Lol EHM
Downstairs is s l o w l y improving and we've cycled to the library and back
Just going to run a cloth over the last few surfaces downstairs and then have a quick whizz round upstairs while supper (pizza and garlic bread) is cooking. Have to tackle the spare room this eve/tomorrow eve cos MIL wants to use our computer (it's been on my list for ages...well, I've given up even putting it on cos I know it won't get done!)
MIL has always managed to keep a clean house, even when dh and SIL were little (but that's because she had extended family just across the road to take the lo's out every day!) as does my SIL ("and she works full time" ...and has no kids going round undoing any efforts she makes!...)............... [just can't win emotion]

EHM · 13/04/2007 16:21

shouldbedon't worry, it wil be fine. Just make sure you don't have a musty shoe cupboard You work & you luck after your 2 lo's & dh. So don't be hard on yourself. Does your MIL not know that there are better things then housework, MN of course

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 16:41

have done nothing since my last post but sit at the computer and look at lovely new clothes that I can't afford! Nice bit of window shopping
MUST get on now though - it's suddenly got late!!

NineUnlikelyTales · 13/04/2007 16:51

Hi everyone

Just wanted to say HELLO to you all and sorry for not being around this week - we went to Lincoln for 5 days and I was so busy packing, etc that I didn't have time to tell you.

We had a lovely time and stayed in a very posh house (too many stairs though!). We had some help with the childcare too as we were with my in-laws.

Haven't had time to read the thread yet but hope you are all well and have ben flying this week!

nut

EHM · 13/04/2007 17:09

Hi 9nut glad you had a nice time. Always lovely to stay in a posh hotel.

Jelley · 13/04/2007 17:14

Hi 9nut glad you got a nice break.

shouldbe I like all the tips. I hope you get the house as good as you want it, but EHM isprobably right...if your mil is the critical type, she will always find something to moan about. Don't let it get you down... My mum (not an Anthea type) gave me a duster when I left home which said "Dull women have immaculate houses". I had it pinned to the wall for years!

I'm atm because my new next door neighbours have put up a huge almost 6 foot fence the length of our garden. At 5pm I only had an18" strip of grass not in the shade today

EHM · 13/04/2007 17:34

jelley sorry to hear about the fence. I too would be very angry, very inconsiderate of your neighbour. Do you talk to them?

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 18:03

Thanks Jelley, I know I shouldn't let MIL get me down but sadly it does. Downstairs is fairly straight (it'll do anyway) and upstairs can be done tomorrow once I'm home from work.
Very on your behalf over your neighbours - how inconsiderate! Hope you're able to talk to them about it (easy to say - we have trouble with our neighbours [not the cat-hater, the other side] and I'm too chicken to complain....)

SimplySparkling · 13/04/2007 18:38

Only a short post as I have to do the veg for tea shortly.

Grouchyoscar I hope it has not been bad news for you today.

shouldbe Yes, thanks. I need to catch up on the home stuff now but I'm not worrying too much about it. I'll do what I can when I can. You're doing well, too.

Jelley Sorry to hear about your neighbours. It is a shame they are so inconsiderate. There were big fence panels (in our garden) between us and next door when we moved here and we changed them for trellis panels then removed those so that both they and we had a more open plan view. They've since spoilt it in a way I don't want to go into, but I hope sense will prevail shortly. It is difficult and I sympathise.

Hello to everyone else. I must do the veg now so sorry it is a bit rushed.

tortoise · 13/04/2007 18:57

Hi all.
Morning went ok.DS's arrived and then we walked to shops. Had lunch once we got home then i had a sudden severe wind type pain attack again. It lasted a whole hour. Feel so bad for ds's seeing me like that. DS1 was holding me around the shoulder saying shhh shhh. Bless him. I don't feel too bad now. Still a bit of pain and won't be eating tonight!

Not got any flying done! Have found cm for Wednesday next week though. Final (hopefully) court hearing!

Kids are fed and dd's will be going to bed soon.

Welcome Newbies. Great start, well done.
Everyone seems to of had a good fly day.

shouldbe Try not to let things get to you. You have done really well today.

Londonmamma · 13/04/2007 20:16

Luda - the children have gone to Northumberland with DH and I'm joining them on Monday. There are big changes happening in our lives and I need to get the house decluttered in case we move over the summer.

I've got 13 rooms/areas to sort out. Have had a nap, spent ages on MN and will now get started !

EHM · 13/04/2007 20:33

tort sorry you are in pain again. Are you due to go back to the dr's? Your lo's sound so cute, bless them.
londonmama do you live in a mansion, 13 rooms Good luck getting things sorted.

tortoise · 13/04/2007 20:48

EHM No pain at the moment. Am waiting for hospital appointment for scan.

Jelley · 13/04/2007 21:03

Thanks guys. I've only met her a couple of times, as she moved in a few months ago but never seems to be there, so communication is limited. I will mention it next time I see her but it could be weeks.

I'm going to buy some (shade loving) climbers to try and cover it a bit, and have started reducing the small flower border a bit to extend the grass into the sunnier bit. I look out on it from the kitchen sink so I really want a pleasant view, if I can't get it reduced.

OP posts:
Jelley · 13/04/2007 21:04

Any idea how long you will have to wait for a scan tortoise?

OP posts:
tortoise · 13/04/2007 21:14

No no idea jelley.

DS2 has been entertaining shouldbe on webcam

Londonmamma · 13/04/2007 21:55

No EHM nothing like 13 rooms! I was talking about cluttered hallways/overflowing cupboards as well as rooms. Jelley that sounds horrible . Could you put a note through her door inviting her for a cuppa and say there's something you need to talk to her about?

EHM · 13/04/2007 22:05

tort hope you get a date for a scan soon
londonmama was very when you said 13 rooms/areas. Not of the decluttering, but of the space you would have once decluttered. [looks into space & dreams of 13 rooms]

tortoise · 13/04/2007 22:15

Thanks EHM. Not eaten tonight. Am hungry but to scared to eat because of the pain i had.

I thought it was 13 rooms too!

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 22:20
