Best smelling laundry detergent?

I use Tesco own tabs and conditioner but the fresh wash smell is so brief and non existent once it's dry. Looking for recommendations of a strong fresh laundering product that lasts a little to make a switch too.

I agree with Pigletjohn, you get nose blind to what you use regularly.

I like the coop’s blue conditioner, and they are leaping bunny certified too,

Another vote for Smol! Swapped to this from Fairy when a friend who uses it lent me his jumper that smelt amazing. The scent really lasts, no fabric conditioner needed and it’s great not having to remember to buy it as they just send it to you as a subscription.

Has anyone tried their dishwasher tabs?

wellthatsunusual · 16/01/2021 20:56

I've tried the Smol dishwasher tablets but they are nowhere near as good as the laundry tabs. They're ok, they're not terrible. But just ok.

I always have 2 or 3 fabric softeners on the go as I become nose blind!

I only ever use fairy non bio. I hate strong smelling washing.

MirandaMarple · 16/01/2021 21:09

Fairy non bio powder and white vinegar in the softener drawer. Never had such fresh smelling, squeaky feeling washing.

Another one for Smol and to echo that I also didn't like the dishwasher tablets as much.

I can’t bear it when newly clean laundry doesn’t smell of anything!

I use Surf laundry liquid, usually the tropical lily and ylang ylang as that’s the only one I’ve found with a lovely lasting scent. Then I use Lenor Unstoppables, in ‘Dreams’ as that is bloody gorgeous. I don’t use fabric conditioner so instead I use Astonish Laundry Cleanser, and that really makes my laundry smell lovely and fresh, even after tumble drying.

I recently bought the Lidl Alamat(?) non bio powder and it smells just like Fairy non bio.

@dementedma

Smol. You get it delivered in cardboard sleeves to cut out all the plastic tubs and bottles. Its environmentally friendly, washes well and smells lovely. Try it. You wont go back to supermarket stuff.
I went back to supermarket stuff 🤔

My postman wouldn’t leave the parcel as it was bigger than my 1920s letterbox!

Have to say I got used to the smell of smol very quickly.

I do what one of the pp suggested and rotate two different detergents with or without two fabric softeners, so I don’t get used to the smell
