Best way to clean glass shower screen?

Had a new glass shower screen fitted today for other reasons. My last one was cleaned once a week with a bathroom cleaner and I even used specific stuff for watermarks/limescale however that made no difference and it always looked so dirty with mainly watermarks. How do I go about keeping this one perfectly clear? More cleaning? Other products?

I use spirit vinegar (acidic so should remove lime scale) and a soft cloth, then rinse off with water. Seems to do the trick, but I'm not in a particularly hard water area.

Squeegee hanging up in the shower, everyone squeegees the water off the glass after their shower. Spray with some shower shine once or twice a week and occasionally go at it with a bit of vinegar solution. Also don't live in a hard water area. I have absolutely no idea how people in hard water areas manage to keep the limescale at bay it's a menace

I do unfortunately live in a hard water area 😩 there is no chance my 12 year old will use a squeegee after his showers but me and my partner can make the effort to. A shower curtain would have been much more preferable!

I learned the trick of cleaning all glass with washing up liquid on a damp cloth, immediately followed by a microfibre dry cloth. Works perfectly and quickly.

We dry ours off with a microfibre cloth after every shower. 11 and 12yr old as well. I don’t present it as an optional activity for them!

Absolutely not an optional activity. My six year old manages it, a 12 year old certainly can.

Anyone who 'forgets' gets sent back up to do it and if they are dressed and end up wet, or late, then that is entirely their own fault and they rarely forget twice.

Window spray works well for us

My (fairly) new shower screen had been treated to prevent the build up of limescale. I intentionally picked it as we live in a very hard water area - have to descale the kettle every week! As a PP said, squeegee and the occasional spray down has worked, although we've been a bit lax recently and it's started to build up again. It stinks, but Lime and Grime stuff works, it's in a neon green bottle. I feel your pain!

Yep, you need to dry the glass or the water will set, particularly hard water.

I have the electronic karcher window vac, it’s lots of fun to use.

(Side note, but I’d really try to overcome domestic drudgery not being a part of your sons life, there’s too many men who think communal living is an opt out for them because they’ve always been lead to believe that’s the case.)

We live in a very hard water area and have black tapware...(i know silly idea and definitely investing in a water softener) We use the marcher after every shower too. I found a little trick that works really well. I mix steriliser crystals from boots in a spray water with water. Just spray and leave for a couple of minutes, run with a non scratch sponge. Then suck up with the vac. Super shiny and no water marks.

Clean the screen both sides with your normal bathroom cleaner, allow to dry or dry with Microfibre cloths. Use a glass cleaner and Microfibre cloth on both sides of screen. Then wipe over with clean dry Microfibre cloth.

I wipe it down each time.

White wine vinegar diluted in warm water, rubbed down with sponge and buffed with microfibre cloth.

Equal parts vinegar and washing up liquid. Rinse off then buff with a microfibre cloth.

Thank you all for suggestions! I’ve been wiping it dry after use but I’m sure I can already see faint marks. Will use some of your suggestions and hope it works 🙂

Viakal. Very hard water area here and it works like a dream.

I sprary Mr Muscle shower spay on the wet screen and never have to clean it properly.

I clean mine once a week with my usual bathroom cleaner, but spray after every shower with shower spray. Nothing fancy, the astonish one works well.

It does make a big difference, I stopped using shower spray as a test once and it looked manky after a couple of days.
