How often do you wash...

How often do you wash your jeans?
I wash mine after wearing them 2-3 times. My partner washed his jeans maybe once a month. Upon googling it, I never knew he wasn't the only person to do this!

I should add I only wear them at the weekend too so usually about once a month I'll chuck all the jeans in our house into a load

said frugal, not resources. I'm not sure once cancels out the other anyway. You can't say 'I won't recycle' because I have don't have a car', for example.

I think you mean the other way round. However perhaps I meant I don't waste resources in any other aspect of my life. Perhaps I just used the word 'frugal' as it fits and perhaps you are just being never so slightly anal about my choice of word when it was very clear what I was meaning.

Anyhow, I'm not here to justify washing my jeans - I choose to wash them.

I wash mine after 2-3 wears. Husband washed his every 2-3 weeks. Basically until my ds spills something on him 😂😂

I spill and have 6 kids, so usually after one or two wears (because they're dirty). Pre-kids is wash them every 6 washes or so, and that would probably be once a month because I didn't wear them that often.

I'll wear them until they are too dirty to wear. It could be six weeks or a couple of months. Before you go "Ew!", I only wear them to go outside the house, so a couple of months might only be a few wears for about 3 hours each time.
If they look grubby they get washed even if I've only worn them once or twice.

If I spill something on them then obviously they get washed. If not I only wash them when I suddenly think "Oh I haven't washed them for a while".

You are not meant to wash jeans too often. It makes them fade much quicker and not last as long.

I only wear jeans outside the house so will usually only wear for a couple of hours each time

"Lonicera said frugal, not resources."

Sorry, meant to write that Lonicera was talking about resources, not just money, which is what frugal usually refers to.

Fair enough. I wasn't aware frugal was just about money tbh.

If your shocked by those who wash their jeans after one wear you should read the bleach thread! Utterly depressing and awful and people take no responsibility for their environmental impact

I give the crotch a good sniff before deciding whether to hang them back up. If I’ve dropped food on them or done a sneeze-wee they go in the wash immediately. If not, they can last for ten wears at least.

Dh washes his jeans about twice a year on a cool rinse. He's a denim fanatic and good denim isn't really supposed to be washed that often. He spot cleans, leaves to air outside on the line if they smell a bit stale. I wash mine more often as the kids get mine dirty and I wear them more often.

But I wouldn't, that's just not who I am. Wash your jeans as little or as often as you want.

Why wash something that's not dirty?
I wash mine when they need washing, usually after about 5-10 wears.

Probably every couple of weeks if not visibly dirty or smelly

I used to work on a farm and my jeans were so dirty I used to prop them up against the wall at night and they'd stand up on their own!

No point in washing them as they'd get filthy in a few hours anyway.

Not often, I only wear them in winter as it's just too hot for jeans in summer. I wear them if the cat has got them dirty or if they don't seem to be fresh.

I probably wear them 3 or 4 times before they go in the wash, I have 3 pairs in roatation so never wear the same jeans on 2 consecutive days. Minor mess gets baby wiped off

Every 2-3 wears. Kids bound to have spilled food on me by that stage.

Have children... so depends how clean they are after going out.

Generally once per month.
