What are your 'nice to haves' for a better home life?

Hypothetically speaking, if you had around £200 to spend on something to make your home life more comfortable/better, but you already have the basic essentials of a comfortable home such as white goods, sofas etc what would you buy?

Luxurious throws and expensive candles

LaurieFairyCake · 16/11/2017 11:13

An eco heated blanket for the bed 0.01p per hour to run - cost about £30 to buy

A heated throw for the living room - about £70

Nice hand towels for the bathrooms - you use them all the time so crappy ones are depressing

Lindy2 · 16/11/2017 11:18

Things that make my life easier - in car dvd player for the kids, a slow cooker and a comfy pair of waterproof boots.
Things that make me happy - a nice bouquet of flowers, a nice smelly candle and some luxury food items.

TheBitterBoy · 16/11/2017 11:19

I bought my Roomba, and now my floors are always clean. Makes life easier and me very happy!

RandomUsernameHere · 16/11/2017 11:28

Magimix, it's great

Finola1step · 16/11/2017 11:29

Roomba.

Ruhrpott · 16/11/2017 11:30

Instant pot

LittleWingSoul · 16/11/2017 18:22

Ooh I think I'd have to go for a roomba too!

Or a heated clothes airer

Or a very posh coffee machine

Or a sound bar for the telly

ButteredScone · 16/11/2017 18:25

Electric blanket for bed
Mini hand held Dyson
Carpet/rug
Cushions for the sofa

If it was me I would think about getting a sheepskin rug for beside the bed. £40 from Ikea and they make getting up in the winter a bit less grim.

CoalitionOfChaos · 16/11/2017 18:27

They do heated throws. How did I not know this?
What does a sound bar do? Something to do with sound I’m guessing?

goingbonkers123 · 16/11/2017 18:28

Hmmm my cleaner and a dryer

princesspeach21 · 16/11/2017 18:30

An electric blanket, some nice bedding and maybe something special for the kitchen like a waffle iron or a fancy toast or maker.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 16/11/2017 18:30

I just do not get the candles thing at all. Hate fake smells.

Sludgecolours · 16/11/2017 18:32

A painting

Crumbs1 · 16/11/2017 18:36

I’m wanting a lightweight cordless hoover but can’t bring myself to buy one as Henry and Henrietta seem to be lasting forever.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/11/2017 18:41

A beautiful patchwork quilt.

WellTidy · 16/11/2017 18:55

Fabulously thick towels, bath and hand plus lovely hand wash, hand cream, room spray and reed diffuser in matching scent. All for the bathroom. I think that would give a feeling of luxury. Reed diffusers in all rooms, if budget allows. Flowers, again, if budget allows. Actually, I would put flowers above the reed diffusers. I think having lovely scents throughout the home is really uplifting.

LittleWingSoul · 16/11/2017 19:13

Coalition you are spot on there Grin It's a slim, discreet speaker with sound quality as good as the huge ones we have that are mounted on their own special very ugly podiums. Good for banging out the drum n bass, but that happens very rarely these days!

CoalitionOfChaos · 16/11/2017 19:25

Ah thanks little. We don’t have any extra speakers for the tv just how they come. Do they make a big difference.

CoalitionOfChaos · 16/11/2017 19:26

I’m googling sound bars

Kintan · 16/11/2017 19:35

I’d go for new bedding (and new pjs and slippers) ready to hibernate for the winter :) And maybe some fluffy towels if there was any cash leftover.

caffelatte100 · 16/11/2017 19:51

sonos speakers

KatherinaMinola · 16/11/2017 19:56

Nice towels
Nice bedding
Upgrade duvet and pillows
New cushions

AnnaNimmity · 16/11/2017 20:02

A cleaner (several times a week)
High thread count white bed linen and goose duvets
Nice coffee and (currently) an aeropress (would like a proper coffee maker)

But mostly a cleaner

TinklyLittleLaugh · 16/11/2017 20:05

We have our TV wired Ito our HiFi speakers. A little Bluetooth speaker is great for the garden/shed/garage/camping though; I often steal DS's while he is at work.

I do appreciate our nice towels and bedding every time I use them. Also quality tools like really good knives and kitchen utensils and garden tools.
