Have you never tried baby oil on stainless steel stuff? Works great for us.

Whoooosh · 04/05/2007 21:33

Agree with Can@tSleep-baby oil is the biz on stainless steel.

NotanOtter · 04/05/2007 21:35

my fridge just looks like new!!

you don't need anything on stainless steel. you need water and these they are incredible. also brilliant for glass and marble

TheArmadillo · 04/05/2007 21:38

Morrisons do a cheaper own brand version of the e-cloth that seems to be as good.

NotanOtter · 04/05/2007 21:39

will try!

still raving about my product from ruined to rejuvenated

LadyTophamHatt · 04/05/2007 21:47

what am i doing wrong with baby oil on stainless steel then??

whenever I do it, it menas no-one can touch it again EVER because it leaves their fingerprints.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2007 21:52

You're either using too much, or not rubbing it off again thoroughly enough LTH.

LadyTophamHatt · 04/05/2007 21:59

blimey, how long do you have to rub it for??

I treid for ages and still got fingermarks, didn't use loads wither.

NotanOtter · 04/05/2007 22:00

you need 'swift'
it involves NO hard work...all this BLACK stuff wipes off

OP posts:
SueW · 04/05/2007 22:00

LTH I have the same problem. Gave up on it years ago.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2007 22:01

I don't know LTH - dh does it here, but that's what he told me when I asked him what you were doing wrong!

themoon66 · 04/05/2007 22:09

I just need to find something that removes scratching.... my poor oven was less than a week old when DH assaulted it with one of them green pan scrubs. Looks like a farking used skating rink now

ValnBen · 04/05/2007 22:11

If you have access to Costco, I found Kirkland household surface wipes (Lime smell the best) excellent for all sorts of surfaces ? including a black high-gloss American F/F and plastic ?granite? worktops?..sadly don?t live within 100 miles of Costco now, but Windolene 3 action system wipes seem to work just as well.

Now if we?re talking carpet stains ? forget pink, go for OzClean Carpet Power!!! Now THAT really does work.
(only tried on cream carpets??..warned)

And their Lime Scale remover works brill too.....even on real brass taps...(1920's house with some orig/or orig looking features!!)

LadyTophamHatt · 04/05/2007 22:16

Cantsleep, its probably just these pesky kids of mine.
I need to tie their hands to their sides I think......

Pannacotta · 05/05/2007 09:39

Notanotter, what was the prob with the fridge?
Our s steel cooker has somewhite marks/stains on the front which look like residue and I think are from sth our cleaner used on it. Does this sound like the prob you had with your fridge?

NadineBaggott · 05/05/2007 09:53

I use the Asda version of these 61p

they are superb on stainless steel AND granite worktops [smug]

NotanOtter · 05/05/2007 10:03

YES Panacotta! what happened was - I was cleaning the highchair with some full -on spray from mr Muscle and accidently sprayed the freezer. That was over a year ago and we have since tried EVERYTHING to get the marks off but nothing has made it any better ....

UNTIL.....

The 'swifts'is just a cleaner containing citric acid and tbh THAT was what satined the freezer but in retrospect i think it was 'cleaning' and it looked like stains IYSWIM ???

Try it - Panacotta - I feel like I have a new freezer

NadineBaggott · 05/05/2007 10:36

NotanOtter · 05/05/2007 10:38

YES!!! lol Nadine!!!
I paid £1.99 ( it was in a sale) - i think there are probably lots of versions of the same.

I am seriously going back to the shop this morning to buy up the stock!!!

NadineBaggott · 05/05/2007 10:57

I remember years ago going into my local Post Office/store to get child benefit and saw some cheap hair conditioner on the shelves, I think it was 50p! ANyway I bought a bottle and it was superb, I had stocks of the stuff after that but then they stopped getting it and then I moved away anyway!

NadineBaggott · 05/05/2007 10:58

Otter - you need to write a review on Amazon

NotanOtter · 05/05/2007 10:59

good thinking nadine!!
