Good morning, here's todays mission

OP posts:

This page 2 stuff is odd, isn't it?

luda That's fine. I'm going to iron my jeans and head for town in a mo. I'll park either at the Park & Ride or at Matalan (the spaces there are very tight, aren't they? I see a near miss every time I go there, too!) as I get caught up at the Retail Park with that stupid roundabout. It used to be much better before they built it, you know. >

Right. Better get ironing quickly. I need to be there soon!

It is odd you are right!

Well I have my xmas cake recipe, took me ages to decide on one
I plan to get it done over the holiday. I wanted to start it tonight, but realised I have a few ingredients missing.

ludaghoul · 26/10/2007 17:10

Feel a bit brighter about things now. Ed got interested in Lord of the Rings (I kid you not, my son scares me at times) so I went and tackled the 3 hotspots that were winding me up, cleaned and swept them. Now I know that they're done and that's all that matters.

Thanks for holding my hand (again) xx

tortoise · 26/10/2007 20:17

Hi all.
House is a tip but we had a good afternnoon at the pre-school halloween party.
DD's seem ok now. Although tonight is the main one to watch DD1 after the last few nights. She was last sick wednesday night so to follow her pattern it would happen tonight too but i am hoping the bug has passed now!!

Boys are at their Dads for the weekend so i hope to get some tidying up done.

Jas · 26/10/2007 20:19

Oscar - I meant to say earlier. Do you have a routine written down? If not, then writing down your morning and evening routines might help prompt your dh, as he will know what he should do if ou are not around/unwell etc.

We all know it needs doing, but even my (extremely unhelpful)dp will do a bit of my evening routine now that it is written down.

Have you read your ds the Hobit? My mum read it to her (infant ) class every year at school, with very little editing.

Jas · 26/10/2007 20:20

Oh, yes, and thankyou Simply for all those links. I've saved them to read properly later.

Neverenoughpumpkins · 26/10/2007 20:35

Bianca thanks for the second link-love that too-it even got DD2 out of the TV room and DH singing along-I looove Basil Brush-and did I spot David Tennent in a kilt?????

Glad you're feeling happier GO-I know only too well how those niggly things can fester.

My DH, whilst lovely, has started doing things that need to be done when need be....it's taken some 4 years though!
The key really is the routine

BiancaCastafiore · 26/10/2007 22:00

Have you all seen this? ..and the related thread here

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 26/10/2007 22:06

Oh, and Grouchy I sooo know how you feel - sorry not to have commented earlier, I seem to have been here in short bursts today.
I spent hours last night getting downstairs all lovely and tidy - 24 hours later and you wouldn't think it'd been tidied in weeks
I really do think the routines help - I've found that since Jas re-did the babysteps I've been keeping on top of the basics miles better than I ever did before and am finally finding (very occasional) times when I am able to sit back and enjoy a better environment
