Hello to all. I'm off on hols today so this is just a short post. I've not read the threads for a few days so I'm not up to date with news. I hope all are fit and well. Have a good week, and I hope the sun shines for the half term hols wherever you are! See you next w/e.

Your trip to the museum sounds good Jas - a museum near here does lots of holiday activities too although I haven't looked into them yet for this week. that you look on MN every 15 mins - I'm not alone in that then
glitter enjoy the run I'm hoping to fit a cycle ride in between showers too but suspect I'll get rather wet
Dh is taking the kids to PIL today and leaving them there till tomorrow afternoon so I have the house to myself today and then dh to myself this eve and tomorrow
Have to get the house straight today while no-one is here to disturb me and need to do a weekly shop too.
May be back with a list to help motivate me later

glitterfairy · 27/05/2007 08:35

I've got up but just dont feel like it. I guess that is when going makes you feel so much better LOL.

Morning shouldbe and jas. Have a great day everyone. I may go and see pirates of the caribbean 3 today as well with the kids. I thought 2 was a real bore so am hoping this one is better.

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 08:54

Morning all

Well I have had a bloomin palava this morning!!
All kids sleeping soundly in their own beds (quite a rareity!!) Its about 6am and I'm woken by the cat....who is scatting round the place. (She sometimes does this if she finds a bit of scrumpled paper, and she hops about batting it round the place) I try to ignore her and lie there hoping she doesn't wake anyone up.
She scats about some more...making little "puuurrrrup" noises. Then she bumbles into my room and the nappy wrapper starts to crinkle...so I sit up because if she doesn't quit it the kids will get woken. As I look down wondering how the heck she has fitted in the wrapper, I realise its the blinkin hamster!!!!!!! The cat is completely puzzled by it!! She keeps trying to bat the hamster...who by now is in "Hamster Ninja Warrior Defense Mode". I leap out of bed, but the hamster is wired!!! It took me about 10 minutes of chasing it round various bedrooms (still trying not to wake the kids) but every time I tried to pick it up it attacked me!! I eventually scoop it up in a piece of clothing and put it back. I couldn't see for the life of me where it had escaped from....and went back to bed. 2 mins later...the cats is scatting about again! The hamster had done it again! The shelf the cage is on is at an adults head hieght!! So the hamster/lemming, free fell several feet and made off again. Anyway...caught it again and realised it had pushed one of the stoppers out. So put that back in and all was well again!

Lol!!! Anyway...now off to get dressed and check that Mr Houdini/Evil Canevil is safe in its cage!!!!!

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 09:00

Luda can't believe I'm here within a few minutes of you again!
Hope the hamster stays put! I had an escape artist hamster when I was a child, was quite a worry - esp with a cat about the place, lucky escape for your hamster this morning by the sounds of it.
I'm just making the beds and collecting dirty washing (really I am - I've not creapt back on MN, honestly!) Dh and the kids are off in about 30mins so I need to sort out some puzzles and games for them to take as the weather is set to be so wet.
See you later x

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 09:06

we are soooo in mn synch aren't we!

The hamster is safe and sound....bloomin thing!!!

Hope you have a nice relaxing day!!! And evening. It would be sooooo nice to be childless for a bit!! I am considering going into town but the weather is horrid.

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 09:10

How do you discipline yourself to doing housework when you have the house to yourself?? I would be lying on the sofa eating and watching tv .... or maybe having a bath....

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 09:18

.....or MNetting

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 09:35

{grin} I'm already busy MNetting and they haven't even gone yet! It's hard to discipine myself and what usually happens is that I leave the bulk of the housework till dh calls to say he's on his way home then frantically tidy up for the hour before he gets here
Today though I really must get on. The spare room needs to be seen by a friend this week who is coming to use the computer am I would be horrified for anyone to see it in it's current state so must make progress here. The rest of the house isn't too bad but all needs hoovering/mopping/dusting/tidying - none of which should take long, it's just not been done so well lately...and there's the weekly shop too so I ought to clean out the fridge...

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 09:38

ooooh I cleaned the fridge out yesterday...and did a shop. I really should go and do something too...I have just been here reading various threads. I think I'll light a fire as it has gone quite cold.

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 09:49

It's quite chilly isn't it? I'm digging out jumpers for the kids while putting away shorts etc they were wearing earlier in the week! I've written my shopping list so will prob go out soon and get the shopping done. First load of washing is in the machine, beds are made and upstairs is ready for a hoover.
See you in a little while

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 11:57

Jas · 27/05/2007 12:10

I think kitchen is always the first full week of the month. So that would be when I am away next week.

I had a free range hamster called Dave (We still have him but once he grew a bit he couldn't escape any more and is now a fat old hamster called Dave.)
Lol at ninja hamster.

Still haven't cleaned the fish tank Will not come back on mn til it is done.

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 13:19

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 15:10

Hello again

I have~
~been shopping
~cleaned fridge
~unpacked shopping
~watched a fox in the field outside our house
~started to clear spare room (looking better already, but lots more to do)
~tidied downstairs
~messed about on the computer
~hung up first load of washing

Off to dust and hoover now - back later

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 16:55

It's nearly two hours since I last posted and I'm getting a bit disheartened by my lack of progress
Have hoovered and dusted downstairs but upstairs has become a nightmare! Thanks to my partial clearing of the spare room there are now several piles of God-knows-what all over the landing
Really wanted to have made good progress before dh gets home...

glitterfairy · 27/05/2007 18:08

Havent done anything like I wanted to today as I got out and found my tyres had been let down. THink it was X last night when he brought dd home but cannot prove it. THey were fine half an hour before he arrived and they have definately been done on purpose.

Sorting it out took most of the rest of the day but at least the kids thought it was an adventure and I always seem to get the same tow truck driver from the AA who laughs when he sees me now.

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 18:29

GF well at least you got a nice AA man to come out

shouldbe hope you cleared the piles

Jas....have you done the fish tank yet??

Well I'm all done for today..the house is looking ok

See you all on the morrow

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 18:31

the piles...of god-knows-what that should be...

shouldbe · 27/05/2007 19:00

for you glitter
Luda you've had a busy day - well done The piles have been shoved back into the spare room - out of sight out of mind and all that Will look at them again before my friend visits in the week...(not sure if I'll be able to actually do anything about them though

The rest of the house is looking really good - I even bought some flowers for the kitchen table Feels sooo much better to have got on top of things a little again - I know it won't last be hey-ho, it feels nice today
See you all tomorrow I expect x

Aufish · 27/05/2007 19:26

Good evening all, haven't been on for a couple of days but have been busy with the house, its starting to look good again. Tomorrow it will be finished and I will be relaxing for the following 2 days. I have my dad coming over on Wednesday to spend my birthday with us and it will be the first birthday he has ever spent with me and he's dead excited. Hope everyone is ok and well.

Bye for now

Aufish

bewilderbeast · 27/05/2007 20:04

evening all, I feel like I'm totally losing touch with flying and all of you now I;ve gone back to work, I'm just not organised enough yet and it seems that their aren't enough hours in the day.

done
bed made
washing on
spent whole day revising for job interview
made chicken korma for ds for freezer

ludaloo · 27/05/2007 20:11

well done too shouldbe Aufish awww have a great birthday!!

Hi BB It all sounds hectic...but my hat goes off to you anyway. Hope all goes well on the work front.

glitterfairy · 27/05/2007 20:19

BB I am about to go back to working away from home and am dreading the thought of worrying about the house.

Jas · 27/05/2007 20:19

I've made small progress with the fish tank. It isn't sparkling, but I fear if I dredge up the water any more I will kill the fish. I'm leaving them overnight to recover, and will try again tomorrow.

My sink is shiny though. I've done it all properly and cleaned and decluttered all the surfaces. The floor needs doing now, but I'm going to stop for tonight (once I've tidied toys from the sitting room.

tortoise · 27/05/2007 20:51

Hi all.
I haven't done much at all today! Just relaxing and playing with DD's.
I did get the ironing finished and made sure kitchen was tidy and front room tidy before putting comp on tonight!

All the clothes need to be put away tomorrow.

Some really good lists done today. Well done.
