What is the best dishwasher? Miele vs Bosch? Or another?

We want a full size integrated dishwasher.

Priorities are:
Washes well
Energy efficient
Built to last
Quiet

I don’t care about funky extras like fast wash programs.
Miele get rave reviews but are so expensive- I’m tempted by this:

ao.com/product/g6065scvixxl-miele-standard-dishwasher-stainless-steel-46630-23.aspx
But how much??? I was thinking £400-£500.

Bosh also seem to get good reviews but this seems to be for the series 6 and the series 4 is more in our price range so I don’t know...
Any advice?

I and relatives have always had various Bosch Clasixx/Logixx machines, they're all very good.

We have had a very cheap Indesit one for the last 7 years, no issues whatsoever and gets everything super clean. I’d definitely buy another. It was £200 originally.

I’ve had two Bosch in my 15 years of dishwasher owning and they have been great. My first one lasted 11 years.

We have a ten year old Miele in perfect condition. It was the top of the line at the time we bought it, so can’t vouch for the others in the range.

I’ve had two dishwashers since 1999, both Bosch, can’t remember what failed in first one but was going to cost a substantial amount of a new one’s price to fix and since it was 12 years old, I bought a new one. I bemoaned the fact that the door wasn’t as substantial as my first one, but I’ve had a trouble free 8 years so far.

I can’t bring myself to pay Miele prices for something as boring as appliances and their service charges for call outs out of guarantee are high too.

My first Bosch dishwasher lasted 16 years and a house move.

I was very unlucky and had the dishwasher and my washing machine pack up at the same time, dashed up to John Lewis and got their own brands. Big mistake, neither was any good or lasted long.

Now back to Bosch for both. The dishwasher is very, very quiet.

Ok thanks... sounds like overall Bosch might be a good way to go!

I had a Siemens which was still going when I moved house. It was 19 years old

Tatapie · 01/05/2019 22:11

Siemens is the way to go, can't remember why I was advised that tho sorry!

GinisLife · 01/05/2019 22:11

My Miele washing machine lasted 20 years with no servicing.

Celticrose · 01/05/2019 22:11

Also was very sorry to leave it behind. Now have an integrated Candy which is not as big and end up doing more washes. So wish I had got a Bosch or Siemens

DramaAlpaca · 01/05/2019 22:12

Over 24 years I've only had two dishwashers. The first one lasted 18 years, I've had the second one for six years. Both Bosch.

That Miele dishwasher was £899 this morning and now is back up to £1099! It’s definitely way out. I love that they’re built to last but no way would go over £1000 (I’d expect it to also put everything away, wipe all the surfaces, and mop the floor for that!)
Will look at Siemens too.. thanks
