Vacuum bags - won’t stay vacuum packed. Annoying first world problem

They’re such a great idea but then are never, never as good as I’m expecting them to be! Hmm

I had a clear out yesterday and 4/8 of the bags I’ve used have deflated. It’s always the same. They either don’t stay airless or worse won’t work at all despite fiddling with (swearing profusely at) the valve , the seal etc etc.

Is there a wonderful place that I should be buying better ones from? Mine are from Asda/B&M type shops.

We have recently updated our guide to the best vacuum storage bags including the best bags for storing duvets and the best for taking away on your holidays. All tried, tested and recommended by Mumsnet users.

I've found the bags from Lakeland to be better than others. For others I have where air does creep in gradually, I cram the airless bags into a small space while they're as small as possible and if they try to expand, they just don't have anywhere to go.

Many thanks Pippi! I think maybe I need better quality bags 😀 (or less junk to put in them😉)
