TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 13:10

So not sure what the normal rate for a window cleaner is but I have just been quoted £80 for a bungalow with conservatory! Seems a bit much to me or is this standard rate now?

Incase i didnt make that obvious.

Here. 😂

TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 14:38

This is just outside and just windows, I think he has over quoted us rather than saying he cant do the job but then I don't understand why you'd do that, just say you don't want to do it!

I have a large six bed house with lots of large glass doors, a glass roof over the deck and an annexe and pay £55. He's taking the mick

Drogonssmile · 25/06/2019 14:42

We pay £10 every three weeks for a 4 bed detached with conservatory.

Pipandmum · 25/06/2019 14:46

I have a large house and orangery extension - four sets of glass French doors, four sets of bay windows and so on and it’s £45 outside only.

stucknoue · 25/06/2019 14:46

£25 here 5 bed detached with velux windows

misskatamari · 25/06/2019 14:47

I pay £9 a month for a three bed semi with conservatory, in the NW

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 25/06/2019 14:48

Bloody hell. We have 6 massive windows and two glass doors and they're cleaned every three weeks for £5.

ItWentInMyEye · 25/06/2019 14:49

£6 a month for 3 bed semi

MarshaBradyo · 25/06/2019 14:49

These prices! Is anyone in London with it so low

I must have overpaid if so

Cersei61 · 25/06/2019 14:52

2 bed end terrace, 11 windows, front door, stable door, all frames/cills etc = £12 a month.

I have the guttering cleaned out twice a year = £20 a time.

£80? just wow.

ExplodingCarrots · 25/06/2019 14:52

Yeah that's ridiculous. Sounds like he's trying to put you off...or really chancing his arm. I pay £10 for a 4 bed bungalow that has 2 Patio doors.

IDrinkAndISewThings · 25/06/2019 14:52

I've been quoted about that before, but that was from a specialist cleaning company to do a deep clean on all windows (three bed terrace with wooden sash and case windows - millions of panes!) INSIDE and out, and all woodwork/fiddly corners.

My regular window cleaner that just does the outside was about a fiver.

TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 15:15

The prices everyone is saying is so good, I remember my mum paying £12 when I lived at home about 10 years ago, I know things have got more expensive in that time but I thought that was too much, seems like I was right.

Fair to say I wont be messaging him back!!

Hi TinaG90. When you say conservatory, are you including the roof too?

Many thanks
Tony

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 25/06/2019 16:12

I had a really old farmhouse, with many panelled glass sash windows, the downstairs ones being a good 8ft tall so a huge undertaking. 16 massive windows and another 8 smaller windows total. They charged us £20 every time. A bargain for sure but still at a rate of well over £20 an hour as it of course never took anywhere near that long.

Her0utdoors · 25/06/2019 16:23

£10 for large 2 bed terrace in the North. Definitely could pay less, but they haven't put up their prices in nearly 10 years, are available to clean my rental properties at short notice and haven't tried to burgle me like the last lot did.

bebeboeuf · 25/06/2019 16:30

£15 for 2 bed house with conservatory

Iwantacookie · 25/06/2019 16:34

Are you sure you didn't ask for all the streets windows to be cleaned? Shock

TinaG90 · 25/06/2019 16:44

It does include the roof aswell,

Haha yeah everyone's window cleaning is on me in this road!

OP posts:
Redglitter · 25/06/2019 16:50

so he obviously doesn't have many bookings

Cant think why 🤔

FakeUsername · 25/06/2019 20:35

£10 in London! And I’m end of terrace with upstairs side windows and patio doors, he even clears the porch. I need to offer him more...

lll77 · 25/06/2019 22:23

I pay £7 for a once a month clean in Yorkshire. Given what you're all saying I should tell him needs to charge more!

3 bed semi, 2 bays at the front and another 9 sashes at the side and back.
