£80 window cleaner

TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 13:10

So not sure what the normal rate for a window cleaner is but I have just been quoted £80 for a bungalow with conservatory! Seems a bit much to me or is this standard rate now?

£7 here.

Cottage with 5 Large Windows and a set of French Doors.

Celebelly · 25/06/2019 13:12

Hmm, I pay £15 for four bedroom detached! £80 seems a heck of a lot - it's hardly going to take them three hours is it?!

Janus · 25/06/2019 13:12

Guess depends where you are? I have big old 5 bedroom house with loads of windows and it’s £45 so yours sounds a lot! I’d say I’m in an expe dive area but not London! Try and find a few to give you a quote.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/06/2019 13:12

£14 here for 3 bed terrace. But I’ve stopped it since being on maternity and cutting back generally and can’t tell the difference...

Daisydoesnt · 25/06/2019 13:15

That is a lot, but I expect it's the conservatory that's going to take the time to clean. How much glass in the conservatory compared to say a normal sized picture window? Will it be awkward to reach all the panes or will they need to use ladders/ rods?

TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 13:16

I live in southend, he was available tomorrow aswell so he obviously doesn't have many bookings!everyone else I call is fully booked.

£7 for a large 4 bed detached house

NoParticularPattern · 25/06/2019 13:21

Sounds dear. We have 25 windows and 3 doors to do and it costs us £25. Plus we are the only house down here so it’s not like they’re doing a whole street at the same time.

newmomof1 · 25/06/2019 13:32

I'd assume that he doesn't want to clean your windows...

Kyriesmum1 · 25/06/2019 13:32

Mine is £16 for a five bed bungalow with conservatory!!!!!

minisoksmakehardwork · 25/06/2019 13:37

£16 for a 3 bed detached with conservatory. Inc inside and outside of porch. 6 large windows, one door and conservatory, done every 6 weeks.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 25/06/2019 13:44

£80 is ridiculous for window cleaning.

Here which is a very nice village and I have 5 bedroom house which has a lot of windows and it’s £20, he’s here 40 minutes at the very most

Knittedfairies · 25/06/2019 13:46

£80 for a one-off window clean? Blimey.

MarshaBradyo · 25/06/2019 13:47

Just outside?

Crazyladee · 25/06/2019 13:50

We have a typical 4 bed with a conservatory and pay £11.

In theory you should pay less than me as obviously bungalows are easier. £80 is an obscene amount of money!! Where's he got that figure from??

AdoreTheBeach · 25/06/2019 13:50

The cost is likely because of the conservatory.

I pay £30 (inside M25 in Surrey). I have a friend who pays that just for her conservatory. First clean was a lot more because she hadn’t cleaned it in a while.

You might to clarify first clean price and subsequent clean price. Also, does that include clearing out the gutters on the conservatory

MarshaBradyo · 25/06/2019 13:52

I paid £30 or £40 for outside and quoted £60 for in and out 4 bed with conservatory

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 25/06/2019 13:56

Is that a deep clean. Gutters etc.

How much for maintenance clean and how frequently would they expect to be doing ongoing clean before they say too long a break if you don't commit to regular clean.

pikapikachu · 25/06/2019 14:19

£12.50 for 4 bed detached here.

Helpwooof · 25/06/2019 14:21

£40 for a large 4 bed house... but we have 20+ windows and one side of our house is just glass

EnidButton · 25/06/2019 14:28

Do you live in Buckingham Palace? That's ridiculous!

We do our own now but it was about a tenner. 7 windows plus 4 glass doors and two bay windows. My friend pays £6 for her terraced house (so they have to go up to a three story height but slightly less windows)

Can't believe people are just saying it 'seems' a lot. It's taking the piss level daylight robbery.

BuildBuildings · 25/06/2019 14:32

£7 for terrace. We're on a hill so 2 stories on one side 3 on the other. 5 windows all together.

BuildBuildings · 25/06/2019 14:32

This is once a month btw

dreichuplands · 25/06/2019 14:35

Is this just windows or does it include gutters and facias?

InsertFunnyUsername · 25/06/2019 14:36

£80!

3 bed house here for £9 here.
