Good morning, here's todays mission

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 26/10/2007 07:56

Hello Hope everyone is well today.

I was up till quite late last night tidying up - dh should stay out late more often, I got loads done

~Downstairs is as tidy as it needs to be, although I may need another go at the utility room.
~Upstairs needs a quick hoover.
~I need to do some ironing, but there's not even a basket full so I'm not sure I can be bothered to get the board out.
~The kids would like to do some baking or there are still friends we haven't seen for a while who we perhaps ought to invite round.
~I need to go back to the bank in town for dh.

Morning All

Morning Bianca

The thread has turned upside down! (way too confusing for this time of morning )

Well kids are all at home today. Thats it now for a week. They are chuffed! We have a birthday party to go to this morning so they are all looking forward to that.

DD1 and DD2 both had their hair cut last night, they both look lovely. Nice neat little bobs DS refused to have his done...so I will have to try and do something with it

Well I'm going to crack on with the house and my morning routine, and get the kids ready for their party.

See you all in a bit xx

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 08:06

Oh...and I shall be doing the mission today too...our bed needs doing anyway.

Jas · 26/10/2007 08:07

Good morning

I'm going to get busy with the fLYing this morning, andwe are visiting another mumsnetter this afternoonto play

We haven'tlooked at the homework yet either I need to get th dds started on that today

Luda were you here yesterday when the whole site changed. You ill get pages when the thread ets longer, but you can customise it (or change it all back to old style (that is hat I have done for now)with the new links at the top.

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 08:16

Noooo I don't think I was around jas

I have had a quick look about and I actually like the fact the first post is at the top, it saves you having to scroll all the way down to find it.
Only trouble is...I have been posting on the Christmas Cake thread, and there are 7 pages of that, so when you add a post, it takes you back to the beginning and you have to find your post again.
I think I might get used to it though, I prefer to see the OP first I think

BiancaCastafiore · 26/10/2007 08:20

Jas you've reminded me, I need to sit with dd and make a start on some homework too.

Luda enjoy the party (do you still stay with them?)

OP posts:
ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 08:39

Bianca Yes....I still stay...I think I have only actually left DD1 once. It seems an unwritten law that mums stay actually, but usually all us mums stay and chat anyway. Today, it is a three way joint party!
The mums are all good friends and we meet up regularly anyway. Two friends both have DD's who are 2, and the other birthday is our other friend (she is very heavily pregnant so we thought we'd spoil her a bit too)
The invite was for my DD2 really, there were 6 of us in the village who were all pregnant at the same time. I gave birth first...then the friend (who is now heavily pregnant again!...mad woman!)who's b'day it is gave birth a week after me....and then everyone else followed!

The two little girls who are celebrating today were born 14 hours apart and the mums are neighbours!!! (hence the joint party)

We kept the hospital very busy this time 2 years ago!!!!

Out of all the 6 pregnancies only one had a boy....and she is now hoping to have a girl (she's the heavily pregnant one) she already has 3 boys!!

LOL...sorry what a ramble!!!

Well you did ask lololol

TheMadScaryHouse · 26/10/2007 09:29

Morning All

Well I am feeling pretty under the weather this morning - high temp etc, but DH has had to go to work, so I will try and take it easy, although DS2 was sick during the night, so I have to change his bedding again (only did it yerterday).

So off to music with them and then hopefully they will sleep for England and I can have a nap too

BiancaCastafiore · 26/10/2007 12:06

Phew, we did invite our friends to play and they have just left - they ended up arriving at 9.15 so my two were still having breakfast! Everyone has had much fun, emptying everything out all over dds nice tidy room At least it's all easy to put away again since my big clear-out.

I think we'll try to fit in a quick run into town before lunch, then we're home for the afternoon.

Hope you feel better soon THSH simply, EHM, neverenough hello

OP posts:
ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 13:35

We are back from the party...LOTS of small people in one place!!!!!
Kids seem actually quite tired, they have all just gone upstairs to play.

My friends house is lovely
(However.....she was on tender hooks all morning as loads of kids were bounding all over her lovely CREAM sofas!....she actually made everyone go outside for cake .....that is the good thing about our house...everything is sooooo old it really doesn't matter what gets spilled/jumped on etc.)

Neverenoughpumpkins · 26/10/2007 13:40

Aargh cream sofas! When will we learn?
Have a good afternoon all

spookybatoscar · 26/10/2007 14:10

Hey FLY Ladies

I think/feel I need some help/advice please. I work very hard trying to keep on top of the housework in my little house but I never seem to do enough, it never seems right and it never seems to last more than 1/2 a day.

No body notices if I do anything and if I do it gets messed up again.

I feel I'm going round in a huge circle but getting nowhere and I'm getting very little from a lot of effort

All suggestions gratefully recieved

TIA

Neverenoughpumpkins · 26/10/2007 14:42

Hi Spookybatoscar.

It takes time for others to notice and then start helping out.
Above all, I stick to my routines for me-and avoid perfection-good enough is just that!
And if I don't get everything done there is always another day.
But overall things are much better since I started flying!
Hope that helps!

spookybatoscar · 26/10/2007 14:48

Thanks Pumpkins

I've been flying since January and I'm now feeling that the more I do get done gives DH the carte blanche to do less and less. I'm feeling like the LittleOscarthatDoes rather than ...me

Maybe I'm becoming too exacting of myself too. I know there is stuff to be done but never get the gumption to tackle it. Then feel 'why should I, who notices, who cares?'

Oh heck

Simply · 26/10/2007 14:51

sbo this might be of some help to you

I'll take another look in my watch list and see if I have any other threads.

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 14:52

GO Awwww I know the feeling, we don't have a very big house either, but it sure does take a lot of tidying. I feel I have weeks where no matter what I do I can't get on top...and then I have days were it all goes ok. I agree with neverenoughpumpkins though, don't try to be a perfectionist, other wise you end up never actually doing anything except the housework...constantly (well that how it is for me I find)
Just relax and do what you can, when you can.
No one ever notices anything in our house (well except me of course)...but I am damned sure they would notice if you didn't do it.

I have been looking on Ebay...it occured to me that DD2 was given a Kitchen for her birthday by my MIL...but she doesn't actually seem to have anything to go with it! I was trying to find her some of the plastic food, and plates etc that she can play with, but the postage is ridiculuos! how can plastic weigh so much!

She will have to wait until xmas now I think

Simply · 26/10/2007 14:53

And maybe this one:-

here

Simply · 26/10/2007 14:55

Just a quickie. luda I might be near an ELC this coming week. Do you want to have a look on their website and if there is anything you want, I could buy it for you if I do get to an ELC?

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 14:56

GO I know exactly what you mean, so my sympathies are with you xxx (my dh really doesn't do very much around the house at all...I even pick up his pants FGS! He can't put anything away after he has used it, and I feel a bit like cinderella at times....but at least you can rest easy in the knowledge that you are doing the best you can, and if no one else appreciates it, I think I feel better in myself knowing I'm doing my best.

Simply · 26/10/2007 14:58

This one on admin stuff:-

here

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 14:59

Oh simply...you are so very kind!! Its ok though, I have spotted some in Argos, I can nip in next time I'm doing a lidls shop. I will have to wait until I have a spare bit of cash. (I was only thinking Ebay, as I have a bit of money in Paypal!)

She won't be missing it anyway, she has had the kitchen since the beginning of August with no excessories!
