Hi Luda and Good morning everyone

Well, we're waking up back in the sunny Cotswolds this morning - very nice, can't complain about being home again - the view across the valley from the computer desk is stunning and the house is nice and tidy

Dh is having a well deserved lie-in and the kids are in front of the telly. I'm just running a bath then plan to get lots of jobs done in the garden (if dh can move - he's pretty sore after the mountain biking!)

shouldbe · 09/04/2007 08:17

.......oh, and I have an enormous amount of washing to do how we have created so much lundry after only 3 days away I don't know.....

ludaloo · 09/04/2007 08:44

shouldbe Ahhh you are back I hope dh is ok! I remember a few years ago we went on a rather long bike ride and I was soooooo sore!!!!!

I have been reading Anthea's book, and I have to say, she does have some good tips in it. I tried to make fudge a few weeks ago, and burned the bottom of a pan really badly!!! So on her advice I am currently soaking the bottom of the pan with washing powder, on a gentle heat!! No idea if it has worked yet, although the water has gone brown, so that is a good sign, and apart from anything, it smells lovely!!!!!

HI ludaloo and shouldbe hope everyone is having a good morning. Am off in a minute to do a run with my trainer. Got up late as ate too much chocolate yesterday and not used to caffeine!

I like the kitchen zone and will do the mission today but may include inside the oven as well. Have the Anthea book now to inspire me.

Aufish · 09/04/2007 11:11

Good morning everybody, glad to hear that you had a good easter. Just got up as I had a late night. The house needs a serious clean today as it has been left for the last couple of days so here's what's on my to do list.

Washing up and drying up
hoovering and dusting
washing machine to be fixed, filter needs emptying as it won't spin.
washing and drying to be caught up with because of reason above
clean both bathrooms
get dressed and all kids dressed

Why oh why do I decide to have a couple of days off? It always turns out like this! Oh well, off to start the jobs, most probably do other stuff as well as I'm going around. Catch up with you guys later.

EHM · 09/04/2007 11:25

Morning luda,shouldbe,glitter & aufish

Ellie had a 24 hour bug (vomitting everywhere & everything) Saturday evening until Sunday. So we came back really early from Suffolk on Sunday. After we have left a trail of mayhem, my friends cottage is childfree & everything is brand new

tort From what we seen of Suffolk we thought it was lovely. How long did you live there for?
shoudbe hope you had a nice time in Wales.
glitter enjoy your training session.
simply hope I haven't missed you enjoy your week away.Sorry not ready all of yesterdays thread only posts after my post.

Will catch up later. Hope you & your lo's are all well. I am off to change a stinky nappy(not mine Ellie's)

grouchyoscar · 09/04/2007 12:26

Hi Luda shouldbe EHM Glitter and Aufish and Everyone

Hope you've had a great weekend.

I'm bored silly and fed up. DH hasn't quite grasped this 'family holiday' malarky. He's been a real sulky arse. Football on Saturday and killer hangover yesterday. We have been NOWHERE, done NOTHING and I'm hacked off about it. Now the weather is too cold and grey to do anything and I've on my own with the housework again...Oh chuffing joy!

Rant over.

Done lots of flying but as I said. I'm trying not to make lists. To do is ironing and putting away.

Great news. DS's seeds are sprouting. I've pricked out the little gems, the radishes are thriving and his tomatoes have just sprouted.

Off to iron...I'll be back

tortoise · 09/04/2007 13:27

Hi all. Bit cool and cloudy here today. Hope the sun burns through soon.
I have a bit of an off feeling tum. I think its just from too much choc the last 2 days. Hope so anyway!

All i have done today is walk to shops for loo roll! Had nearly run out.

Want to get the upstairs done today if possible. Although downstairs isn't so tidy again now! Wish it would stay tidy a bit longer.

EHM Hope Ellie is ok now. I lived in Suffolk for about 7 yrs. Then moved here with my Mum and dad. Been in Somerset for about 20 yrs now!
Shouldbe Good to see you back.
GO Oh dear. Glad plants are doing well though.

grouchyoscar · 09/04/2007 13:43

Hello Tort hope you've had a good long weekend

tortoise · 09/04/2007 13:44

Well it was ok GO. Not really any different to any weekend!

glitterfairy · 09/04/2007 14:08

Hi grouchyoscar and EHM and everyone.

Done my training and now it is raining but my lovely and wonderful dd has hoovered my living room for me and made a grand job. My ds and youngest dd have cleaned under my bed and tidied my room and now I will hoover it up.

Am resting then for the rest of the day and reading and taking it easy. My sister is here and reminding me EHM of how hard it is when little ones dont sleep. Hers were up from 3.30 this morning!

grouchyoscar · 09/04/2007 14:31

Ironing done...off to put away now

Still bored!

Aufish · 09/04/2007 14:43

Hi, well, almost everything is done, though my washing machine still isn't working properly. Filter has been cleaned off but its still not spinning or draining, don't know what is wrong with it now. Sat down now though as am getting stressed by the fact the washing machine isn't working. Watching the Sound of Music to try and ignore the rest of what is going on.

tortoise · 09/04/2007 15:27

Afternoon.
I got completely side tracked in my room and started moving things around! Had to move everything out just to be able to turn the bed the room is soooo small! Now find the bed doesn't really look right where i moved it to! Ooops! Well it can stay there for now. Now have the big problem of getting my draws back into the room with a gap between the door and the bed which is smaller than the draws! Oh dear. Looks like i will have to take all the draws out so it is light enough to heave it over the bed!!

See you all later (hopefully!).

ludaloo · 09/04/2007 15:46

Hello

Back from swimming...didn't go terribly well! DS had a huge paddy and refused to even take his clothes off, after about 20 mins of paddy, I managed to persuade him to come and sit by the pool in his pants and t-shirt....which is what he did in a huge sulk!
DD2 squealed for a good half an hour because she didn't want a swim nappy on, and kept trying to take it off! Then she refused to come in and stood on the side shivering! Sooooo I had to leave DD1 in the pool with my friend, and get the other two dressed again
I have to keep at it though, as they both need to get used to it. DS starts school in January, and will have to go with school!! (eeeekk)

Right then...my list!

Clean George Forman (Dh and I had midnight bacon butties ) done
~Washing load in
~D/W unloaded reloaded
~Tidy round done
~Hoover
~Clean hamster cage
~Change bed sheets
~Wash toilet mats

Ok...will get to it

Oh...GF you have Antheas book too! Its very detailed isn't it!! Good tips though..

AUFish it happens to me too...only a couple of days off and its all in need of doing big time!!

GO My dh is like that at times too...they just don't get it do they!!

tort Oh dear! I do that too!! Start something I wish I hadn't as it always ends up being a bigger job!!

Right...now I will get to it

OP posts:
ludaloo · 09/04/2007 16:13

Aufish hope you can get your washing machine sorted, It sounds like it might need someone out to look at it?? You could try halving the loads though, I had to do that with my old WM...

OP posts:
Mhamai · 09/04/2007 16:18

Ok Mhamai stands sheepishly again before her fellow flyers to admit that due to ds getting far too many eggs, that her only mission today has been to continue polishing off chocolate, whilst being somewhat voyeuristic to all the drama you know where!
Anyhoo nothing done but will duly attempt to lodge my rear end off the sofa now! Well soon.

grouchyoscar · 09/04/2007 16:28

No they ruddy don't do they luda. There's been time to got to football, time to drink with the neighbours, time to watch cricket, time to listen to football and time to look for dead relatives who he'll never ever find but NOT time to play dad of the year..He gets 25 days paid holiday and spends 4 days doing the aforementioned..And I wonder why I'm on ads and councelling again.

OK, rant subsided

Like tort I got sidetracked. DS has an IKEA Vikare bed and it needed expanding. DH said he would do it this weekend as he assembled the flatpack in the 1st place...but it hadn't happened. So armed with my tool kit and a stack of allen keys I set about it and finish the job off inan hour, including re-jigging the room I can now sit on DS's bed and read a story.

But the laundry still needs putting away.

And the wooden train set need clearing away.

I hear tea and biscuits calling

ludaloo · 09/04/2007 16:28

lol! mhamai Don't feel too bad, Its what Easter is all about!!

OP posts:
Mhamai · 09/04/2007 16:35

ludaloo sorry about the swimming fiasco, if it's any consolation ds is coming very close to be locked in a dark room for ummm the next 12 years or so because he's having a paddy that he wii tendo controls are playing up, the cheek of him throwing a wobbly why I try to devour everly last remaning crumb of choccy and MN! [grin[

Grouchyoscar

Well done for putting the bed together, go girl!

ludaloo · 09/04/2007 16:35

Oh GO It sounds very familiar! My DH works all the hours god sends, as he is SE...BUT it seems to let him off any other duty known to man!! He really doesn't get that I work all the hours god sends too (Infact more than he does!! Lets face it, full time mums really are FULL TIME!! I wake up with my 3 and generally go to bed when my 3 go too!!! I don't get chance to even go to the loo on my own!!!) He does actually come home and leave his work behind...but when he gets home, the TV...Poker on the comp...Having endless FAG breaks in the garden, are far more important then helping me with bath and bedtime.

I shouldn't complain too much we did have a nice day as a family yesterday (through a lot of nagging and moodyness on my part though I hasten to add!!)

OP posts:
grouchyoscar · 09/04/2007 16:47

And I bet you felt awful guilty for having to turn into Violet Elizabeth Bott to get him to play dad didn't you Luda?

Why do we put up with it? Is it the Maternal condition?
