Morning all Shouldbe I'll have a slice if you're making lemon drizzle..
Tort Hope DD is okay at shaved legs, mine have only been done about twice since DS was born!

to everyone else

I think I have caught DS conjunctivitis so I am wearing my old glasses instead of contacts and look absolutely horrific - how did I wander round like this for 2 years?!

Done so far
One load of laundry
Beds
Tidy bedroom
Tidy bathroom

Still to do
Tidy sitting room
Tidy kitchen
Load dishwasher
Shine sink (have been slipping lately)
Buy calpol, vegetables, yeast and cotton wool
Vacuum downstairs

(None of this will be easy as I worked really hard at ballet last night and even going up the stairs is a killer

nut

Back from Drs. Just seems to be a bug. She couldn't find anything specific wrong with her. Urine fine(had to catch a sample!). Needs to drink more and eat if hungry so she has just had a plain biscuit. Got to go back tomorrow if still worried.

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 12:22

Morning

You all look so busy!! I did a brief scout round before the health visitor came, apart from that...not a lot else!!

DS is still poorly too tort Had a high temp in the night, was sick in the papershop , he is lying on the sofa again watching Pokoyo.

DD2 seems completely fine. She refused to build the tower of bricks for the health visitor though...and refused to give her some counters back too!

Right...have to nip over the shop as we are out of bread and washing powder.

See you all in a bit

tortoise · 02/05/2007 12:25

Poor ds Luda. I hope he feels better soon.

shouldbe · 02/05/2007 12:36

Glad dd is ok tort (well, nothing serious anyway)
Sorry your ds is still poorly Luda

My dd has a nasty runny nose but it hasn't come to anything else (yet, touch wood!) so she's at school as usual.
I'm just about done with my list
~make beds done
~quick tidy in bedrooms done
~wm x2 2nd load in
~empty/reload/run dw done
~find homes for dds pressies done some
~s&s kitchen done
~water garden
~quick clear-up of toys downstairs done (couldn't resist setting up a little playmobil scene for dd though )
~sort and put away non-ironing items done some
~make a cake...I'm thinking lemon drizzle... run out of time
~hoover through-out done
~clean bath done

Not bad - off to collect ds now and run into town to the bank and to do a small supermarket shop (we're trying to eat up stuff from the freezer really)
See you later x

Londonmamma · 02/05/2007 12:45

Hello everyone. Love to Tort and Luda with their sick DC. NUT - I sympathise.
I'm completely blind without glasses/contacts. Need glasses to find my glasses!

Have done some household shopping this morning and (whispers a bit ashamedly), I've started employing a cleaner to come in and blitz once a fortnight. She's been this morning and it's all fresh and sparkling .

You can all throw stones at me now for being a cheat on Fly!!!

Off to do school pick-up then back with a list for the afternoon.

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 12:57

Hi all
Well just dropped dd at nursery so i have 2 hours to sort some stuff out

today i have got rid of all my maternity clothes and newborn stuff (dd has just turned 3 and it was all in the loft) (afriend knows a hv who passes the stuff on so it will all be used) but I feel a bit weird, i don't want any more children (2 is fine)i'm not broody.. but it affected me more than i realised

Anyhoo thats enough navel gazing .. bluster bluster

I've got housework to do

(just got some "scrubby" cleaning clothes from Sainsbos and i'm strangely excited)

SimplySparkling · 02/05/2007 12:57

Sorry to hear about the ill los. I do hope they get better soon.

I've done more ironing. I'm going to do some putting away before having lunch.

Lm If you're a cheat then so am I as the lady who cleans for me came this morning. She is finishing at the end of this month, though. I'm finding it a bit too expensive.

shouldbe We have "eat our way through the freezer" times, too!

luda Your dd2 is lovely. I'm not surprised to hear that she wouldn't do what the hv wanted unless the request was phrased in such a way to make her think that she really wanted to do it, though! She is a card. I remember dd getting very cross with ds because he bought something pink or purple in a school jumble sale and to her toddler mind, only girls owned things that colour. The headmaster saw her and said "I like a bit of spark in a child" and I thought "Wait until that child is sent to your office regularly by the teacher for being naughty" but she never was! She is still a character, though.

Off to do more. See you later.

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 12:58

@ london 's cleaner !

tortoise · 02/05/2007 13:03

@ cleaners too!

DD1 has been ok so far with eating biscuit.
Just phoned sw to cancel their contact wih xp2 tomorrow. I don't think she will be up to it. Drives me mad with how scatty sw is!! Suppose to be a meeting tomorrow but she had fogotten until i asked her and she can't make it so has to cancel! What would of happenned tomorrow if i hadn't mentioned it to her.

Londonmamma · 02/05/2007 13:46

Yaddayah - don't be surprised if you get periods of broodiness even if your head says 'two is enough' - your body has a mind of its own. I'm nearly 42, I've been sterilised (hate that word) and I still get broody!!

OK - next jobs

  • clear out leftovers from fridge
  • hang laundry
  • pick up dry cleaning & finish leafleting
  • prepare swimming things
  • answer emails
  • phone call
NineUnlikelyTales · 02/05/2007 14:12

To everyone without a cleaner - my home is cleaner now we don't have a cleaner (er, does that make sense?!). I had to have one every week when DS was born as I couldn't cope with any housework myself, but TBH I was quite relieved when she went as I am a wimp and couldn't bring myself to tell her that, whilst a lovely person, she was a rubbish cleaner The only thing she did well was vacuuming the stairs So chin up folks!

Mhamai · 02/05/2007 14:36

Hi everyone, thanks for your lovely kind wishes yesterday, not much flying today as I'm still rather poorly but will have to drag myself out to get some shopping in, please God this infection is cleared by the weekend as I'm going to Paris with my dd 20 on Sat!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhoo happy flying

glassslipper · 02/05/2007 14:59

hi everyone. nothing else done, as promised but i have been to the Drs with DD2 for her last injections. She was very good and DD1 held her hand too. Now we all need a rest.

lucyellensmum · 02/05/2007 15:26

i dont get it i dont get it i dont get it, what is all this flying you girls are doing, i looked on the mission link, im quite scared now, its like stepford wives, isn't it??

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 16:49

Stepford wife ?

Beep beep

SimplySparkling · 02/05/2007 16:58

Hello to all.
NineUnlikelyTales I can well believe it. I'm aiming to do it myself with the promise of spending what is currently the cleaning money on an item of clothing or two for myself every month! Having said that; a neighbour (who used to have my cleaner working for her) uses a cleaning company now and once mine finishes, I'm going to get the details so that I can try them out and use them occasionally i.e. when dh has been away a lot and I've got visitors coming or something.

Right. Have done lots of ironing today and some putting away. I've also walked the dog. Not done much else bar a few tel calls and e-mails. Must finish the washing up and take ds to after school thing. Then tea and maybe read the papers for tomorrow's meeting. Oops. Not maybe. Definitely!

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 17:20

Thank you all for your well wishes for poorly DS. H ehas flaked back out on the sofa again. No sick today, just a high temp. still.
Simply Thankyou...you are very kind DD2 definately is a card! She is getting very willful!

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 18:41

What is Stepford Wife's might I ask??

(have to know what they are before I decide I am like one or not)

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 18:45

Ok...googled it....

"eager-to-please, overly-submissive, and impossibly beautiful wives"

Well.....I agree with the last bit

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 18:52

ludaloo .. they also take drugs on the sound of a "beep" hence my beep beep reference

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 18:53

Though .. backtracking gracefully the only drugs to have passed my rosebud lips are beechums powders

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 18:56

....I may well have to ask DH if he secretley killed me and turned me into a drone over night too.....

Kerching (that's the noise of my perfectly polished, perfectly straight teeth reflecting a perfect beam of light, from my perfect homely window, as I grin BTW)

ludaloo · 02/05/2007 18:59

yadda

yaddayah · 02/05/2007 19:01

just hoovered upstairs ..
children are pristine

(ds has lost his pants and dd appears to have bathed in mud)

I'm sure theres a surrendered wife program on this week (channel 5 )

Will be looking for handy hints and jotting them in my control journal

Smoothes down pinny and looks in vain for {ironic emoticon]
