Morning (possibly afternoon by the time I post!)

Meg don't blame you for deleting social media, I have snoozed many people and have seen some completely ridiculous posts recently Shock same on MN tbh!

I'm not working today so we've had a pretty chilled out morning which has been nice, very different to yesterday!

Ta das
Cleaned downstairs loo
Dishwasher on
2 X loads of washing on
Helped the dc do their basket weaving Smile the results were not great but they're very pleased anyway!
Spent time outside with the dc, bubble machine and painting
Tidied kitchen and most of living room
Washing up
Took rubbish out to bins

To do
Finish living room tidy up
Tidying upstairs
S&s bathroom
Hang next load of washing out
Empty and reload dishwasher
Dust living room / including all the shelves etc

I've been faffing over what to do for dinner because I stupidly didn't order enough veg and now I've signed up to the veg box but we won't get our first one until next Friday...so I think there will be a lot of frozen peas in our lives this coming week Grin . Anyway I've got a few bits of veg for tonight so will do cod with pesto , tomatoes, pepper and sweet potato. That's the plan anyway! Trying to avoid any takeaways this weekend because last weekend we ended up having two in a row...Blush

Off to make the kids lunch now, bye for now!

I’m in a mood so I’ll say not much 😑😑😑 I would like to say meeting friends but still not sure if that’s happening.

I’m looking forward to DD1 having the normality (sort of) back with school next week, and hopefully having much less to do work wise because we’ve reduced the workload so much (between her working hard and me negotiating with the school).

I’m looking forward to starting my counselling skills course and feeling like I’m studying properly again.

Also looking forward to chatting with my support worker when she’s back from leave. Not for support but just because we enjoy chatting about random stuff and always have a laugh, over email as well.

Gah. Sorry, feeling a bit sorry for myself today, having a POTS flare up as well 🙄

Smartcasual · 29/05/2020 14:11

Lane these are tough times indeed, and I think we are all weary of lockdown and want things back to normal. Certainly tempers and patience are starting to fray a bit here. All this uncertainty is deeply wearing too. Hang in there and hope call with support worker helps a bit x

Your dinner sounds lovely Foxes

Great question Lisette - a much needed reminder to count my blessings - I am looking forward to planning dd's birthday party, seeing dhorse and receiving my new monthly magazine subscription.

Zoo ah fun times ahead re: teen fashion, dd is in to schoolgirl grunge which sounds a bit dubious to me (grunge bit fine, school girl not sure about connotations , but there again she is a school girl...) all very confusing Confused Argh I am too old for this!

Dh just learned that he has no alternative but to travel next week for work and I am very worried for him despite social distancing measures that will be in place. So I've gone from finding some of his habits, shall we say, a bit wearing, to desperately not wanting him not to go anyway ... all in the space of 30 seconds Confused

Slow progress today. Feel like I am walking through treacle. Might give up and sit on the terrace in the sunshine as it's a beautiful day. Argh but there is so much to do ... .

Smartcasual · 29/05/2020 14:13

Gah meant go anywhere (not anyway!)

KTCluck · 29/05/2020 17:47

Greetings from the naughty corner. No weeding done today although I have just watered the plants. DD convinces me to blow the paddling pool up again. Took half an hour by the time I’d pumped it up, cleaned it down and filled it. She was in approximately 5 mins Hmm. We’ve also had a bike ride and half an hour paddling in the sea. Just finished a tea of leftover curry. I’ve stacked the DW and brought in various items from the garden. I’m not planning on moving again!

Missed KCC earlier - I’m looking forward to DD going back to nursery next week to get her back into a routine and some stimulation other than us. I’m also excited as my DSis is planning on coming and sitting in the front garden for a cuppa tomorrow night. I’ve missed gossiping with her.

Has anyone else’s MN gone a bit weird? I’ve lost all my watched posts and for some reason Foxes posts are green rather than Lisette’s and the first few posts on the thread have vanished.

Sorry you’re feeling a bit crap Lane Flowers

That was kind of you baking for dp Zoo. Hope meeting up went well.

HungryHazelEyes · 29/05/2020 19:35

I'm so sorry to hear you're all having a tough time right now, between flooding, birds invading, disappointments with help and feeling down/ bad moods. I hope the weekend can give you all a restart and respite. Sorry for not being more personal, I'm afraid I would miss someone (probably already have!) Or mix it up somehow.

With being back to normal schedule at work I'm not able to get as much done around the house. With the nice weather I want to be outside pottering about in the garden!

I did vacuum at work today, and yesterday did a quick wipe down of the bathrooms since we are now open to the public. Cleaners won't be back for a while, although it's frustrating as it seems I'm the only one who does clean anything in the office. I do give them plenty of opportunity, I last vacuumed 2 weeks ago (&mopped, but I wasn't about to do that today) and no one has even bothered, even though it's needed it for over a week now 🤬 oh well.

I'll be going back soon, just on my lunch break, glass needs cleaning all around the office so I plan on doing that this afternoon.

Hopefully I'll be back on later. 👋

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/05/2020 20:17

Place we planned walk wasn't openso ended up at a forest.was cool and shady so that was a win.was glad get mask off out if the car...
Felt guilty waving him off with a pack up.bext week we will try picnic in back garden after

Super exhausted
Dd2depressed and yelled at me lots today
Been a long one...

LaneBoy · 29/05/2020 22:10

Almost, almost caught up with the end of the last thread! And while I won’t comment on the rest of the stuff I’d regretfully missed at the time, I just wanted to say Bower your description of your ideal gap year was just completely amazing. I loved the detail, imagining you seeing all these people from your past 💕 I have had a shitty day and it really cheered me up and made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

ta da
🐍English with DD1
🐍maths with DD1

That’s it. Took enough mental energy in the morning and due to flare up and generally wallowing in self pity I haven’t bothered with anything else today.

JigoloHarMegiddo · 30/05/2020 07:35

Oh Lane, I'm really sorry things are tough at the moment. 💐. You did get homework done with DD1, though, which is a major achievement.

We had a funny day with not much of value done, although I did bake an orange loaf cake which is now completely gone! It smelled so nice we'd cut into it before it was 90 seconds out of the oven, so it was very crumbly, but it was so nice, like a slice of marmalade. I shall make sure I always have a packet in the cupboard from now on. Today, I might try making Hazel's lemon and blueberry keto loaf, as I am back on it after 2 days of non-keto indulgence that have made me feel rubbish.

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 30/05/2020 08:09

This morning i have woken up to the realisation half term is almost over

RIP half term

Fluffiest · 30/05/2020 08:18

Whar I'm looking forward to - Had a phone call from nursery yesterday, DD can go back on the 15th June, and they will call us the week before to confirm drop off and pick up times, as they are trying to stagger them so parents aren't arriving at the same time. I'm really happy as I think DD will really benefit from seeing and playing with other children again.

My Saturday plans are going to be very laid back today. I'm going to wash the bedding and do a little gardening. But mostly I'm hoping for a paddling pool, ice cream and reading in the sunshine kind of day.

JigoloHarMegiddo · 30/05/2020 08:55

Sounds like a lovely day, Fluff. I am currently in the queue to get into Tesco!

Fluffiest · 30/05/2020 09:09

Oh good luck jigolo ,hope you have a smooth sailing shop. It's still a very weird experience at the moment

Dancingtomusic · 30/05/2020 09:23

Morning everyone,

goodness so much has happened, burst pipes, birds, mice, feeling low. Hope you are ok and that it all got, or is getting sorted. I think I would post you all a big bar of chocolate- galaxy. Honestly sending out a massive Bear hug to anyone who needs it.

Love all the cooking and baking here it sounds so tasty. The orange cake sounds amazing. Cod and pesto sound delish.

Really like the idea of sewing bunting. Most of my rooms in my house have bunting in them (store bought as i could never get started to make any.)

Yesterday was so busy, sorted a bookcase for fraggles room. Now got to sort lots more so we can walk onto the room!
Today is cooking day so probably Chicken curry, Chard lightly steamed into a curry, chappatis and rice.

I have to confess, I was away for a while here as I when on a bender of internet shopping. I was hunting down lindybop dresses. I spent 3 days staring at my screen and realised I must have a addiction to ebay. So after ordering lots of cheerful dresses, I have told myself to stay off ebay. I am considering asking my Dsis to change my account password.

I was not on any social media platfroms before lockdown (joined mumsnet and instagram for the workout with Zero gravity pilates- amazing)
I had facebook but I have no idea how to use it. I didnt use social media as I was worried about negative comments. I am glad I am on the kind and supportive mumsnet thread here. So thank you for being kind.

I thought it was just me, some posts are missing as I find the conversations jump topics abit.

A big staturday morning cheery wave to everyone.
Off to make a cup of tea.

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 30/05/2020 09:59

dancing i now really want curry! A bit early though i think!

Re the bunting i just want to make my garden look a bit better because i really dislike it

LaneBoy · 30/05/2020 10:23

Morning all. I am proud to announce I have finally completely caught up with the last thread (last night) and this one (just now!) :o

KT well done on your weight loss! Mine went up a bit this week - less than a pound so could be worse but I have a feeling Monday’s weigh in will be much worse. My motivation needs a search party!

Meg :o at persona outfits. Yesterday’s was staying in my “fuck off and leave me alone” pyjamas. I should probably get dressed today.

Yikes at all the house disasters I missed! That would tip me over the edge I think, mainly because the house is quite enough of a disaster already :o

Must go and sort DD1 some work (maths and English - that’s basically all that needs doing now other than some music which is already printed), motivate DS into doing taekwondo (feeling a bit guilty that I didn’t bother with scouts last night but it just felt too much to organise) and hope that DH can take over at some point as between toddler waking up strangely frequently and a stowaway fly buzzing around right by my ear I got fuck all sleep 🤬🤬🤬

LaneBoy · 30/05/2020 10:27

I should point out that my pyjamas don’t actually SAY “fuck off and leave me alone”. I give off that aura all by myself. :o

I can hear DH moving around. I should probably get myself and the toddler breakfast. We have leftover gateau for after DS’ TKD class :o

KTCluck · 30/05/2020 10:30

Ooh the orange loaf sounds lovely meg, do you have a link to the recipe please when you have a minute?

Glad you find the thread supportive dancing. Enjoy your lindybop dresses. I have a few from a while ago that I haven’t worn for ages. Might see if I can squeeze into one today!

Ta da (while DH took DD for an early morning walk)
✅ beds made
✅ LOL
✅ living room window cleaned
✅ pulled TV out and hoovered / cleaned behind, wiped cables etc, gave tv a thorough wipe, put it all back together
✅ pulled out both sofas and end tables, hoovered and mopped underneath
✅ rest of dusting, hoovering and mopping in living room
✅ wiped dining table
✅ dusted dining room / kitchen shelves
✅ hoovered and mopped hall, dining room, kitchen, utility and downstairs loo

Just finished breakfast and off to get dressed. Need to do s & s, hang laundry out and put some clean clothes away. Other than feeding, washing up and potentially some pottering in the garden I am not doing anything else. Also planning a relaxing Saturday Fluff. Hope all the fledglings manage the same.

KTCluck · 30/05/2020 10:34

Oh and cross post Lane. Grin at pjs. I need a pair of those. Don’t be disheartened, less than a pound is nothing. Hope you’re feeling better today.

Lisette1940 · 30/05/2020 12:04

Oh Dancing I'd love some galaxy. I've just been out for a run/walk slathered in sun cream and it was hard today. I ran my usual routine but the body's biorhythms were off and I was slower than usual. Meh. At least I completed my run.

Baby step 30 today here look ahead to next month's calendar

Last day in living room. Daily focus is family fun.

KCC - hammocks and parasols in the naughty corner with social distancing strictly enforced to Professor Whitty's standards for the fledglings' BBQ.

Question: what is your favourite barbeque treat? I'd go for ribs and prawns with toasted marshmallows and Eton mess to follow. Tipple of choice: frascati. Steaming Van Morrison's Astral weeks because it reminds me of white wine and summer. I'm in lovely garden in Galway because Galway is my favourite Irish city and I have fond memories of it.

OP posts:
Lisette1940 · 30/05/2020 12:05

I'm not actually in Galway - it's part of the BBQ fantasy

OP posts:
Lisette1940 · 30/05/2020 12:19

Lane - less than a pound is a burp you're holding in. Doesn't count at all. I find that my weight skips up and down but is usually on a downward trend so don't take a single weight value as gospel.

OP posts:
LaneBoy · 30/05/2020 12:42

:o that made me laugh lisette

DD1 feeling somewhat brain dead today after staying up late painting, so maths has been very painful! 2 sheets a day is the plan though and if we slack then it’s impossible to convince her to do any 🙄 still I am glad I let her paint Kpop stuff on her walls - I don’t see why not TBH, we will be living here years if not decades most likely, and we have to repaint before moving anyway. Cagletini will be moving in with her at some point but she loves Kpop too 😂

She’s waiting to hear if she can meet a friend today or not though so she’s a bit stressed. At least one friend is keen to though. I appear not to be so lucky on that front, still. I am pleased some of you have been able to have socially distant meet ups or doorstep visits but can I admit to being a bit envious 🙈

Barbecue - much as I love the idea of fancy marinades and such, on the very rare occasion I attend one then I’m all about the bog standard burger or sausage in a bun with ketchup and preferably fried onions. Salad (I am a bit obsessed with salad atm) and potato salad accompanying, and some kind of juice or very cold fizzy stuff. Perhaps Schloer so I can pretend I’m a grown up who likes wine.

Lisette1940 · 30/05/2020 12:59

I'm with you on the potato salad lane
