Brand New FLYbabies - Shine your sink.... NOW!

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 11:39

Right, so the new group of baby steppers begins.

Start with babysteps I am thinking we all need to have done up to babystep 7 by the end of the week. If you want to do more than one in a day, then feel free, but don't level up as it were (DH plays online games ) until we are all there!!!

If you are feeling all confident and enthusiastic, then do Kelly's Mission for the day too.

Mission for the day

Have fun! I've gotta work for a couple of hours, then I'll come back and update on my progress

Morning

Just back from aqua natal and my mum has DS for lunch. After I get my own lunch I shall get to it.

Already have one load of washing hanging out and a second about to finish!

Now going to read the babysteps.

Ceolas · 14/05/2007 13:46

OK, sink is shining.

Cleaned toilet. at how dusty it was down there! I blame DH's talc obsession (don't ask)

Just off to get DS and then girls from school. Will get a rubbish bag full from their room when we get back.

How's it going Flame?

Aloveheart · 14/05/2007 14:03

I'll join if i may have tried this before but i stopped, but think it maybe the only way to help as i'm sitting in chaos. I have done the weekly shopping.

So let me get this straight you're only allowed to shine your sink on day one are you allowed to do other things?? I'm probably being really stupid, lol.

I need help badly it's making me depressed.

themaskedposter · 14/05/2007 14:10

you know what ... I'm gonna go and shine my sink !

I feel inspired to do so (and the thing is incredibly in need of a shine)

(((psssst - I am a virgin FLY-er btw , wish me luck)))

Aloveheart · 14/05/2007 14:13

good luck

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 14:16

TMP - I hope it doesn't hurt too much

So far... sod all here. Only just got home from collecting DD & DS, havign lunch etc, and I still have work to get done

ALH - You're meant to ease in gradually, so all you have to do today is shine your sink, but you can do missions etc if you are enthused.

Emails come through - drink some water, and put a washload on!

Go go go now

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 14:18

Oh - also work out what is for dinner, and spend 15 mins decluttering bathroom and/or kids room if you feel inclined.

All of these things are purely optional today!

JodieG1 · 14/05/2007 14:18

I'm going to try and keep up with this. It's getting so hard to get cleaning done with my little velcro baby and although I love my sling I can't get down and clean properly with it on. I'll think of something to entertain him while I do a quick clean. Think I'll start on this tomorrow though as I can get fully dressed etc first thing and I'm in the middle of preparing dinner now, oh and baby needs feeding, again

JodieG1 · 14/05/2007 14:20

But I will shine my sink

Aloveheart · 14/05/2007 14:21

thanks flamesparrow

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 14:27

That's the good thing about it JG - it all builds up really gradually so you just slot a new bit into the routine each day and don't notice it happening.

OP posts:
JodieG1 · 14/05/2007 14:31

It certainly seems a good way to start I manage to keep thing relatively tidy and the kitchen and bathrooms clean but can't do proper cleaning as often as I'd like so it'll be great to have some reminders and others doing the same

sorkycake · 14/05/2007 14:34

psst flamesparrow!
could you go over to nappies please, I'm having a little prob.

Err...that's enough...er....get back to cleaning your sinks!!!

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 15:16

An hour and 6 phone calls, 12 work emails later...

Off to shine sink!

OP posts:
themaskedposter · 14/05/2007 15:23

thanks!

I shined my sink (and it doth sparkle now)

I ahve done a load of washing

I have made a mince pie for dinner

and I've drunk some water (although it did have coffee in it - does that count?)

(((am feeling proud of self and seeking appraisal...)))

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 15:47

Well done on all counts (the water one is dubious)

I am still working my way through the huuuuuuuuge pile of dishes

OP posts:
Aloveheart · 14/05/2007 15:54

I haven't done a thing and now feel quite guilty. I've just picked up kids from school. I will shine my sink and do the dishes not sure what else i'll get done i am feeling really low for some reason.

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 17:22

Sink shining is all that is needed.

Have lot of water - it does seem to lift my mood. I prefer to have it in a wine glass... feels more like my normal beverage

OP posts:
themaskedposter · 14/05/2007 17:39

indeed

sheepgomeep · 14/05/2007 18:44

hello flamesparrow!!
I'm going to start all over again but could pop baby anyday now.

House is chaotic, fridge looks like something has been murdered in it (Dp left unwrapped beetroot on top shelf, I knocked the open packaging without realising and it's gone everywhere, even splattered up the walls) not amused.

Right... gotta make a start gotta make a start {wonders off muttering}

Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 19:44

Do I sense nesting?

Dishes nearly all done - will shine properly when DH has finished the last few.

Exhausted!!

  1. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
  2. Take a few minutes for yourself
  3. Check your Calendar for Tomorrow's Events
  4. Spend 2 minutes clearing off your Hot Spots
  5. Shine your sink
  6. Wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth and floss
  7. Go to bed at a decent hour

Tomorrow is Tuesday; This is the Day I do something just for me. What do you have planned for you?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 14/05/2007 21:09

Sink shined

About to sort clothes, and nothing on calendar for tomorrow.

G'night ladies.

Fresh thread in the morning or carry on here?

OP posts:
Ceolas · 14/05/2007 21:15

Carry on her for now I think. Have just been to tap dancing. Quite a feat at 26 weeks pregnant! Had a bath and about to do clothes for tomorrow.

See you in the morning.

Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 07:36

Setp Two... there's so much we can do!

Sorry... be prepared for NKOTB lyrics for the rest of the week

and the mission for the day.

I do not do tie up shoes, or any shoes for that matter, and I still managed to FLY perfectly well last time.

If your sink is shiney and you are all sorted, then the mission for the day please (Or one part at least)

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 07:38

Oh.... whilst you're missioning in the bathroom - if you get the chance, give the sink and bath a quick clean.

You can then start keeping on top of it regularly when its time to swish and swipe (give it a wipe over).
