Morning All

I'm limiting my time on here today, I spent rather a lot of yesterday flicking on and off, and went to bed with a migraine last night (probably unrelated but I have a fuzzy head today as a result)

No idea what to do today...quick tidy round and then I might go for a walk and get some fresh air. We might also go to the pub this evening to watch some fireworks...see how we get on.

Have a good day all xx

Morning Luda Thanks for the thread. Hope your headache stays away today

I have to go into work late morning toay so have a couple of hours now to get some laundry on the go etc.
Dd has gone to her sports club and ds is playing with his lego
Dh and I talked more about baby 3 last night and this morning... not sure what'll happen, still lots of cons in our list of pros and cons And anyway, after dds behaviour this morning I'm starting to feel more as though I couldn't cope with her rudeness and the lack of energy through pregancy and newborn stages....

I should be home just in time to watch the village fireworks this evening. Dh threatened dd with no fireworks if she was rude this morning (which she was) but I feel we can't follow that threat through - it's unfair to make her (and one of us) miss out on a once-a-year event I've taken away her computer time for the weekend instead.

Thanks for the recipe gibberish I'll copy it out and give it a go next weekend perhaps.

Better go and make the beds etc.
Have a good day everyone

Jas · 03/11/2007 09:45

Hello.
I''m living in a building site, with computer disconnected. Had to wire it up on the floor to do som emergency banking, but won't be around for a few more days.

Hope all are well....back next week some time if my sanity holds up that long.

Neverenough · 03/11/2007 10:09

Morning all! Luda hope your headache is gone and stays away.
Bianca I'm sure you and DH wull make the right decision(think I know from reading between your lines what it will be....)
Jas good luck grit your teeth and focus on the end result!

Lots to do today soe better get on!

gibberish · 03/11/2007 13:20

Afternoon! Wow it' quiet on here today! You must all be out enjoying yourselves

Aw jas hope things are back to normal soon. Is a nightmare getting stuff done whilst you are trying to live in the middle of it!

luda Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

bianca how exciting, thinking about adding to your brood I sometimes think that if you spend too much time pondering the pros and cons, you will never do it. We never thought or planned any of ours - I was just crap at using contraceptives and am clearly the most fertile person on the planet Fortunately, dh sorted out the problem....

never hope you are having a good day. Don't do too much - it's the weekend you know!

Well have just got back in so need to do a quick dust and hoover and swish and swipe as having dinner guests tonight - will be 10 to feed. Have made the dinner so just a case of heating it up and making some almond rice and a salad. Pudding just needs to be stuck in the oven. Looking forward to it! I remember when I used to be a complete wreck when having people for dinner as I was so disorganised. It's great now - making everything beforehand is so much easier. Plus I now have a dishwasher so it's all a doddle

Off to get started.

Grouchyoscar · 03/11/2007 13:52

Morning ...hang on it's 1:30...Afternoon All

Hey Hazelnuts good to see you

Wii Info...I know they are like rocking horse poo atm so www.wiipreorder.co.uk/this is where DH got the info for ours from. He got it from Wilkinson online believe it or not

I suppose I'm on industrial action today. DH comitted to get up with Ed today but he didn't surface til 9:30 as he had a hangover! by that time I had

Got up
Bathed me and Ed (who had drawn 'stripeys and spottys' on himself with felt pen last night
Tidied away from last night
Sorted bottles and jars for recycling
Cleaned work surfaces
Loaded and rum DW
Emptied WM
Sorted and hung for drying

So after I had

Vacced downstairs
Mopped downstairs
Swept porch
Mopped bathroom
Mopped bedroom

I got back into bed with the laptop and

Checked eBay item I am watching
Bought DH 2 Xmas gifts he asked for
Looked at 1 Ed had asked for
Contacted Lego for replacement stuff
Wikipediaed and IMDBed things
Cleared out inbox

I'll catch up on sleep now. BBL

Grouchyoscar · 03/11/2007 17:56

Cleaned out Cat cellar (where we keep the trays not the cats
Bring spent litter out of cellar and put in grey bin
Vac stairs
Vac landing
Dust and vac bedroom
Strip bed
Load WM and run

Hope you've had good days

Well signing off for the day. Had my flu jab yesterday and I keep going hot sweaty/cold clammy [Yuck] emoticon

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2007 08:05

Morning Ladies

Head feels much better today, it was fuzzy for most of yesterday though.
Really didn't do much, took the kids out for a walk, went to a friends for a quick cuppa and a chat and tried to work out if she was going to have a girl or a boy (obviously I don't think you can but it was funny to try!)
Um....made up a batch loads of pasta bolognese and froze it.

Have to go out today to get electric, some sparklers and a few other bits and bobs (I have to go and do something today, staying in is driving me potty)

We didn't go out last night after all...save the pennies I think.

Bianca did you all have a good time at the village display?

Anyhoo...kids are all wanting MORE toast, so I'd better get on.
Have a good day all xx

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 04/11/2007 08:50

Hi Luda Yes, we went out to the village display - it was good, but ds didn't like the noise (sensitive soul that he is) so I spent most of my time comforting him. Dd met up with some friends so played chase in the dark with them throughout the display - I think dh is the only one who actually got to watch the full display!
Glad you're feeling better, hope it continues that way

I had a very busy day at work - had to get all the Christmas decorations out on sale plus everyone seems to have started seriously Christmas shopping so the shop the extremely busy.
I didn't sit down or drink anything from midday till we got home from the fireworks at 9pm! Felt a bit ropey so had a bath and an earlyish night.

I also managed to re-open the gash in my finger from a couple of days ago - grim! I now have it plastered up with a home-made splint.

Dds bad mood continued all day yesterday was dreadful by bedtime. She and dh are going out on an out today so I hope she behaves for him. She's so stroppy these days and so rude. I hope it's a phase and not something we've done to make her this way.

Ds and I are home alone. Not sure what we'll do. We may try to make it to church this morning and then (if the fog clears) go for a walk/cycle ride.

FLYwise I need to get the school uniforms washed and do a general tidy-up.

Hope everyone has a good day x

TheMadSparkleyHouse · 04/11/2007 11:39

hello All

Sorry for not being on sooner, we decided to make the best of the good weather yesterday and went for a day out by the sea side. it was lovley we ate fish and chips on the harbourside and walked for hours, then came home had tea, early baths and come dancing!!!!

We have friends coming for lunch today, so am busy finnishing it all off - they are due any second.

we have done FIL VAT this morning and DH took DS1 to see the new calves.

Bianca - DS1 is an absolute horror at the mo - I am going to do a post on it, as I am sure it is his new medication!!

Catch you all later

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2007 12:46

Well I decided to make the most of the sun, and take a drive into town. We parked on the sea front, and it was beautiful. The sea was calm, the kids played and then we saw DOLPHINS!!!!
I can honestly say I have never seen them so close and so BIG before! Two shiny beautiful dolphins leaping about in the harbour. I sooo totally wanted to watch them forever, but the kids got fed up and wanted to play in the castle ruins. So we played there for a bit, went to the park, nipped to the shops to get a drink and some chocolate, then by the time we got back to the car, they were still there playing about a bit further out.
I am all full of peace and calm now...absolutely beautiful things.

Well anyway, back to the housework...kids back at school/nursery tomorrow...I might have to go and see my neighbour and tell her about the dolphins first!

tortoise · 04/11/2007 13:03

hello.
Just popping in to say i now know what the problem was with my WM!
There is(was) a counter balance brick on the bottom of the drum. It has totally snapped off. Have been assured it will be ok without it but to use lighter/smaller loads.
Relieved to know its ok for now.

Luda Wow what an amazing sight. I would love to see that.

I am putting piles of washing away today! Just stopping for lunch. I wish i could get the hang of putting it away before it builds up into a huge job!

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2007 13:27

Oh...Tort that's better news (well not great but at least you can carry on using it) Our had a similar problem with the brick...made a hell of a noise!!!

OP posts:
ludaloudbang · 04/11/2007 13:28

The dolphins were wonderful...I have been thinking about collecting something for quite a while now, and after seeing those lovely creatures I think I'm going to collect dolphins

OP posts:
tortoise · 04/11/2007 13:30

Good choice. But watch you don't get over run with them lol! Sure all my ornament tortoises breed! I have so many now!

ludaloudbang · 04/11/2007 13:56

Oh...yes, I remember from your posts you have to dust your tortoises. I'll have to collect fairly slowly I think...don't have much space to keep loads of them!

OP posts:
tortoise · 04/11/2007 13:57

Best not to mention it to family then. Suddenly every gift has a theme and before you know it you have no room left!

tortoise · 04/11/2007 14:23

I am all excited now . Just bid and won a bike off Ebay. £21
Now i just need a seat for dd2 and a helmet for me and i will be able to go out cycling while dc are at school.

I've seen them before several times from a place we used to go on holiday as kids (Shell Island..North Wales) but they have always been too far away to appreciate properly.
To stand and watch them this morning, so close and so playful it was amazing. I have no idea if they were teenagers or not...but they were leaping out of the water.

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 04/11/2007 15:06

Luda What a sight, I'd love to see dolphins. We went fishing in my uncles little rowing boat (with a home-made motor on the back ) when I was a child and had seals popping up to say hello all the time - that was great...but dolphins, I'm very
Ruby Danny champion of the world sounds great! of you too.
Tort glad you know what the problem is with the wm and that it's still usable

Ds and I went to Sunday club at church this morning, we don't go very often so it was nice to see some friends we otherwise don't get to meet up with very much
Then we came home, had lunch and made some chocolate fridge cake.
We've been out in the garden mowing the grass for the past couple of hours with ds helping with his tractor and trailer - very cute. Then we washed the mower tractor and trailer, ds got soaked!
Just came in to realise I hadn't even cleared away the lunch things - the place is a tip (esp as we have to bring the mower through the house - wet clumps of grass everywhere!).
Then my parents turned up and offered to take ds out to the park for a while this is unheard of!! So I have 45minutes of peace in which to get the house straightened up a bit - better crack on!
See you all later x

gibberish · 04/11/2007 15:36

Afternoon!

Bianca lucky you! Make the most of the peace and quiet.

luda how lovely! Dolphins are beautiful.

tmh another lovely day at the sea side Sounded great! Do you live near the coast?

tort What a relief you can still use your washer! Yay for the bike! We all bought new bikes last year and I have been on mine a whole ONCE [shame] My bottom is still recovering...

'ruby' Sounds like you had an excellent evening Are you near to Brum? (Don't need to answer that if you don't want)

Hope you had a nice time last night never You were welcome to come round to ours - but I may have had to issue a health warning beforehand. My stomach is killing with all the laughing we did Fab night, all went perfectly. Food turned out great and everyone just had a great time. We were all in stitches laughing - can't remember when I laughed so much. Brilliant night

Well was just about to make dinner - chicken with figs and mint - and just realised that I should have soaked the figs overnight in the fridge So dh has said he will take me out for a meal instead So chucking the chicken in the freezer and going to get the girls are rare McDonalds....

Enjoy what is left of the weekend everyone! And have a good Monday and Tuesday. Speak to you again Wednesday x

tortoise · 04/11/2007 16:15

Lucky you Bianca

I have put some washing away! its a slow process. WM not great! Put a load on and went to put more washing away. DS2 shouted upstairs that the WM was jumping across the floor. Because the weight of the brick isn't there as soon as it starts to spin it moves out from under the worktop and across the floor as far as the pipes let it. Quite funny really! I had to sit on it until spin stopped.

Not sure what i am going to do about it now.

Grouchyoscar · 04/11/2007 16:29

Luda how beautiful. I am so . Do you live near the coast?

I know what you mean tho, I saw a leatherback turtle at the Sealife Centre last year, yeah, not the same cos it was captivity but I just wanted to stay and watch it and felt calm and elated. Just awesome
