Hi everybody not long up but have already done this:

Unloaded W/M and is tumble dryer
Put load out on the washing line
Loaded the washing machine
Got the bin in from outside

To do:

About another 6 loads of washing
Sweep the floors
Hoover
Washing up and drying up
Shower kids
Strip kids beds and wash them

Just having a cuppa and then on with the jobs.

Londonmamma · 13/04/2007 11:12

That really worked, telling myself I couldn't come back on till I'd done those things! Packing is my WORST job, hate it hate it - now it's done.
DH is taking the kids to his parents in Northumberland. I'm not joining them till Monday (I'm so lucky!!!!!)

grouchyoscar · 13/04/2007 11:14

Morning ALL and Hello newbies

EHM how's little Ellie? Hope she's feeling so much better

Been out and about with DS the past couple of days. Don't worry, I've also been Flying aplenty too. I stopped for 48 hrs but did DH pick up where I left off? Did he monkies! Well I'm pretty adept at it now so it only took 90 mins to get the place up to scratch again.

This place would go to hell in a handcart if I wasn't here. Oh and DH finds out if the company he works for will fold today. He's owed 6 wks wages and guess who's been keeping us solvent...Oh that will be me then

Hell in handcart I tell you.

How's everyone anyway? Cheer me up (please....beg beg)

Happy Friday 13th all xx

EHM · 13/04/2007 11:29

Londonmamma · 13/04/2007 11:59

Right: let's hope it wasn't beginners luck!
I'm now going to: 1)clean kids' shoes, lay out coats
2) I forgot to pack toothbrushes!
3) Find mobile phone charger
4) Am having an interview for voluntary work this afternoon - need to find my certificates etc
5) Make hair appointment
Will be back on this evening.

Have a good day everyone!

glitterfairy · 13/04/2007 12:32

Blimey there has been some hard work here today. london you are doing really well. Grouchy sending positive vibes to you and hub.

Have now made some soup for lunch and read a book the first of the shopaholic series whihc made me cry with laughter. Two of the kids have gone to see their dad for a couple of hours and my eldest, who no longer sees or speaks to her dad is shopping with her grandad! So am enjoying an hour of alone time before my work partner gets here and I have to pretend to work!

Aufish · 13/04/2007 13:20

Well, everything is done and have even done the bathrooms. Only thing that is waiting is another 3 loads of washing which will be done eventually! Will be done by the end of the day though!

Hi EHM glad that Ellie is getting better, there is nothing worse than a poorly one. I always feel so helpless when my lot are ill.

Am having a well earned rest at the moment and will be getting on with some ironing in awhile.

Will be back later.

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 13:50

Only just back from delievering letters, so now my list looks like~

~sort 4 loads of clean washing done
~put away clean washing done
~wm x 2 running 1 load done
~empty and re-load dw done
~make dh's lunch done
~s&s cloakroom done
That was all before 8am
Since then things have gone downhill ~
~hoover and dust downstairs
~s&s kitchen
~go to shop for milk done and sunflower seeds forgot and go to library forgot
~take cat to vet to check his paw isn't infected done, he's fine

GO hope all OK with dh and his job.

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 13:59

Hi All

Dd2 is asleep and the other two are outside so I thought I'd have a breather and catch up a bit with you lot

shouldbe Are you ok hun?? Don't stress about all the things that need doing, just take your time...the world will still keep spinning, even if your jobs have to be delayed {{{HUGS}}}

EHM and Grouchy you both make me smile...I don't know the song I'm afraid, but I'll sing along anyhoo oh and Grouchy good luck vibes comming your way (be calm...you'll be rewarded one day...I keep telling myself that anyway!! )

Londonmama you are doing great . Are you off anywhere nice??

Well house is looking ok, just needs a hoover now but will wait for DD2 to finish snoozing.

No more washing to do TYPICAL!! Spent at least 20 minutes getting my rag off with the rotary line as I needed more room to hang washing out (just had a single line across the garden), I had put it away for the winter in the shed! It was right at the back...covered in coal dust...and the hole in the lawn had disappeard. So I had to wrestle it out, wipe it down, bash it in to the lawn with a large hammer....and now I have no more washing left!!!

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 14:01

Ahhh shouldbe you are doing great Shame you have to do the library trip again though...can it not wait? I am exactly the same...went to the shop this morning and forgot Coke and Milk!!

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 14:02

Thanks Luda, no, not OK really...can feel my mood slipping and panicing cos I've been doing so well
PIL are coming on Sunday and MIL is very judgemental at the state of the house so I have to get on top of things....

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 14:09

Awww shouldbe stay calm

Would it help to do a room rescue (if thats the right word for it) in each room? Maybe have a scout for obvious things to hide away for now until you can deal with it a bit better?? I always think a good hoover makes the world of difference too. At the end of the day though, you are only human, and if PIL have to witness a bit of perfectly normal "Mess" then they'll have to realise you have kids, and only so many hours in the day!!

I usually plonk the kids infront of a DVD...or put them in the garden...I have to say, I used a tip off Tip Of The Day on the homepage, the other day and it kept them quiet for hours!! Give them a paint brush each, and a bucket of water and get them to "paint" outside! Trust me...its a great way to keep them occupied!!
Then have a quick scout about. You are still doing well ...just a bit of an off day

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 14:14

Thanks again Luda
I'm going to have a quick blitz in the living room (house is open-plan-ish though so if one area looks a mess it is visable from the other areas). A quick hoover and a dust round will make a difference.
Then need to go to the library again and will see what I'm up to after that.
Can feel the threat of tears constantly...really don't want to get down again....
We have had a nice Easter break though and had lots of lazy days with the kids so I can't complain too much..it's just all slipped a bit too much over the past few days.

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 14:15

...did you notice my trying-to-stay-positive thoughts at the end there? I do try to keep my chin up...

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 14:19

You can cheat a lot too!! (I do every now and then )
Baby wipes...great short cut to dusting and wiping. I use them to wipe things round and get it looking less smudged. Then spray some furniture polish about...no one will be any the wiser !!!!

Air Freshen the curtains and sofa (or Febreeze it)...makes it smell like you have been at it all day!!

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 14:22

You do try to keep positive so good on you Its been a long two weeks, I can imagine everyone is a bit tired (they are here anyway) You are doing well....big {{{{HUGS}}}} for you xx

glitterfairy · 13/04/2007 14:22

I used to spray bleach around the kitchen and bathroom in the air and my X always went on about how fresh everything smelled adn how clean it was.

ludaloo · 13/04/2007 14:26

...ooooh good one!!

I tell you another thing, (Anthea suggested it) If you have any lemons...slice a lemon and put it in a saucepan of water, then slowly heat. it is a really lovely smell!! It is really fresh. I can imagine that it would be good for a hangover!! I used my "passed it" lemons the other day, and it makes the house smell nice.

shouldbe · 13/04/2007 14:34

Thanks you two
I'm off to get started now (really I am!) Never use bleach so that's no good sadly, but the lemons idea is a good one so will be saving a lemon for Sunday morning

Just hunting the internet for swimsuits and summer shoes for the kids - monsoon have some gorgeous sandals and swimsuits...maybe I'll ask SIL for them for dds birthday

EHM · 13/04/2007 15:00

shouldbe please don't stress about PIL[hugs]Mine told me when they where here that they could smell a musty smell coming from the cupboard in the livingroom. This holds shoes etc. Its not really important, especially when their grandaughter had chickenpox & both me & dh had run around trying to get house ready. Doesn't matter how much you do won;t be appreciated, so I am of the mind now, do very little when they come.

EHM · 13/04/2007 15:02

shouldbe is the lemon fir your mil to suck on?

glitterfairy · 13/04/2007 16:07

I really must read that book Luda. Am going to do some candles tonight in any case.
