Today's Mission

Hi luda. Thanks for starting the thread. I very rarely look at the link but I did look at this one and it ties in with what I had in mind to do (in one room anyway - does this mean that I'll have to do the whole house?!) since I spotted some cobwebs yesterday.

I haven't read the w/e thread since whenever I last posted. I hope all are well. See you later one and all.

Ah Ha....didn't have time to google. Thankyou shouldbe. We didn't actually get anything bronze or lace....but I did get some towels for my birthday....nearly there!!!

Phew...hectic weekend almost over...DD1 has the last day of her flower dance today, not until this afternoon though, which might give me a chance to do some much needed FLYing!!!
(If I can get DH to hook the camera up, I'll put some photos on my profile later )

DH had a good day (I made him paint the downstairs loo! ...well actually he volunteered and I didn't deter him )

Kitchen Week YEY!!! I like kitchen week. I'm 5ft 4" too!!!!! (she can't use that as an excuse for not looking up!)

Right I am off to get some toast, then will be back with a list.

I don't think you need to do the whole house...just the kitchen.
Although, I usually scout for more whilst I have the duster out.

It is chucking it down, here, so not much chance of getting the gardening done that I had planned for today. I hope it's better your way for dds flower dance luda.

I like kitchen week, too. I may expand the mission into other rooms, as lots of my light fittings are cobwebby.

We have rain too , luckily DD is indoors, so it is ok It is a nice big arena, with a stage in the middle, all very posh for our little village!!!

I did the hamster last week, but the fish can only just see out of their tank! and the plant has grown right across the tank towards the window (needs a less sunny spot to be located really but there just isn't one!)

Duck race
Cycle ride
Village fair - we have a scarecrow fair on and all the village is decorated with scarecrows so will walk round and look at them all!

I think that is enough for a bank holiday weekend!

Morning all. Not sure how much I'll get done here as DH is at work and I have both kiddies all day. DD2 was up 4 x in the night today just afterwe thought we'd cracked it the other day and she slept through!

Not dressed yet but we are all breakfasted. Need to empty & reload d/w, put a load in the w/m on and will then start working through my kitchen list.

OOOOOHHH GF The scarecrow village thing sounds fab!!!!!!!is that a tradition? and what is a Duck race? (unless of course it is exactly what it says )

Morning glasss Oh poor you, waking up so often really takes it out of you doesn't it. Between my 3 over the last week or so, with illnesses I have been up and down like a yoyo too. Not good!

Phew luda, I'm glad it's just the kitchen. Can you tell that I've hardly ever looked at the actual FLY site? Thanks, yes, ds got on fine. They came third, I think. Those that came first and second will soon be too old to compete, so they're aiming for first in the future!

glassslipper Sorry to hear that you had such a poor night. I used to have them all the time with ds (slept through the night once by the age of 11 mths) so I know how tiring it is. He is an excellent sleeper now, though!

I'm not going to do a list. Dd is asking to go swimming. We might do that. We're going to follow our noses, I think. See you later!

P.S. My visitor (fellow MNer and full FLYer) cleared my ironing pile completely! I'm going to try to empty the basket weekly.

luda I think all the plastic ducks are numbered and have been bought (raffle ticket type thing) and the first ones past the post are the winners. Should be fun and there'll be more water in the river after the rain we've had and are having atm.

It's raining here There is supposed to be a village fete on today but I'm not sure it'll be possible in this rain...
Dh needs to go to the rubbish tip this morning to put various bits form the garage in the recycling boxes and I need to do a supermarket shop then we're thinking we might go swimming this afternoon that or we all snuggle up on the sofa and watch a film...we'll see how we feel after lunch.

No FLYing though (well, other than laundry and dw etc) - need to make an effort to have family time

Hello again everyone. Simply is right about the duck race and the ducks are all numbered as well. Ours is at 3pm. The scarecrow festival is traditional and there are scarecrows all over the village including a whole class outside the school, one house has a cricket team playing cricket in their garden as well and we have a katherine tate one too.

After my initial burst of energy I am now vegging out a little and need a good kick but feel it is like my day off as well.

I'm enjoying reading about what I'm guessing is counrty life. We have a duck race at some point, but I've never got involved. No scarecrows or fair or dancing here though.

Dc have played out in the rain for a bit, and now I'm off to watch the dds do a show.

Am pretty lucky the house has stayed clean and tidy since Saturday, so am only having to do bits and pieces to keep on top of it. Just now have to make the effort and stop the kids from wrecking all of my hard work! Hope you are all having a nice Bank holiday.

Thanks Sparkly I am watching the Coast day on UKTV History. It's fasinating and I've asked for it for my birthday

Luda, the flower dance reminds me of the flora dance that happens in Helston on every May the 8th. I used to dance it every year and it was lovely. Tonight they will be decorating the town with bluebells and tomorrow it will 4 dances throughout the day. I used to dance in the childrens dance at 10am where we would all wear white and depending on what school you went to the girls would wear flowers in their hair. For my two schools I wore cornflower for primary and forget me not for secondary. I loved doing it.
