Today I mopped my bathroom floor for only about the 4th time since it was laid 4yrs ago. I bloody hate washing floors. I wet wipe the floor around the loo once in a while, well, maybe a couple of times a year.... Filthy, I know but am sure the bathroom didn't smell.
Who else has a chore they hate doing. Cant believe I'm the only mucky cow here.....

The bastarding oven. I hate cleaning it and also am frustratingly crap at it. I seem to spend ages just smearing the grease around and even when I think I’ve finished, the next time I switch it on, grease will dribble down from the door like the damn thing is incontinent.

lightisrightisnight · 28/01/2019 21:37

emptying the dishwasher (and filling it too!!)

cleaning floor in kitchen

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/01/2019 21:41

I hate floor washing, hoovering and oven cleaning so my husband does these. He's loving the Lakeland oven liner we just got. I hate cleaning the loo but I still do that. And towel washing, never ending.

loadofcrap10 · 28/01/2019 21:42

Ha ha, a woman after my own heart!
Am in my late 40s and have never cleaned an oven in my life. God, what a dirty cow I am. Luckily my current partner loves a good old clean of the oven

Cleaning skirting boards, it's laborious and they get dusty again so quickly

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/01/2019 21:50

Just stop cleaning the skirting boards if your husband won't hoover them Smile

MitziK · 28/01/2019 21:51

Dishwasher filter. Especially when somebody appears to be pathologically incapable of scraping the plates off before putting them inside

So much so, when it finally went poufft, I decided not to replace it.

Wetroom shower drain. Had a manky lodger for 18 months who had exclusive use of it. You do NOT want to know the sort of things I had to pull out of it whilst on hands and knees/with my nose just 2 foot away in order to get the bastarding thing to drain, rather than flood the entire downstairs.

I'm never having another lodger. I don't want to ever find out their procedures for dealing with body hair or post pub nausea. I'm scarred for life from the first dirty cow.

Emptying the sink now somebody leaves the unscraped plates in a bowl of cold water to 'soak overnight' and promptly forgets about it until we run out of cutlery

I might reconsider the dishwasher situation. or the somebody situation if this carries on

The oven is dealt with easily enough with Oven Pride. Evil stuff, but if done according to instructions and you have an old towel you don't mind chucking away afterwards, surprisingly minimal effort. And always cover things in there with casserole lids/foil/parchment paper to avoid spits/grease building up again.

e1y1 · 28/01/2019 23:18

Fucking dusting! Such a thankless task. Not keen on ironing either.

Fucking DESPISE doing dishes by hand (luckily have pretty much always had a dishwasher, except for 3 months when moving - the WORST 3 months of my life)

Everything else I don't mind. Can easily mop kitchen and bathroom floors 3-7 times a week. Oven spotless as it's never allowed to have been dirty [preens]

Betsy86 · 28/01/2019 23:22

Hate getting the wet washing out the machine, dealing with ut then putting the dried stuff away.
Love actually putting clothes into it just hate the rest.
Also hate unpacking food shopping.

2ellenor2 · 28/01/2019 23:23

Taking the rubbish out
I live on a top floor flat with no lift
There bins are rank as they’re shared

JiltedJohnsJulie · 29/01/2019 20:31

Cleaning the oven here too. Luckily DH has started to do it so I've dodged that job.

Washing up by hand. I love my dishwasher so much as now I don't have to wash up Smile

user1494055864 · 29/01/2019 21:02

Ironing, I know ironing has pretty much been banned by mumsnet, but things do get creased.

I'm fine with most household tasks, it's just the relentlessness of it. Even the washing is getting me down at the moment. Housework is never finished.

CinnamonToaster · 31/01/2019 13:50

Vacuuming. I loathe it.

I said to DH recently "I hate this vacuum cleaner." He replied, "yes. You hated the last 3 too."

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 15:14

Ironing is OK as long as I do it all at once. The things that are to be ironed need to not be as dry as a bone. I only iron things that look bad if not ironed, but I'll sometimes do t-shirts if the iron is switched off but still hot.
Getting the ironing board and iron out, and putting them away are the worst bits. I iron clothes in the same way each time. Fave music or tv and a glass of wine help.

Hoovering. Hate this. Long hair and pet hair means I have to sweep the carpets first or the vacuum will need emptying. That is unpleasant.

I am not very houseproud.

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 15:15

The shower plughole fills up quickly so I try to do it every few days.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 01/02/2019 15:17

Putting the kitchen bin out. I sometimes change the bin liner before it is quite full because I can't live with the tension of seeing it almost needs changing every time I press the pedal to put something in.

Rainatnight · 01/02/2019 15:17

Putting laundry away. I don't know why. Find it vaguely enraging.

Ironing too, but I get round that by not doing it.

Never clean the oven - I get someone in.

Moominfan · 01/02/2019 16:33

Alas he is under the patio

BackforGood · 01/02/2019 16:53

Putting the compost out from the tub in the kitchen, to the big compost bin in the garden.

....... mind, I'm only thinking of jobs I actually do - there are many jobs that get mentioned on MN that I didn't know were actual jobs, and I've owned my own homes for 28 years Wink

FrenchyQ · 01/02/2019 17:00

Cleaning the bathroom
Emptying the dishwasher filter
Poop scooping the garden
As apparently I'm the only one capable of doing these things

mrsoutnumbered · 01/02/2019 17:45

Bloody hate cleaning the bastard oven too. I put one of those mat things on the bottom to make it easier to clean, but I still loathe it.

And floors. Hate cleaning floors.

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 18:46

The cat litter tray.

Fanciedachange1 · 02/02/2019 13:13

Cleaning the kitchen sink. I hate the little bits of food that seem to accumulate in the plug cover thing.

My favourite is removing the fluff from the tumble dryer!

Stompythedinosaur · 03/02/2019 16:31

Changing the sheets on bunk beds, closely followed by cleaning out the duck house. Trying to pair dp's similar but not the same black socks is a close third.

Straightomyhead · 03/02/2019 16:37

Ironing. If I can get away with shaking it and hanging it straight up then I will.
