mentioned homemade Christmas presents

madhouse sorry your friend is still suffering it must be emotionally tough for you as well

Right I have to get on

If your counting piles of clothes can I conveniently forget the mountain of ironing stuffed under the kitchen table

Back in an hour with a smug list (hopefully)

EHM · 20/11/2007 09:42

Bianca hope you have a better night tonight> Home made presents Spill the beans what are you making
luda hope your thumb is less painful soon.

BiancaCastafiore · 20/11/2007 09:59

I have put away all my clean non-ironing piles of clothes [smug] And I have sorted a basket for ironing which I hope to be able to do this afternoon while ds has his friend here (they'll entertain each other won't they? )

Can't spill on the homemade presents as I'm planning to send to the children of a couple of FLY buddies Only something small and easy for the kiddies - I'm hoping dd will do some for a couple of her friends too. I got so into crafts again after making dds (award winning ) fancy dressing costume back in Sept that I'm looking forward to having another project, I just wish I'd got started earlier instead of leaving everything to the last minute as always!

Right, next job is to load the wm with some of the dirty piles of laundry...

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 20/11/2007 10:14

Hello.
I too have clothes piles! Mainly DS's which i did ask Them to put away. But do they do it? NO! [angry But should i leave it to them or give in and do it?
Also have my clothes pile but draws are blocked by other stuff so i really need to sort my whole room.

On my own for a little while as dd2 is at pre-school. maybe i should get my room sorted.
But also need to list on Ebay. November is flying by and i still haven't made much money. What i have made i spent on Ebay on presents so thats ok!

BiancaCastafiore · 20/11/2007 10:18

Hello Tort Saw your post the other day about the bike seat for dd2 - well done, sounds as though you got a bargin I try to get the kids to put their dirty washing in the laundry basket but that's about as far as they come to helping out (and tbh they don't even remember to do that every night anyway) A blitz on your room sounds like a good idea, it'll be like a little treat to yourself
Hope to catch up later x

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 20/11/2007 10:24

Hi Bianca.
They are very good with dirty washing but hate putting the clean washing in draws!
I have biked with DD2 the last 2 days. Only problem is that my heels clip the foot rests of the seat. makes it harder to cycle and i can't stand up to go up hills. So i can only cycle on flat areas or down hill. DD2 loves it though. I am quite nervous cycling with her but i guess i will get used to it.
How were you with DS on your bike at first? Any tips?
(Naughty tort has no helpmet yet too.)

BiancaCastafiore · 20/11/2007 10:40

, and again at you no having a helmet Tort!
I've ridden my bike with one or other child on the back since dd was about 10months old so am pretty used to it, you just have to adjust your balance to allow for the weight of the child on the back. My child seat has adjustable kids foot rests so I've been able to move them around to avoid knocking them with my heel, I've learnt not to stand up on the hills anyway - do you have decent gears? You should be able to pedal without needing to stand up anyway.

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 20/11/2007 10:40

Oodlesandludasoftinsel · 20/11/2007 10:48

I now have a clothes pile

I have descovered that I bruised my thumb whilst wholloping the side of the fridge!
It has a habit of not clicking itself back on after it stops for a bit (you know how they have a rest for abit, they they kick back in) well mine doesn't kick back in but if you smack the side of it, it then kicks back in....but sometimes youhave to hit it hard....and that is how I've briused my thumb!...only realised that was how I'd done it when I hit thefridge this morning!

need a new one me thinks...but is waaaay down at the bottomof our "to buy" list!

Right have to go....must hoover quickly, then have to pop in on a friend, and then pick ds up...(I left him today, as I've been staying with himfor a week or so now....he seemed ok! [fingers crossed])

Oh....speaking of friends...madhouse I'msorry yourfriend is so down at the mo It must be really hard for her, I hope she starts to feel better soonxxxxxx

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 20/11/2007 11:25

sorry Bianca promise i will have a helmet very soon. Bike has 21 shimano gears so quite good i think. I am just not sure the best way to use them. I expect i will get used to sitting down uphill when my legs are stronger. haven't written for about 10 years. Foot rests do adjust but its the bottom of it thats in the way so makes no difference. Wrong sort of bike i expect.

I am pleased with myself. Got loads done in the bedroom and put my clothes away. Put boys clothes in their room and they will be putting them away Wednesday(at their dads tonight)!

Have to pick DD2 up soon.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 20/11/2007 11:26

Luda Ow! your poor thumb. Freecycle is worth a try for a fridge if you have freecycle! Seen lots offered on there.

EHM · 20/11/2007 11:32

CP ironed & put away

tort have fun on our bike sounds very fancy with all those gears.

EHM · 20/11/2007 11:33

should say 'your' bike not 'our' bike

TheMadHouse · 20/11/2007 11:46

argggggggggggggggggggggggggg What a morning.

went to set off to playgroup, so put DS2 in car seat and sut the door on DS1's hand. so mad dash to casulaty with them both. DS1 had an x-ray and no bones broken, but really swollen fingers and a cut. I feel like such a bad bad mum.

I just have to give him calpol.

we have just got back and I am going to try him with some lunch, then calpol and then nap.
