Has anyone tried Koh eco-friendly cleaner?

I keep seeing ads for this and am very tempted. I like the fact it’s refillable so reducing plastic waste, and the ‘one product for everything’ idea. But... does it actually work? Would be grateful if anyone has any views (or alternative suggestions?)

killpop · 29/03/2019 07:11

Will PM you now Smile

I would love an update from recent buyers please.

I searched potassium hydroxide on Amazon and got quite a few results. Is there any reason why you can’t just buy this and add it to water in a spray bottle?

www.amazon.co.uk/s?ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_19&crid=1LDK9UL40NAVP&sprefix=Potassium+hydroxide%2Caps%2C191&k=potassium+hydroxide+koh&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Try splosh.com instead.

Eco friendly products, refillable and all packaging too. Been really impressed with them so far.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 31/03/2019 21:42

@FrogFairy I'm still really liking mine. I don't know about mixing it up myself. I guess the theory may be sound, but then I could
Churn my own butter and make my own bread. I'm capable of both but sadly a little too lazy 😂.

GnarlyOldGoatDude · 02/04/2019 17:56

Mine is good, but not as quite as groundbreaking as the advert on everything. It’s a very nice, easy to spray multi use cleaner. It did a great job on my disgusting extractor fan hood, and is good as a general household cleaner.

It hasn’t been amazing on baked on grease for example .
And ironically for all that it’s meant to be great for people with allergies, I have no allergies at all but find myself coughing with this one.

The diamond scrubber is good, but can scratch metal and glass.

I like it enough to carry on using it, but as per most things, it’s not quite as phenomenal as the fb adverts IMHO!

Brooklynmama · 07/05/2019 00:36

Killipop can you send me a referral code of you still have one that works? I tried to pm you but it didn't work. Tia!

Jzpap · 31/05/2019 18:33

I love Koh. I especially love it on glass as it's the ONLY product I've ever used that doesn't cause smearing, I use it with the white glass cloth that comes in the cloth bundle from Koh. Brilliant for all over the house. I was about to try it on the carpet but have seen a post above in this thread that says it's not advisable so maybe I'll give that a miss.

LKRJM · 31/05/2019 18:40

I got the set with the mop, 5 mop heads, 5 cloths, 3 magic sponges, a sprayer and a box of the solution and think it was about £40 on offer and that was January and still haven’t ran out of the solution.

Great for floors, cleaning windows and grubby worktops, the cloths are good but I try to hand wash or wash without cleaning detergent as they are micro fibre. The magic sponges are ace on ovens and my hob.

So far I haven’t found a negative, also you can fill the mop up with flash etc if you run out and don’t want to rebuy the solution.

I also have a link if anyone wants to PM me for £5 off!

LKRJM · 31/05/2019 18:41

Also forgot to add, there is no smell to the cleaner, safe for pets and children - this is great for me but I know friends who add zaflora or something to theirs for a scent

Mamaloompah · 09/06/2019 08:43

I’m interested in giving this a try after hearing lots of good things about it. Has anyone got a promo/refer code I can use?

Heymummee · 09/06/2019 08:44

My mum uses this and it’s brilliant. She cleaned her oven with it last weekend when I was visiting and it was sparkling!

Weathergirl1 · 09/06/2019 13:45

Actually it would make sense of it was potassium hydroxide in it as the chemical formula for that is KOH! I've been seeing adverts for it but I won't buy anything without seeing the ingredients list and when I checked their website they didn't list them.

sharon91451 · 28/06/2019 12:43

Killpop pm for discount code for koh please

melinda137 · 12/07/2019 06:55

Can I get your £5 off code please. Thank you x

Ab86 · 12/07/2019 20:27

I have been impressed with the ease of use so far. Make cleaning a lot easier. I have a referral code available if anyone would like.

Disfordarkchocolate · 12/07/2019 20:36

We love Spolsh too @Missmarplesknitting, I use the kitchen spray in lots of places. Great washing up liquid, washing powder fabric softener and bathroom cleaner too. Love how easy it is to order and how all the packing can either be recycled or composted. So concentrate and easy to use.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 15/07/2019 18:02

The Splosh bathroom cleaner really makes me cough. I like the handsoap and dishwashing liquid but I found the clothes washing stuff expensive - I prefer to buy Aldi tablets which come in a cardboard box. Might try Koh though if only for the windows - I simply cannot get mine to not be smeary!

DoctorNicoleWatterson · 24/07/2019 17:06
