Hi GO.

I better get ready to pick ds's up. DS2 is off to a friends for tea. xp1 picking them up at 5 so just me and dds tonight.

Aufish · 04/05/2007 14:24

That's the one! You should have seen him yesterday with 4 paving slabs, it had to be stable and level and secure, even had a litle spirit level as well as his big one! I left him to it.

SimplySparkling · 04/05/2007 14:29

As uneven paving slabs are a well known trip hazard, I think he ought to be congratulated for pride in his work.

On a serious note, ours are nice and level thanks to dh. A friend had a really uneven path around the house and I'd have hated that, especially with the children being so small.

grouchyoscar · 04/05/2007 14:41

Hi Simplysparkling yep, all at Grouchy Towers are hail and hearty thanks How's you and yours?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUDA have a great day and I wish everything you wish for yourself

SimplySparkling · 04/05/2007 14:45

Ooh, grouchyoscar I need to be told off! I keep coming on here for a peek and a chat instead of getting on with the spare bedroom. So glad to hear that you're all well. We're fine, thanks. Now, if you wouldn't mind giving me a ticking off and a warning that you'll confiscate my PC (both of them, plus the laptop) if you catch me on here again before that room is finished?

Aufish · 04/05/2007 14:53

Its not just the slabs that he is like it with. Its everything! I've just thought of something that I could get him for his birthday. A toolbelt! He kind of reminds me of Tim Allen in Home Improvement, bless him I shouldn't complain though at least he does D.I.Y.

glassslipper · 04/05/2007 15:42

I did this mission the other day Still havent done yesterdays but I plan to spend some time in the front garden tomorrow so will hopefully do it again.

Sink still shiny....

SS - good encouragement on the other thread. I am also telling them to join this one when they have finished their babysteps

SimplySparkling · 04/05/2007 15:45

I've just finished my cuppa and the machine has just finished so I'll peg that out and finish the bedroom.

glassslipper It would be lovely if they do join. They might want to keep in their own group, though. We'll see.

EHM I was just thinking of you and wondering how you are. Maybe you're on holiday or not well? Does anyone happen to know?

yaddayah · 04/05/2007 15:47

Good news about the fence !

aufish'es diy'ing dh .. mine does it, but honestly the swearing and general grumpiness everything he does turns out to be difficult.. wrong tools/previous bodge job by someone .. who fgs.. we bought the house brand new !

Now gardening .. he's my precious little Monty Don .. he still fusses about the sunflowers though (mine and dc's sole responsibility).. i can see him shaking his head and just itching to move the stakes i put in

Just realised i haven't made the beds today

[slattern emoticon]

Off to ponder dinner (not make the beds)

Jelley · 04/05/2007 15:49

EHM posted on yesterdays thread. She is busy but ok...

Hello Grouchy Good to hear all is well with you.

I still haven't put my pile(s) of laundry away - the sun is out here now so it's far more tempting to sit out in the garden with a cuppa and watch the kids play
Both kids are going with dh to PILs tomorrow and it looks as though dh might leave them there over-night on their first sleep over I'll miss them like crazy but it'd be a very good thing if they are able to stay away once in a while.

Better get on with something before tea/bath/bedtime, even if it is just sitting in the garden with the last slice of birthday cake

Aufish · 04/05/2007 17:50

Afternoon all, just finished cleaning the patio, what a boring job! Tea is on and the kids are all starving. Need to get the other half up in a minute so then he gets to work on time. Oh I'm so looking forward to tomorrow and my lie in, I seriously need it. Done alot of work this week and I need the rest.

shouldbe · 04/05/2007 19:20

Well, I'm off to make supper. Kids are in bed and it looks as though they will go and stay at PIL tomorrow night so I'll need to pack some clothes in a bit too.
I have to work tomorrow so may not get back here in the morning - hope everyone has a good evening and Saturday

tortoise · 04/05/2007 21:38

I have done all the ironing . Will need to put it all away tomorrow. Also still need to wash kitchen floor. Was going to do it tonight but had a small gall stones pain attack.
Think i am ok now. My own fault for eating crap!
