Kelly's Mission

OP posts:
glassslipper · 10/04/2007 08:16

Morning all.

Yet another tiring night as DD1 was sick all over the bed again (still has bug) and DD2 was up 2 x and then up for the day at 5.3-

That said I'm feeling ok now so will give the kitchen a good tidy. Had a good declutter upstairs over the weekend so feel i've achieved something. Not sure i can face mopping the kitchen floor though so the mission will have to wait until later in the week.

DD1 seems ok now but we've read every book she has and I need to convince her she needs a rest as she keeps saying she wants to go out

hi

hardly ever make it to the fly boards these days!

Is everyone house a mess upon a mess due to the holidays? I can't walk in some of my rooms!

Me today:

  • WM
  • DW
  • Kitchen floor
  • Swish and swipe kitchen
  • Swish and swipe bathroom
  • PAck and post couple of books
  • General trying to get things back into at least the rooms they belong in
  • Throw out a bin bag of stuff
  • Make a bin bag of stuff for the charity shop

Hope you all have a good day - quite like the kitchen mission. First one to finish their list gets a cup of coffee and a doughnut!

DimpledThighs · 10/04/2007 08:20

glassslipper - your poor DD - hope she can get some rest (and you!) would aim low today if I was you, sounds like you did a good job at the weekend so take a breath.

glitterfairy · 10/04/2007 08:23

Morning dimpledthighs and glassslipper. Can hoover but not mop in my kitchen so will do just that.

Am going to be working today but will also do a thorough tidy and sort.

For now am making a cup of tea and catching up with the internet!

shouldbe · 10/04/2007 08:32

Good morning glassslipper, Dimpled and everyone

Hope your dd gets over this latest sickness soon Glassslipper - poor you you seem to have had a run of it lately...hope you get some rest today
Good to see you Dimpled My house was left really nice and tidy before we went away at the weekend - we've been home one day and the place is a tip again how do the lo's manage to make such a mess (and how on earth am I expected to keep up with it??!)

My list for today
~washing (never even opened the suitcase yesterday so have 4 piles of laundry along my landing to get through today)
~make beds
~dw unload and re-run(it's getting worse - takes 3 hours to run a cycle now and even then it's not always clean )
~quick tidy in bedrooms
~get kids out for a walk/bike ride
~water newly planted plants in garden
~plant bulbs with kids
~s&s kitchen
~clean hob
~mop floors (when kids are in bed)
~S&S bathroom - ds has wee-ed all over the floor again...

The spare room/office still needs lots of attention but will have to wait till next week when the lo's are back at school.

Have a good day all

shouldbe · 10/04/2007 08:33

Good Morning All

glassslipper I'd take it easy today too, hope DD is feeling better soon. Its tough when one is ill and the other just won't sleep

DT Hi Hope you get your house back into some order, the holidays wreak havoc don't they!!

GF I have to hoover my kitchen too, so I'll get that done today. Have a good day at work

~Light a Fire
~Take DD1 into town to a party
~Food Shop
~Bathroom and downstairs loo

Better get the fire lit as it has gone chilly....and then get the kids dressed. See you in a bit

ludaloo · 10/04/2007 09:13

glassslipper EEk! Just spotted your mouse post! Is it hiding behind it still? Try putting chocolate down to entice it out...mice love chocolate...unless the cat has crippled it (....Sorry )Then I think you'll have to move the dresser other wise it'll die behind there. (Get a big strong man to do it)....or...could you poke around behind it with a long stick?????

ludaloo · 10/04/2007 09:14

lol!! or you could just hoover it out? stick the hoover attachment down there, It'll soon leg it (if it can..)

shouldbe · 10/04/2007 09:20

...does Anthea's book not have a section for getting rid of mice, Luda?

DimpledThighs · 10/04/2007 09:21

glassslipper leave the cat to deal with the mouse - shut it in the said room and forget about it if at all possible!

well I am not getting on wiht my list because my son is badgering me for a website address for some fun (educational) games - if you know any please help me!

shouldbe · 10/04/2007 09:22

We get lots of dead mice in the garden as gifts ()from our cat but thankfully haven't had one make it into the house (yet) - we're putting off installing a cat-flap because of the fear of rodants being brought in....

glassslipper · 10/04/2007 09:22

i cant see it so it must be right at the back, or even got underneath at the back? The cat sat there for 30 minutes waiting for it to come out and it didnt appear (unsurprisingly). I think it will die behind there. DH will have to move the dresser I guess (it weighs a ton) but he is working late tonight and tomorrow so it will have to wait until Thursday .

We had this happen in our last house behind a wardrobe but we didnt know it was a mouse until the smell of mouse corpse made us move the wardrobe to look.

OP posts:
glassslipper · 10/04/2007 09:23

good idea DT but it i in our playroom which has no doors between it, the kitchen and dining room

i have however shut the doors to the rest of the house.

shouldbe · 10/04/2007 09:25

Good Luck glassslipper, sorry not to be any help

ludaloo · 10/04/2007 09:35

Babies he said it was because there was wee on the seat of the loo, so he couldn't lift it ...even so...weeing in the bin!!

glasss I hope you manage to sort the mouse out...they are tricky little things. I was told once, that a mouse can fit through any gap you can get a pencil in!!!!
