What products/habits have revolutionised your housekeeping?

I've just bought an E-cloth mop system, and I love it: quick, easy and no clatting about with a mop bucket!

So, do you have any other products/routines that you wish to share?

I love my cordless hoover. 40 mins charge and I can do the whole house on the charge and then some. I dont have to stop un-plug several times which makes it quicker and its a hell of a lot lighter as well when carrying around.

I'm probably the last to the party but colour catcher sheets for the washing machine! I can now hurl everything in together, no more separating colours and whites, and half the number of loads!

elQuintoConyo · 10/09/2018 15:16

DH.

carbuckety · 10/09/2018 15:16

Robot vacuum cleaner. Spray mop. Awesome

Talith · 10/09/2018 15:17

Silicone pan scrapers. Thin plastic white squares which can probably lift tarmac off the road.

TheSpottedZebra · 10/09/2018 15:18

Ooh, what's a silicone pan scraper, Talith ? Do I need one.

I also echo cordless hoover. SO much easier on my back.

doris9034 · 10/09/2018 15:19

An over door hanger thing with baskets on for storage - totally transformed my postage stamp sized kitchen

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 10/09/2018 15:25

Cordless vacuum, should've jumped on the bandwagon years ago and microfibre cloths, why have I never bought them until recently!

I too need to know what a silicone pan scraper is because I'm sure I MUST need one!

Skippingabeat · 10/09/2018 15:43

DearTeddy I never even knew these existed!! I just placed an order on Amazon. You might have changed my life.

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 10/09/2018 15:56

skipping yes colour catcher sheets are life changing. Everything slung in together, no faffing doing a tiny half load of whites and then cursing about the waste of fuel and water. When we moved last year we had our first ever water meter, I was determined to do everything in my power to keep the bill down and now pay far less when we just paid the yearly charge.

MeloCocoBanan · 10/09/2018 15:56

Spray mop. Somehow makes cleaning the hard floors less of a chore.

Synecdoche · 10/09/2018 16:14

A dishwasher! Would never be without now.

Talith · 10/09/2018 16:24

MrSpottedZebra these are the little fellas I'm on about, great for getting shite off the oven door especially...:

Silicone Pan Scrapers

Talith · 10/09/2018 16:25

Soz TheSpottedZebra not Mr!

Washedwithrain · 10/09/2018 16:26

Magic sponges. Use them on everything.

CutesyUserName · 10/09/2018 17:09

@DearTeddy: Thank you! I had no idea these existed and have just ordered some. Who knew! (probably everyone but me)

Meet0nTheIedge · 10/09/2018 17:12

Cordless vac, spray mop, magic eraser sponges, steam cleaner. I don't get the latter out very often but when I do it just powers through all the grot-spots.

SlimmingMumOf1 · 10/09/2018 18:16

The Pink Stuff
Zoflora

DearTeddyRobinson · 10/09/2018 19:27

Smile I thought I was the last one to find out about them! We also had to get a new washing machine recently as our old one died, the new one has a 9kg capacity and I hate the thought of not using every bit of it!

ApplestheHare · 10/09/2018 19:30

fromtheshires which cordless have you got? I'm desperate for one but it needs to be very light and run for a decent amount of time.

TulipsInBloom1 · 10/09/2018 19:34

The Vileda 123 spray mop.
A wooden handled brush for dishes.

fromtheshires · 10/09/2018 19:47

@ApplestheHare I have a G-Tech AirRAM K9. Its a tad more than the non animal version but it has more suction power.

Im deffo going to get a silicone scraper

Mrswalliams1 · 10/09/2018 19:51

Without a doubt my ILife robotic hoover. Saves me hours every week. I just love it

ApplestheHare · 10/09/2018 20:50

Thank you fromtheshires Does that mean it's good for pet hair?? I forgot to include my third must have!

Plural · 10/09/2018 20:55
