New mattress too deep for fitted sheet

skiclothes · 25/04/2020 11:49

We have just bought a new mattress (king size) but it seems too deep for our king size fitted sheets.
The sheets don’t stretch enough over the edges so they come off in the night.
Does anyone have any suggestions for sheets that are deeper than usual ones?

I know I could use a flat sheet but I don’t have the patience for it!

John Lewis sell deep fitted sheets. We had the same problem and theirs seemed to work.

pinkrocker · 25/04/2020 11:52

Bought some extra deep fitted ones off Amazon. They are so extra deep that they are baggy! Grin

you can get "extra deep" sheets, I get the 400 thread count ones from viceroy bedding on ebay....

They do all sorts including flanelette, and cheaper ones.

M&S extra deep fitted sheets are good and deep.

bigbluebus · 25/04/2020 11:54

Think Dunelm do deeper sheets although possibly only in white/cream.

GreyishDays · 25/04/2020 11:55

Measure it and find some on amazon that are the right depth.

I think I’m missing something though. You’ve said you need extra deep sheets, so you need to buy some.

Mustrryharder · 25/04/2020 11:55

Next also sell deep sheets

HollyBollyBooBoo · 25/04/2020 11:56

Measure the depth and order either deep or extra deep from John Lewis, M&S etc.

Dunelm dorma fitted sheets are amazing and are available up to 35cm depth. Link below:

They also come in a range of colours and thread counts depending on what you're looking for.

Oblomov20 · 25/04/2020 12:00

I have this. I need deeper sheets. They aren't that easy to come by.

starfishmummy · 25/04/2020 14:51

Flats every time

skiclothes · 25/04/2020 15:38

Thanks all! I didn’t know deep sheets were a thing 😂

We have up after years of buying extra deep sheets that still came off
My life has been changed by flat sheets.

Frariedeamin · 25/04/2020 15:44

Dunelm extra deep fitted sheets here! I agree with PP to measure your mattress as standard ‘extra deep’ seem to be in the 35cm range and we need 38cm.

Frariedeamin · 25/04/2020 15:45

@Yesterdayforgotten the white version of the one you have linked to comes in a 38cm depth - the 35cm was no good for us!

Yesterdayforgotten · 25/04/2020 16:50

Yes dunelm is the place for deep sheets!

Paddington68 · 25/04/2020 16:56

Move away from fitted sheets when we had similar issue. Never looked back.

Cornishbumpkin · 25/04/2020 16:57

Measure the depth of your mattress as some sheets that advertise as extra depth won't be deep enough

User18492725204065241 · 25/04/2020 16:58

I have the opposite problem, all my sheets are 'extra deep' and our replacement mattress is about half the depth of the old one, so our sheets are baggy.

Mustbetimeforachange · 25/04/2020 17:03

Even 38 not deep enough for us. Honestly, flat sheets are the way to go. Learn to do hospital corners & they won't budge.

skiclothes · 25/04/2020 17:09

I can do hospital corners, just can’t be bothered to do them regularly 😂

I had same problem, bought extra deep sheets and although they were initially ok , after washing they've become impossible to get over the corners of the mattress , I even tore one ! I've gone back to flat sheets now and much easier to fold too .

Yesterdayforgotten · 25/04/2020 17:14

@User18492725204065241 yes I've noticed that they are making them thinner now with new technology and foam etc
