What is the best to buy. Least elbow grease required.

Depends where the blood is/what is stained.

Runningintothesunset · 10/02/2019 12:20

If you haven’t already washed it then soak in cold salty water overnight - it’ll come out without any elbow grease! Obviously harder for carpets / walls...

Bigonesmallone3 · 10/02/2019 12:21

What colour/fabric is the stain on?

GookledyGobb · 10/02/2019 12:22

Effort is required I’m afraid but the old vanish bar gets blood out. Saturated with cold water rub on bar, leave for a few mins and scrub with the bar if needed until it’s gone entirely

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:24

Thanks. Clothes. Mostly dried by the time I'm given them. DD, heavy periods, all a bit new to her
I suspect it will be a monthly cleaning chore so looking for easy clean ways.

How much salt should I use?

I'd like a fail safe product I can buy too.
Thanks

I know it sounds gross but a large amount of saliva placed on the bloodstain works. The saliva needs to be from the person whose blood it is. It works best on fresh blood.

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:27

Yes a bit gross Grin. I can suggest it but I'm not sure ASD dd will be in favour

Bigonesmallone3 · 10/02/2019 12:28

😂 u would need a bloody lot of saliva for a heavy period stain

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:28

Just asked dd. Her reaction was comical Grin

I crossed posted and just seen it’s for your DDs periods so my tip is probably completely unsuitable! Can you imagine your DDs Aibu?

If I’ve not managed to do the spit thing I rinse in cold water then I soak overnight in a strong solution of Daz. It has to be Daz, no other bio powder seems to do the trick.

Murinae · 10/02/2019 12:29

Stick in a bucket of salty cold water and leave it to soak overnight. Buy a big pot of salt and add about 30-40 g or so to the bucket. I usually just tip some in.

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:29

So..

Salt, how much?

Best stain remover?

Iv always used shout or vanish.

Milton sterilising fluid on white items is amazing!

I don't know the salt trick 👀

Murinae · 10/02/2019 12:30

The salt bursts the red blood cells

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:31

Ok thanks. I'd better invest in a commercial tub of salt then lol

Biotex also works but hard to get hold of these days

BHStowel · 10/02/2019 12:32

Hanging head in shame. It’s a useful tip for needle finger prick blood on fabric though...

bluejelly · 10/02/2019 12:32

Vanish bars - cheap and extremely effective. In Poundland at the mo.

cittigirl · 10/02/2019 12:33

Aww, no need to feel embarrassed at your saliva producing skills Grin

OP posts:
AngelaStorm73 · 10/02/2019 12:33

Put them in cold water ASAP
Never hot

spicygirl26 · 10/02/2019 12:34

Elbow grease. Not as in the physical effort but the cleaning product. It's about a quid and is magic.

Runningintothesunset · 10/02/2019 12:38

The salt is magical - DS has a massive nosebleed in his sleep the other night and soaked all of his sheets and I didn’t find them until the next day. Spotless after a night’s soak.

Murinae · 10/02/2019 12:42

I usually buy one of these

Vanish Gold

RandomMess · 10/02/2019 13:12

Cold cold cold water and the vanish bar of soap.
